Length of hair

What length of hair do you have? What length of hair do you prefer? Reason for two questions is that I have shoulder length hair because it suits me better than short hair but I would really prefer a really short hair style but in the past they have never suited my face line. I have two daughters, the eldest has never really had hair past her shoulders and now has a very very short hair cut, so short she doesn't need to brush or comb it. My youngest daughter has always had really long hair and until two weeks ago when she had all the ends cut off she could actually sit on it. she has a natural curl in her hair and when it started to grown when she was a baby we only ever had the ends cut. Don't really know why this happened with the second daughter and not the first. I think when the youngest daughter decides to have her hair cut I shall be more gutted than she will.

My hair is about 3 or 4 inches past my shoulders. I prefer long hair and so does my husband. I think most men prefer long hair on women. I like it because I have many options to wear my hair. I can put it up in a bun or ponytail when it's hot, I can wear it down and with a headband, clips, etc. I usually wear it up in a ponytail or bun around the house and then I pull it down to go out or out of the house. My hair is naturally curly and I prefer it straight so I flat iron it when I go out and when I want it look really good. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I've worn my hair at all different lengths during the course of my life, going from as short as just barely brushing the bottom of my ears all the way to being midway down my back. Right now my hair is just about three inches below my shoulders. The reason that it is that length right now is because of the fact that I'm trying to grow my hair out so that I can get it chopped and donate my ponytail to locks of love to make wigs for children with cancer.

Right now I have my hair long enough to put up, but I like to cut it in the fall when it starts cooling off very short so it'll be down in the winter on my neck and long enough in the spring to put up as it starts to get hot - the thing is I can't stand it down any more, too many years of short hair, but I also can't stand paying to have it cut all the time either!

I'm with you on the not being able to stand paying to have it cut...It's about $30 for a simple style cut here. What do you pay?

Can't reember what I paid the other week as I went with daughter. Took my son for a trim last week and it was £6.50 for a tiny bit off all round, I thought that was very dear for a 12 year old

Hi Anne, I've always had very long hair up until the past few years. I finally got the guts up to have it cut and layered just above my shoulders. It was a shock at first but I like it. I'm older and the real long hair just wasn't working for me. Still can't bring myself to go too short. The last time I had it cut she went a little shorter than I care for but it grows back pretty quick. I have 4 daughters and only one has hair shorter than mine. One of my daughters has hair to die for. It's blonde and wavy and down past her waist. It's just georgeous.

Hi again Anne! Good subject. I hate my hair right now. Normally, it is like my profile picture here--that length anyway. I am always getting it tapered here and there, but basically always looks the same. Well, a few months ago someone cut my hair wrong. That's why I like doing my own hair. Well, I suffered til I got some of the length back and it was one length again. I went to the shop, and my daughter and I both told her I wanted my hair to grow out. I showed her a style which I have had many times. One length, but shorter in the back, just an inch or so. Just gradually longer on the sides. Well, the first thing she did was cut my hair about one inch long at the crown of my head. Oh my God. I felt sick. After waiting all this time for my hair to be one length again, she destroyed it in that one move. So it is about an inch long in the back and longer on the sides. Ohhhhh! I hated it. Everyone says, well, it'll grow back, and I say 'IT JUST DID'! this too shall pass......

I have long hair, but it's not too too long. I have long hair because I can stylize it how I want to. I had short hair once before when I was a child, and I will never do that again.

Rogaine, Wigs, and Hair extensions. Yes, these things really do work for the record. Also, if you shave all of you hair off and eat a real healthy diet with a lot of protein, that'll make your hair grow back faster.

I know what you mean, I had my hair cut really short when I was young, day one was ok, day two I was in tears, you can't glue it back on can you?

One inch. It's growing back in after falling out. Yeah! My hair always started to eat itself up after shoulder length.

As long as I am a boy, there is no relevance to this question in my case. But these days boys also started keeping lengthy hair. I like the girls with long hair. Though it is difficult to maintain properly every day, many girls prefer to have short hair and the stylish hair styles looks good for some girls.

Yes, for some people it look good. All depend on the hair style and body shape and many other things. For certain people most of the hair style looks so nice and person like me, whatever i do with it, never come proper. Bad luck, what else to say.

I have very short hair as it is required in my teachings. Short hair is a must because long hair is not hygienic in a kitchen. Well, this is if you are male. Females can have long hair without discussion. I realy hate this rule. Before i decided to do take these studies i had very long hair that almost reached my waist and it was curly too! I always had it in a ponytail or else it would be like half affro like and the other half sticking out to the sides (-.-) I love long hair and i'm glad my girlfriend keeps her long hairs for me but on the other side she teases me that she has long hairs and i don't :(

I have past-the waist length of curly hair and I seldom comb it. In my school days, I had a very short hair style - boyish style. But I don't think it suits me now. So I let my hair grows and just cut 5cm out of it every two moths to let it grow healthy.

Regular trims do keep the hair nice and healthy, I'm lazy about going to the hairdresser's hence my hubby trims my fringe for me

I have short hair...I've been dreaming of having long hair but I don't have enough patience to let it grow...plus I can't stand split ends so I cut it every month or else it will loose the line of the hair cut. the longest hair I had was shoulder lenght and the same as you i never tought that a short hair cut could suit me..but I simply love it..I like it much more than the last hair cut I had. the thing is that you have to find a good stylist that could see what would suit you better. did you try the bob haircut...it suits pretty much everyone and it gives you a more sofisticated look
@Anne18 (11029)

Thats the big problem patience while waiting for hair to grow, seems to grow a lot slower when you are wanting it ot grow

This is what I noticed. I might be wrong, but I will say this anyway. At one point in time, girls would love to have their hair long. Then when they finally realize what length of heir fits them best and make them most pretty, then they will stick with that length. It also holds true with the curl. After years, as they grow older, they will look for comfort and ease. This is when they have their hair short. So I notice most women who are older have longer hair.

I've had my hair all different lengths, but prefer it long. However, it's thinned out so much that I tend to keep it chin length now.

My hair is down to my lower back. It needs to be trimmed badly. Dry and rather lifeless right now. I made a promise to myself afew years ago that I would never cut my hair short again. I have a couple of times but not much. Have always liked it long since my hippy days. Hehehe

I learned many years ago that mayonaise is a good conditioner. You put it on your head, cover it with a bag, and then put a warmed towel over it and leave it for about twenty minutes.( I trim mine first.) It seems to work very nicely. And olive oil makes hair shiny. Eucalyptus is good for dandruff.

I have very long straight hair past my waist and I ignore the general rule that women over forty should have shorter hair! I usually wear my hair up or in a ponytail and I love it. My nine year old daughter also has very long hair and at this point, tells me she does not want to have it cut. I need to have a style which is non-existent because I don’t want to spend a great deal of time to do it every day.

I have long hair reaching my elbows already. I prefer long hair but probably after some time, I will cut it short. The last time that I wear short hair is when I was in high school. So far, I'm enjoying my long hair.

Enjoy your long hair before you decide to get it cut as it just may grow back slower the next time around. Do you tie it back or keep it loose?

Hi! You know, I really prefer to have a long hair through my hips but I'm not able to have that because I think my hair takes more time to grow.. I only got a hair that extended just 1 span above my shoulder. Having a long hair can make you feel sexy and confident, .. That's what I think.

Some people sell there hair to make wigs if it is really long when they have a lot cut off. I think that is a very good idea
