So, I thought my last week was HORRIBLE. Heres why: 1) I was very sick all week (bad cold and bad headache pretty much all day every day). 2)I turned in an assignment for one of my online classes that I was SURE I was going to get an F on (maybe a D because my teacher is really nice and understanding). But I had completely misunderstood the assignment and didn't have a lot of the info I needed. 3)I missed a class because I was VERY tired from lack of sleep the past couple days (sickness and other personal reasons), and slept through my alarm clock! This was my 3rd absence from this class (I actually missed this same class before fore similar problem-first time I had forgetten to set my alarm for class). And to top it off, when I emailed my teacher to explain, I also had to tell her I would be missing class again the next week! 4) Freaking out about my midterms for 2 of my classes. Good reasons for a sucky week right?...well check out the results: 1) I'm still sick, so that still sucks! 2)I got a 90% on the assignment I thought I did horrible on! My teacher was understanding and appreciated that I caught and owned up to my own mistake! She said the information I did have was good. 3)My teacher was understanding about me missing class, and she is allowing me to turn in the Lab that I missed at our next class for credit. And she is also going to let me make up the lab for the class I'm going to miss next week. 4)I got a 91% on one of my midterms, and on another I got ALL the multi-choice/true or false questions right, and now my long answer questions just need graded, I'm pretty confident with those answers, I know I'll miss some points...but I think I'll still get an A on my midterm. I still have two midterms to take, nervous about them, but I think my morale is boosted a bit from my grades on all the stuff mentioned above.

HI Lily... Glad to read from you after such a long time... Your post shows that probably, you've been working a lot and have busied yourself with a lot of it. You need to rest for a while. That will freshen you up and you'll not miss your classes. It is highly appreciable that you got such good grades even when you were not prepared for it... ... Keep it up!!! Good Luck!!!

Wow... A new born baby!!! how amazing... I love those beautiful and innocent little ones... Wish you a happy flight... Are you gonna fly Air Canada? I guess, only they have better network between USA and Canada... In the last sentence, did you mean, '...once I'm not sick of anyone, sleep will come...' Guess, something is missing there... :) don't worry, everything will be fine... Sleep will definitely come and you'll take the much needed rest... Take care... Good Luck!!

Hi Mr Pearl! You're right! I do need rest! Unfortunatly, I'm taking most of next week off (Tuesday afternoon until Monday night). But I won't do much relaxing, I'm going to visit my sister in CA, who just had a baby, so I'll be helping out a lot with the new baby and my 3 year old nephew. But hopefully once I'm not sick anyone sleep will come easier to me! Thank you

OOPS! lOl. I meant once I'm not sick anyMORE By CA I meant California, not Canada. No flying for me, I have to drive alone! It's only about a 3 hour drive, but that will be the longest I've ever driven alone. I'm a little bit nervous! But I can't wait to see my new nephew! He is so cute!!! And of course I miss my other nephew (who I used to see every weekend when they lived here). Thank you!

They are excellent results. What is the course you are doing? we all have days, or weeks like this, when stuff happens. I guess the idea is not to let it get to us too much. I know my daughter lets things get oto her if she has a run of bad luck, and then she gets depressed and stressed, which makes the situation worse. I have found that work helps me when I have a run of bad luck. Even if it is gardening or house work. I get a sense of achievement if I pull out weeds or plant the new veges.

The 98% is in an Interior Design class, the 88% is in a small business class and the 91% is Constitutional Law. The class with the midterm tomorrow is "Boens Stones and the Human Evolution." My science class, totally worried! lol I need to find something that will help me, like you have gardening. Hmmm..I would say writing because I like to write, but right now I am in the middle of a HUGE writers block! lol

I'd say you're very good and extremely intelligent to be that sick and get that good for grades. I'd also say you have a wonderful teacher. We all get sick at some time and it's important to be understanding.

I have often turned things in that I thought I did terribly on, but ended up getting a great grade anyway. I've also on occasion handed in something that I thought I did well on, and ended up getting a very low grade, though that hasn't happened nearly as frequently. I am now half way through my 3rd semester and so far I still maintain a 4.0 GPA. Thankfully, the beauty of taking all my classes online means that I will never miss a class.

I actually do a lot better in my campus classes and worse in my online classes. I never got an unexcused absence before I started nights, so I asked my boss if there's a chance I can move to days for my next semester. Then I'll be able to take all campus classes. The first and only C I have gotten was my first online class, and it was a College Success Class! lol. Ironic huh? I got As in all my other classes, maybe a couple Bs. But working nights with school is not working for me, so I really hope I can move to days.

I am glad to hear that the results were better than you expected them to be. It is always a good idea to not stress about things and assume the worst. (Remember this...To Assume makes an A.ss out of U and Me) My son is good at doing that. He thinks all these bad things are going to happen as a result of a certain situation and gets very stressed and depressed about it. Then when it turns out better than he expected he instantly feels better, but does not learn this lesson the next time around! We humans put unnecessary stress on ourselves all the time like this and it is just not worth it. Next time try to relax and accept whatever result comes in as being whatever it is knowing that you have done your best and their is nothing more that you can do. Stress is very unhealthy!

LOL yes, assuming def. does that to people. I guess you can say it's my bad habit. But I care so much about how I do in my classes that I get very stressed very easily. And I'm usually always stressed about a test, and I can't calm down until I actually see that I did get a good (or at least okay) grade. On my first test in my midterm class tomorrow I didn't do so well, but I still have an A in the class...and I really want to keep that A, so you can imagine how I'm feeling right now! lol. It's a bad habit, I know..but school does that to a lot of people. lol

It's great that you have an understanding teacher! I think that's not so easy to find. I can't remember the last time I thought I had a horrible week, but turned out OK instead. I hope you get better!

It's always great when stuff that starts off horrible turns out great! I only hope the same can be true about my court date next week with the neighbour from hell. I hope you get over your cold soon.

See, and you were worried for nothing... Congrats Lily, I am the same way, regardless on how much or little I work on something, I always think I will get a bad grade. For example, last week the reading in Art class was a whole chapter, (before we did half a chapter a week) so though I took notes, there was so much info, I felt overwhelmed and that most of it overflowed out of my head. I have to write in this discussion forum and reply to three peers to get full credit, plus I have to write it clearly, in good grammar and use citations..Well, I got an e-mail yesterday that "once again" I got full credit for, though if you ask me, I didn't think I would get..

Lol! For one of my classes I have to write in a discussion forum and respond to others too. I'm not sure exactly how she grades it, whenever I miss any points (on ANY assignment) she never tells me why I missed the points, so I don't know how I can do better next time! It's so frustrating! lol I never worry for nothing! I always have very good reasons to worry! lol. Lucky for me, last week, those reasons just... disappeared! Thank you carmel

Since all my classes are online, I have to write in forums in each one and reply, just that in art, this is the only instructor to e-mail me each week about my grade. I think I did well in the others, but I have to go to my "report" section to find out..

I'm taking two online classes and two campus classes. I don't do too well in online classes, so I'm trying to move to days at work so I don't have to take any more. I always do better in my campus classes.
