Yeah I know it was Halloween yesterday and that means lots of candy that the girls brought home..but now what? We have so much chocolate! I am not all that into sweets and apparently neither are my kids who are already over the copious amounts of candy. SO what do I do with it? I mean I can make desserts, cookies, cakes, etc. but blah too much sweet. What are you doing with your extra candies?

You could take it to a homeless shelter or the kids could take it to their school and put it in the lunch room. We eat our chocolate here. We are all chocolate lovers. It is good you aren't that into sweets. Believe me it is a cross to bear. I eat way too much of the stuff.

LOL I know it. I like my candy don't get me wrong but I can only eat a very small amount at a time. It's candy in general though but the chocolate can be used easier in my mind.

Maybe you can offer it to a relative, friend or neighbor. I would put the chocolate in the fridge and let your girl's friends nibble on it when they come over. Our kids are grown so we only gave out candy last night. We have some left over and I will take care of all of it. I love chocolate and eat it all the time. Fortunately I don't have a weight problem so I can get away with it. My husband bought about 8 big bags of candy prior to Halloween and I ate it all by myself...lol Have done this my entire life without any issues. Guess I am a piggie at heart!

hi opininatelady take it to the nursing homes and retirement centers. those of us, unlike me,who are not diabetics love candy and cannot always afford to buy it. Also rehab hospitals appreciate donations of candy for their rehab patients. Some libraries have story hours and treat the kids so ask if they would appreciate a donation of candy.

I don't have kids but we didn't get any trick or treaters so now I'm stuck with a lot of chocolate! I like chocolate occasionally but prefer dark chocolate and this is all mini bars. I'll probably give them to a neighbour's kids.

Well, in my country we never have the tradition of trick or treating. But in regards to your extra candies, have you considered selling these? Not the reselling type, but to make the desserts as you said like cookies, package these neatly and let your kids sell these to their classmates. Not only will you be able to earn some extra cash but you also teach your kids to earn for themselves. Unless, selling is not allowed in classrooms.

Extra chocolate? What's that? Here's a question for you. QUESTION: The problem is this: You are in San Antonio, Texas. The date is: August 3, 2011. The temperature has hit over 100 Degrees every day for the last month. It is 106 Degrees NOW. The windows on your car will not go down, and your air conditioner does not work. Your 5 month old son is with you. You are 30 miles from home, and you just bought a 10 Pound box of Russell Stover chocolates. How do you get home without all the chocolate melting into the box? ANSWER: You eat it all BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

I think that there are many, whom would be seriously jealous of your problem..."TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE!"...my girl, half the world would like to have that dilemna! Like "Elic" I say freeze it! Whenever I make the big trek (off the Island) to Vancouver or Victoria, and shop at Walmart, I always buy a couple of the HUGE Chocolate/nut bars they have...900 gms for $3.99...one milk chocolate, one swiss chocolate, and one extra-dark chocolate and put them in the freezer! I break them up into pieces before I freeze them in Ziploc bags! I can just take a piece to appease my craving! Some very dark chocolates will get a bit off-coloured but that doesn't affect the taste! Enjoy your problem...LOL

Have you considered giving your extra candies to places like children's wards at hospitals or to some place like that? Or about maybe giving some of the extra candy to the folks who live in nursing homes? Wishing you the best of luck. Take Care, Keola12
