Just Plain Stupidity, And Wrong Numbers

Canada

Some people are out of their minds. Someone kept texting Walker's cellphone, asking for Brad. Walker is not much for texting, so I took the phone, and responded that it was a wrong number, and to stop. The idiot thought I was kidding, and kept responding as if it was a big joke. Finally I called the number and left a semi-nasty voice mail to knock it off, or I was calling the cops. WTF is wrong with some people? Ever had this happen to you?

This is why I don't answer my phone. This is why I hate phones. So there may be idiots out there but they don't bother me.

No I have not had this happen to me but I have seen plenty of other stupid incidents involving cellphones. It seems like people lose their manners or their mind when it comes to these things.

ahaha.. I can relate i have had this happened to me and the person was looking for a woman and i said that the person is not here or tht they have got the wrong number. Then the guy would keep on texting me details on how they would need to go to a province, etc. ah i never replied as it is wasting time and effort. they finally stopped bugging me.

It hasn't happened to me but has happened to both my daughters. My younger daughter had a guy leaving voicemails on her phone for another guy. She finally changed her outgoing message to include the statement, "If you are calling for Bob, THIS IS NOT HIS NUMBER!" My older had a guy texting her phone for a whole night, trying to reach some friend of his. She told him politely that he had the wrong number and he kept insisting it was a joke. She finally said, "You are texting me in French and I am answering you in English... because you DON'T have the right number!" I don't know why people have to be SO insistent that they are right all the time.

I am lucky that it hasn't happened. A few years back my phone number matched the bus station and people were always calling for departure times....well I was not very nice one night when I got sick of it and told everyone that the bus left at 1 a.m. I don't know if anyone bit on that or not or if they had an influx of people waiting for the bus.

i had some one that was convinced her grandaughter was using that phone number. i told her no and i dont have a clue who her grandaughter was etc etc and after 15 minutes of arguing she left it with "well when you see her next tell her to call home" i wanted to scream "what the hell do you not understand about her not being here?!?" but i was good and just hung up

No, never happened to me. I have misdialed a cell phone, got no answer and gotten called back. Simple matter of doing 7173 instead of 7371, cause I was very tired.

not since my son was a kid and his friends used to keep calling and hanging up, or calling every 5 minutes to ask for him and he was not home

I used to get a drunk calling me in the middle of the night when I lived in Guelph. (Pre-texting days, internet was barely off the ground.) You don't suppose ..?

Not exactly, but I did get phone calls and texts for the person who had the cell phone number before me for over a year! No one ever called back, or kept texting. They would text back sorry, but nothing more. She had tons of contacts for sure that she didn't tell them her new number. Marsha

I had similar happen while back... he text me "remember me?" Well, it was the time I was reconnecting with some high school friends, so I didn't know if it was someone that really knew me or what cause I never give my cell number to anyone but family. Then he sends me his picture.."remember me now?" I didn't respond. Then he called twice, I didn't respond since I knew no one had my number that could have done this...he eventually stopped. I didn't want to respond as I didn't want him to get mad or something and keep texting/calling.

Yes, that's happened to me before, when I got a new phone. The previous owner's friends and business kept calling me and texting me but they finally stopped when I texted them wrong number!!

No it hasn't happen to me, but it sounds like a prank. There are actually websites that can do this for you, I cannot name any but I've heard about them. Where you plug in your number, and your friends number and send a text as anonymous, or something for that matter. Just something designed to annoy people. Reporting it is the best idea, but usually cops are not able to do much as you cannot find the person calling. However, I believe you can contact your provider to block the phone number contacting you.

yes, it happen to me too. Some guy texting me and saying that he got my number from his friend. He start seducing me by saying something with the word 'honey', then i tell him that you got the wrong number and i am a man. He didn't believe me and keep saying that i will be sorry if we didn't met and spend some times together because he got a big d**k. Then i just reply i don't care because i have a big one myself. Then he call me... as soon as he heard my voice, he hung up and stop bothering me. What's wrong with some people... why won't they stop trying when we said it was the wrong number?... anyway after that i had a good laugh about my experience...

hi danishcanadian oh yes I kept getting this voice mail from an employer I thouoght and the message kept getting angrier and worse so finally I called the number he gave a nd whom I thought was his employee came to find out it was a father owner of a large company and his employee and son. oh boy did I get an earful why had I not called him before well excuse me you called my phone I finally told him I was not his employee and do not ever call my number again or I will call the police on you being so mean to your own son. that shut him up. I could not believe he was bawling me out for not having called his dammed number before. he did not know me and I had to listen to several messages before I got his number right as he was yelling so loud and talking so fast. I cringe wondering about his son and him. wow.
