Snow, there is snow and before Thanksgiving. In Southern Oregon this is a rare thing. It's is so beautiful, but don't ask the Llamas, they have all headed for the barns, then they turn and face us, giving us that look, stop it, please make it stop. We tell them it's OK and alip them a little extra hay. Not everybody around here likes snow.

Poor Llamas! But I hear they have very warm winter coats so I hope they will stay snug and warm. I love their beautiful, expressive eyes. Snow is lovely, one of the most beautiful things God gives us. We had a couple of flakes on Nov. 10 but it didn't stick and the temps were in the high 30s. Last year we had our first few flakes on the 26th and I didn't keep records before that. Many signs in nature say this will be a very cold, harsh winter in my area. Have you noticed any signs in nature that tell you how your winter will be?

I have family across the Columbia River and they're boo-hooing because of the snow. I don't have much sympathy, they were making a big deal out of it when we got a big heavy snowfall in October. The difference is that I love snow! That's why I live in Colorado (I think - it hasn't snowed but once since then.)

I love the snow. Its one of God's beautiful creation and 'though cold, God gave it an awesome beauty that can only be seen during winter. We had a snow storm last week and gotten 4-5 foot of snow. Today, we had snow showers but not as bad a last week. Its just a taste of winter.

New Zealand - New Zealand, where wearing red can make you very popular in the snow.
I have only seen snow once and that was some years ago in new Zealand, it was so beautiful, I was on a tour and I will tell you if you go to the snow and wear a red coat you become very popular, I had people telling me to walk in different areas so they could take photos, and only because of my red coat.

You, too! Yes, we got a small dusting, about an inch in the early hours of the morning! Just enough to make all things slippery! BUT, apparently it will hit with a vengeance on Sunday nite...the snowshovel is ready! We had such a cool summer, last year, I did not shear my Ram (sheep) and now he has the thickest coat of wool..I have ever seen him have. Wondering if that is an indication that we will have a nasty winter, too! This is early for us to get snow, so have not hauled my hay, yet...but thank goodness, I cut a small field this summer with quality grass, so that will get me thru. Poor Llamas...they need some of Rambo's wool coat, but they do have a nice one of their own, don't they? Hope you get NO more!

Ya, they have good heavy coats, they are just wisses about being wet. There are two exceptions in our herd, two who will stay out in any weather.

Hi savypat, We haven't had any snow yet and I hope it's one of those years that we don't see any until after Christmas - well maybe a little on Christmas Eve. I liked snow when I was young but don't care for it anymore. Guess I shouldn't be selfish though, as many here can't wait for it. Blessings.

I feel so sorry for thoses Llamas. That is one of the reasons I moved to Puerto Rico because I didn't want the snow or the cold weather. As we get older its just very hard to handle the cold weather. I love the blue skies, sunshine and peaceful existance living on a tropical island. I hope the snow melts fast so the Llamas can come out from the barn.

Thankfully there has not been any sign of snow here yet. In fact, for the last few days it has actually been above 60 degrees every day and in the next six days, the coolest high temperature is 52 degrees. I do have to admit that I kind of like the weather like this because it means that I don't have to worry about them already starting to call off school due to snow. I'd like to hope that we will have a mild winter this year, which would mean a longer summer break next year, so more time to choose when we might be able to take a vacation.

In the days when I do miss the snow, I know I stayed in some of the old child. Because, in my lucid moments, they are forced to play the role of responsible adult, I can not think with horror than the snow. I fear the snow because they know that when it snows, morning worries burdening our frozen. It's hard to clean the car shivering all night in the yard, and then becomes a nightmare for traffic, delay in school, and that makes us sit all day sulk. I'm lots of snow so the roads are snowy and know that trains arrive too late, and drove the stop at half the journey, though we're soul he prepared to celebrate. And I fear the snow bank, because, suddenly, narrow streets, making the city an adventure any way more difficult to face. I'm afraid it's winter may freeze pipes that bring water into the house, because they know that if the electricity stops not only remain without light, without heat and water but also because I'm afraid not fall, slipping on the ice ... Administrations my life collapsed joys of old. But though not in so much that you do not feel, from time to time, smell the crazy winter and I do miss it snows, it snows up to the eaves, to the edge of love thought. And then I realize that was kept inside me, however, some of the innocent young years, when the snows were always cause for excitement, opportunity dreaming ...

ah snow...something i have yet to see outside of tv and the movies :( and yes not everybody likes snow, a couple of friends of mine had a recent "snow discussion". one was from Minnesota, one from Canada, and me from the Philippines. Guess who was the most enthusiastic about the topic? haha. both friends of mine were like, snow is good for those who havent seen/experienced it yet, the rest, snow is only good in small powdery doses :)) i wonder how my cats will react to snow...

If your cats go outside, they will take a few steps, shake their feet and request an immediate return to the house. Cold wet feet are not for them.
