Is this how to enjoy life?

It was payday. Mario stayed in the office late for his monthly salary. Time swiftly passed by. It was 12:00 midnight sharp but still no sign of Mario at home. His battered wife Fely kept patiently waiting for him at home with a long list of things they have to pay: water and electric bills, school fees and contribution for their schoolchildren, amortization pay for itinerant merchant, house rental, borrowings from the retail store, etc. But still no shadow of Mario. Worried, Fely seeked police assistance to find her wayward husband. They combed the town's redlight district. At last they were able to trace Mario's footsteps. He was still reeking of liquor, with nothing on but his brief and left for dead in a dimly lighted rickety shack. Poor Mario! He was divested of his valuables, money and everything. Fely couldn't help herself but cry. It was almost 3:00 a.m. Is this how to enjoy life? Reactions are welcome.

Some people live like one day millionaires. Whenever it's pay day expect that some will be flocking to malls and bars. They don't even think about its importance. I don't think they would feel the enjoyment of it afterwards. They just spend carelessly. I admire people who saves money so they can use it for important things and those that are saving for their future.

One day millionaires are spendthrift so to say. Gallant, showy and boisterous, they spend money left and right money in just a day and go bankrupt the rest of the days.

"one day millionaires". That is such a cool phrase I'm going to have to steal it! A lot of people who get them into problems because of seeking constant (and expensive) distractions are those who cannot delay gratification. They want it ALL now rather than a bit at a time throughout the future. They can't see tomorrow never mind into their old age.

go ahead and steal it, in my place that phrase was overly used

sounds to me like Mario had set up the scene himself, making an excuse why he didn't have any money but wreaked of booze, this woman should take her kids and herself and get well away from this guy,

The issue was presented as a mere practicing ground for the growth and development of sound judgement. Well and good, if it is your opinion.

Drinking is okay if you do it moderately...its not fun anymore if you don't feel the fun out of it.

It's easier said than done. I advise not taking a bite of liquor or anything hazardous to the body.

It doesn't sound like an enjoyable life at all. It sounds horrible actually. Nothing about what you wrote indicates anything that would even resemble enjoying life.

... and that's the reason why the discussion is titled: "Is this how to enjoy life?".

Unfortunately, this scene with different names occurs far too often in real life and equates to delusional living on the part of the participants. Enjoy it? Well, let's look at what you wrote. A battered wife who has stayed in that situation is deluding herself if she thinks the way she is living is enjoyable. The husband is as deluded as the wife because he thinks he is enjoying his life drinking and cheating on his wife and then losing everything while hurting from a beating. Why not cry about the choices you've made in life? They definitely are not making you happy. Life is meant to be enjoyed and constant stress and fear, does not equate to enjoyment in my life. Just my thoughts on your topic!

I agree with the kind of appraisal you have on the issue. Let "Life is meant to be enjoyed and constant stress and fear, does not equate to enjoyment in ...life" bring home the point to all concerned.

No its a foolish way of life, and if this is the way to enjoy life then I feel very sorry for him because there is so much more if he would just open his eyes ans appreciate what else there is...so sad that many people just don't get it until its too late.

Is this a story you are writing or something that you saw in a movie or something like that? I am sure that there are people that live somewhat like this out there, but this particular scenario is not realistic.

Hello! Wow, he's very unlucky, his poor. So of the day is very unfortunate. I feel so of the day, actually can avoid. For all things happen for a reason. As long as we do note that we think carefully before, this thing will bring what results, we can avoid the worst outcome. Bless you! Happy New Year!

Sometime we choose the life we had right now but regrets can not mend a broken life. Many housewives now would fight to have their own source of income to get liberty from irresponsible husbands. I just thank my God that I have been patient and diligent in my studies and now I enjoy the fruits of my labor. Life is more enjoyable than what poor Fely has. If only she could find some strength to free herself from her own misfortune then life would be much better.

obviously such condition of life is not accepted by any sound man on earth.and was this really man's mistake or was it the situation that made him do that.i am not saying that man was right,it's only that he has lost the path to a good and sexy life.he has been illusioned.i also wonder can a person be changed, and if so this person should be brought on the right track by some sound person.
