Reading!!! Even when I am tired, I read at least one chapter a night so I can release the days events from my mind. If I am having problems sleeping, then I just read more, the longer I read, the more tired I become.

When I can't sleep I'll drink a glass of milk. If it's not working I will listen to music until I fall asleep. If it is still not working. I will watch until my eyes get tired. And the best and fastest way to fall asleep is to read boring books.

Hello ankit and good morning. To start with you need to keep a regular bedtime. Next use your bedroom for nothing but for sleeping. Do not have a TV or other electronics in the bedroom. I have small fan in my bedroom that cuts out most noise from out side and makes what is called white noise. I read a very boring book to make me sleepy and if that doesn't work I start doing the multiplication starting with 1x1=1 and so forth and keep time with my breathing. I usually am asleep before I get to the twos. I sometime have to get up in the middle of the night for the bathroom and that was when I had trouble going back to sleep but by doing the multiplication has taken care of that problem.

When I can`t sleep I start thinking of some story trying to find different plot.Usually it helps. If not, I try to create my own story. It always helps.

As a Zen practitioner, I use meditation, which is just a matter of following the breaths. If we try hard to get to sleep, it more than often will not work, because we get disturbed or even stressed and the adrenalin would keep us awake. I sleep around 4-5 hours a night, and that is fine. I don't fret about it, as there is no point. I meditate on and off through the day also, keeping my mind focused.. It takes time, but I have gotten to the point where it really doesn't matter how long I sleep for.. I have been awake for 3 days during meditational retreat, which proves to me that meditation is just as restful as sleep. Mabye not everybody can experience that, but most people I know who meditate feel the same way.. _Derek

X-files repeats on Sky Atlantic. Works for me every time. Fox Mulder, season one: "... too many others know what's happening out there. No one, no government agency, has jurizzzzzz ...." Doggett's voice works even better. Incidentally, does anyone know what DID happen out there?!

Listening to Paul McKenna's hypnotic stuff. It improves the behavior of my subconcious mind ( or something lol) and after having heard the same stuff for 100 times you get so bored you fall asleep. That's my trick. xD

I am sorry but I am so bad if I tell you this. I am sure a lot will hate me so much but then what I do to make me fall asleep is that I pray the rosary or read the Bible. I know I know it's really bad but it really really works!!! The devil really knows how to do their stuff! I just do it if I badly needed to sleep if there is a very important thing to do the next day then I do it. after I read a few pages of the Bible then I will be able to sleep. As well as praying the rosary. I am just being honest of what is the most effective way for me to get sleep.

I do not need any special tricks or techniques for falling asleep. After whole day's hard labour, I feel so much tired that as soon as go to bed, I fall asleep.

I was had insomnia, very hard to go sleep...but now back to normal. I just make my self busy on something and get tired in day time. And never sleep on day. If I went to sleep, I make suggestion to myself "sleep, sleep, sleep" repeat that word and gone.

Well, I don't really have any problem with getting into sleep. Normally, I will fall into sleep almost instantly or within minutes. However, I can still recommend you a method to fall into sleep easily as sometimes even when I don't want to sleep, I will when I do this. You can lie yourself down on the bed, take a book, any kind of books but better books with lots of informational words. For example, a book about science. As you read and read, you will fall into sleep without even noticing it. It happens maybe in 10 to 20 minutes usually. At times it only takes me 5 minutes to sleep. Hope this helps.

Drink a nice glass of warm milk. Then you close your eyes and try not to think of anything.

There are a lot of ways that you can fall asleep. I find that reading is a good way to fall asleep. Drinking milk is another good way to fall asleep. Relaxation/meditation is another method. These are just some suggestions.

First put the temperature in your bedroom less warm than in other rooms, but keep your feet warm : don't ask me why, but it helps to sleep. When I can't sleep, I try to forget my worries by reading a book, or playing a stupid game on a phone or PDA -- the danger is to fall asleep on it --. A lukewarm milk can also help.

Dear friend, I can not hardly sleep at night, my average is more or less to fall asleep at around 2.00 AM. However, do not hide the fact that there are nights that almost up to 5.00 PM and over I just can not fall asleep. Then maybe turn on my PC and I start to read or even write something here on Mylot.
