The United States of America was built on Christian principles. “Historians are discovering that the Bible, perhaps even more than the Constitution, is our Founding document.” Newsweek, December 27, 1982 page 44 Can you see what happened to Israel thousands of years ago, when they turned their backs on God, happening to the United States, who was blessed by God, but have, themselves, turned from Him?

Oh yah! and don't forget when Israel, because she was following after other 'gods'/philosophies of the day, had the resulting unwanted babes, and sacrificed them to those gods / philosophies, it was the last straw with God! This, is the real reason why the abortion business is so sacred to so many modern people. And this to me is the biggest reason America is floundering.

If the United States of America was built on Christian principles, we'd still be British colonies. Romans 13:1-2: Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. The very act of rebelling against Britain was a rejection of Christian principles. From the Declaration of Independence: That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. The Declaration codifies this rejection of Christian principles in expressly asserting that governments derive "their just powers from the consent of the governed," and not because "The authorities that exist have been established by God." It codifies this rejection of Christian principles again by asserting "whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness" in open defiance of the Biblical claim "whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted."

The United States was not built on Christian principles. It was founded as a sectarian state. There is one founding document, the Constitution and it contains provisions to protect against the establishment of religious tests.

To deny that religion played a role in the establishing of the colonies of North America would be to be blind to history. The statement that many came for religious freedom is just as blind. While some of the early arrivals sought the right to worship as they believed proper they did no extend the right of religious freedom to others. In Boston in the year 1660 Mary Dyer a Quaker was hanged for her religious convictions ans many other Quakers were persecuted. So much for religious freedom!

Hi bestboy, There are nearly 40,000 denominations within Christianity, so who decides what Christian principles mean? Nearly all the early colonist came to America from Christian countries, many looking for religious freedom. Unfortunately, as soon as they were established, they started to persecute those who believed differently from them - the very thing that they tried to get away from. Why do you think that God is concerned about the United States turning away from him? Surely, America is no different from any other country. God, my friend is no respecter of persons, or countries for that matter. Blessings.

God decides what Christian principles are and we know through His word, the Bible. I know you're right about the persecution of some in America. That is why the first amendment is worded the way it is, so no one would have the right to interfere in another's worship. Act 10:34,35 - And opening his mouth, Peter said, "I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right, is welcome to Him. NASB God is concerned about the United States because He loves us. Read the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15: 11-32. It gives an example of God's love.

My country is they United States. If you claim that there has been a decline of morals and ethics in the United States prove it and show that there is a direct correlation to that decline to ther removal of the Bible from public schools. All of the available evidence supports an opposite view.

I don't know how it is in your country, but I have definitely seen a decline in morals and ethics in the United States since Bible and God were removed from public schools.
