Last Sunday, we bought a board game called Monopoly. Actually, I have been playing that game in the cellphone for weeks now and I find it kinda addictive. So now, we have it in actual and it's fun. Your money's fate is in the dice. And your strategic skills will help you to have a monopoly or not to go bankrupt. It's a fun game for the family. How about you guys? Is there some kind of game that you enjoy playing with your family or friends? Indoor games to be exact. Please share. Me and the other lotters can get some ideas of the other games that we can enjoy. Thanks!

I played this game when I was a small children with my brothers and parents sometimes. Interesting game. I would become angry and whenever I landed on a land belongs to someone else and had to pay royalty. When I got more lands than the other players I would become more lenient and giving them once or twice passes not to pay royalty, cause I didn't want them to go bankrupt and end the game. If only it can be applied on a real life.. Another gae I like to play when I was a child was called Halma, I don't know what it's called in English or if there is any similar game in other countries.

No problem, I was away for a long time, too... It's just the time to do annual report and I am just busy as hell. I am back today and had to respond to so many discussions I've been neglecting. But I cannot respond all of them so I just go from the newest ones on my list and go down one by one... Halma is a game of three people. You have 15 points each, and you need to place these 15 points into your other house opposite, and also the other two players. You can step only one step when you do not jump over another point. So you have to make ways that you can jump over a point long enough to reach the other house closer. Whoever can get their points into their other house first is the winner. I like it cause sometimes we arranged a path to get us a long way to the house only to be blocked by the other players or used by the other player instead.

Never heard of that Halma game. Maybe there's something similar here but with different name. I also hate landing on a property with expensive rents and those with houses becomes expensive too. But it's a fun game to play. It takes us 3 hours to finish the game because we are only two. #sorry for late reply

I can see you're back today. Thanks for being in almost all of my recent posts. So glad that you find them interesting as well. Or maybe because I'm your friend so you have no choice but to respond. (just kidding!) Anyways, about the halma game, I'm trying to picture it on my mind but no traces came out whether we have that game or not. Looks so interesting game. I think it's a strategy game, right?

I have never played monopoly or even know how to play it but my two daughters always plays this game when they were in their primary school. Now that they are grown ups I think they got tired of playing it too. Maybe because there are too much game to choose from in the computer which kept them busy I'm fond of playing chess, in fact during weekends me and my friends get together just to play chess. I guess playing monopoly with family members is a good bonding moment especially during weekends.

Yeah, your right. Maybe I should ask my daughters to play monopoly again to keep them away from the computer once in a while. And this time I'll play with them but they have to teach me first how to play it.

Oh, yes, you can learn it quick. And it's a matter of luck because your fate is in the dice. Best of luck when you play!

Hi adnileb! I have heard of Monopoly since I was a kid but I never really played it. I don't even know how to really play it. I played scrabble more but I play it alone. My mother is the same. She plays scrabble by herself. I only get to play it against someone when I play it in the computer. ^^ My co-workers loved to play Text Twist before. I get to be in the computer and they'd back me up. We've gone on higher levels with our combined minds.

I like playing scrabble alone. No competition. I beat my own score.

You play scrabble alone? How was it? Did you enjoy? Before me and my mom also play scrabble but now, she's running out of words.

Wow, that's kinda weird for me. Well, beating your score will help you learn better. And you know you are learning more because it's your own score that you are trying to beat. I haven't tried that one though.

In our country there is a more popular version of monopoly,it is called Millionaire's game. The concept is almost the same, buy lots and houses pay rents, etc. except there are few things you find in one that aren't in another. I got to be play and like Millionaire's game a lot before I finally owned Monopoly board game and get the chance to play it. My Monopoly board game is now gone but we still have an intact Millionaire's Game at home. We have a lot of board games at home because my brothers and I love to play them when we were younger. We have Game of the Generals, Chess, Scrabble, Checkers, Goh, and maybe more.We play one of them occasionally, especially on black outs.

It's probably because of my brothers that I, too have enjoyed playing board games. Since I have many siblings, playing board games have become our leisure time activity. We even play paper games at times.

Wow, too many board games at home! Before, we only have scrabble and play it together with my mom and always with my mom because I don’t have any siblings. We also have the scrib-age and the snakes and ladders. They’re too old fashion but indeed a very good game to play with the family members. Too many ideas from lotters, different board games but all awesome to play with. I’ll add Millionaire’s game to my list.

I love Monopoly. I have been playing that for many years. I remember years ago, back in the 70's, around the holidays, we would play the game after dinner. We usually would wait until the coffee and we would set up the game and play for hours. We did that for many years. Now I play it every once in a while. I also have it on my iPone. It is the best board game ever invented.

Well all you need is the original basic game. It is an awesome game and very addicting as well. I love playing it. You just need to set aside some time to play it because as you know it takes a long time. I also have the app on my iPhone. I love it. Have fun.

We stopped playing it this week because of long playing hours and we still need to sleep early. We hope to finish our previous game on Saturday. Yes, I am enjoying this game very much. Even more when I am lucky with the dice.

That was a long ago and you’re still playing it until now. That’s awesome! I tried playing it on my boyfriend’s phone and enjoyed it so we bought the real board game. We have the cheapest because the other kinds are with trophies and the others with real gold plated tokens. Maybe soon, I would like to have the one with a trophy.

Monopoly has to b one of the most successful board games ever produced, with a couple of exceptions such as chess etcetera. It has certainly stood the test of time. It was very popular when I was a child, and despite the fact that I have not seen it for a long while I understand that it is till selling well. It would be very difficult to find someone who has not played the game at one time or another.

We haven't played it a long time now. Maybe later we will play again since the discussion was brought back to life. Yes I think it's still selling good at stores because it's really a fun game. Hope the young ones of this generation will play monopoly instead of computer games.

I remember playing Monopoly forty years ago and it was fun back then. It was somewhat unrealistic by today's standards because the money was based on the value of money back in those days rather than today's inflated dollar. I always hated landing on other people's hotels and losing all my money...and it seems like I lost most of the time. I remember my favorite character was the dog. There were other games we played when I was a kid, but I don't remember them all.

Yes, I play monopoly online too. (and at pogo.com too) My eyes surrendered of being sleepy last night while I’m playing online. I just hate computers making an unfair trade with me. So we ended up having no monopoly at all. Haha! But still fun playing with them.

There was a time when my family got hooked on Scrabble. That was 3 or 4 years ago. Right about the time when the Golden Edition of Scrabble came out. It was an expensive board game, but we bought it as we thought it was a good educational tool for the children. We had fun trying to beat out each other!

Hi adnileb: I love monopoly! It's a classic from table games but I must admit that I haven't played monopoly in a while. Now when I have a time to spare doing what I want I prefer to play pokemon, gold version and I am doing since since 2008. When I end all the game which means do all the challenges, capture all pokemons and train them I'll find another game from the franchise ALVARO

Ah yes good old Monopoly. I remember in the days before the Internet, where there were much time playing Monopoly. And it is a great way to waste a nice afternoon when you have too much time right on your hands. That is really just going to be one of those games where the hours are going to really burn away to say the very least. Board games in general seem to be a rather lost art, but that is just the price of technology. Battleship is another game that is rather fun as well. A game that I could play for hours and hours. Also Trouble for some reason and breaking out the old playing cards and playing a game of War, those games could last for hours and hours and hours. It was really a fun part, and even in these days, if there enough people around, I break out the old board games, with monopoly being one that is just going to really kill some time in the afternoon.

Monopoly indeed kills the time. You can never notice that you have consumed lots of hours yet you're not finished yet with the game. I will list that battleship for future game. Mylotters have also said the games they usually play. Thanks!

I only played it as a kid, my uncle tried to teach it to me and my cousin. In the end my granny came in.. asked who owned what.. turned out my uncle was cheating on us (he doesn't like to loose games). I never played that game again. We mostly play scrabble. My youngest kids (8 and 6 years old) play it too. They also like those kind of games they show on television.

It has been forever since I played Monopoly! I used to play it all the time when I was younger..and when my kids were young. Twister was another one that I loved. That does require a bit of flexibility so keep that in mind when choosing it...LOL....maybe not such a great choice for me now...or maybe it is. I like poker. Texas Holdem to be exact. My children all knew how to play it...for fun of course...by the time they were 10.

Man, Monopoly is SO fun to play! I used to play that all the time when I was a kid. I still love playing board games but as I get older it seems like none of my friends or family are interested in it anymore. . I still want to set up a 'board game' and 'card game' night with my family - if we can all ever find the time that is. Monopoly is tough though, for me, because I am usually the first one to run out of money because I tend to buy every property I land on. I used to have a friend in middle school who was OBSESSED with Monopoly - she would force me to play it ALL THE TIME (literally every time we hung out after school) and we would end up playing it for like 5 hours at a time. . I love Clue, too, you should check that board game out as well.

So it is really addictive! Oh, boy why I was just addicted to it now. Anyways, it’s never too late. Me and my partner played it since Sunday and I won two times already. It’s really hard when you ran out of money either because of buying or landing to a property with so expensive rent. () Win or lose, it’s a fun game. I will try to look for the game you said. “Clue”… um, can you give me some clue about that game?

My siblings, cousins, and I used to play that board game a lot as children. I just learned from my husband a year ago that it was also the board game of choice for him, his siblings, and cousins too! Cute huh? Anyway, now we have a Dog-O-Poly board game. It's from the same toy company. Instead of houses and other things and properties, it has dog houses and bones in neutral colors. So cute!
