I came across a writing which said ginger can also used as one of the natural cure for diabetes type II. One cannot rely on that only and stop conventional medication. I liked this article and thought it fit to share with other members for their views. http://www.all-about-beating-diabetes.com/ginger-for-diabetics.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+all-about-beating-diabetes%2FfOFr+%28Beating++diabetes++new+updates.%29&utm_content=Yahoo%21+Mail I also came across another site regarding this: http://www.livestrong.com/article/375857-ginger-for-lowering-diabetes/ We do use ginger in our house food preparations. A few people however do not like ginger. In my view some quantity has to be included in our food in one form or other--besides garlic, onion etc. have a nice day.

Hi Ravisivan, I am glad that you found our articles helpful. I hope other diabetics would find it too. We are committed to make people understand the marvelous healing sources we find at nature. This article was about Ginger and what it can do to help diabetics. However, there exist many other natural alternatives (i.e. herbs, lifestyle and dietary changes) that can really make the difference. This our mission: To encourage people never give up in doing the right things while beating diabetes. Altogether they will help. Otherwise, diabetics would experience dramatic oscillation in blood sugar levels and/or many other complications. Lots of strong willing and determination! Dralba: welcome to mylot. Sorry for the belated response. I am getting updates regularly and I make use of it in informing people through mylot. I also use the suggestions given. My case -- My fasting sugar which use to be around 80 till 55 years started slowly rising every year --82, 85, 88, 90, 92, 95, 98, 100, 102,105. This may be due to change in life style from being more active to less active. In fact nowadays I do not take sweets to an extent I use to take when I was young. Now I am 62+. I take coffee without sugar. Occasionally whenever I go for marriages I do indulge in taking sweets a little. good day.

Garden: true garlic and onion are also helpful. I understand that ginger is really useful in case of diabetics type 2 and only thing is we should not discontinue our medicines.

It is also good in relieving from motion sickness effects, cold and flu prevention and treatment and also morning sickness. However, it should not be taken in too large quantities as it can upset stomach, and cause belching also. Ginger in the form of capsules is also a good option.

my father has also diabetes, I did not know that ginger can be a great help. He is currently taking medications to regulate his blood sugar. But now, I am doing herbal capsule that are really proven to regulate blood sugar even to those who are taking insulin. The herbal plant if named "king of bitters" because of reaaly bitter taste. there are lot of items in our household that have their medicinal properties but sometimes forgranted and resulted into modern medicine.

asomencil true each vegetable or herb has a medicinal quality and it becomes difficult for us to identify them and include in food. that is why we start taking medicines prescribed by doctors.

They were interesting articles. I have type 2 diabetes. I currently do not take any medications. I basically treat y diabetes with diet and exercise. I do at times go off my diet. I am only human. But I have gained some of the weight that I previously lost back. So not I am trying to lose it again. It's just lately that I have not been feeling to good. I may need to see my doctor.

Hi ravisivan! I believe natural or conventional treatments of diabetes can really help. According to my 98 year old grandmother and some of my folks who already tried and I cosider them as a proof, they have all diabetes, ginger is a wonder plant that could treat some of the dreaded ailments, one is diabetes, it could lower the sugar level in the blood. As for me, I make it a point that I consume such once in a weeks time. Because I have learned that such disease can run in the blood or hereditary in nature. So, I'm kinda alarmed and so I make it sure that I watch my health more than I used to. In addition to the list -the Bitter melon or they call here in my country-"ampalaya", it could treat diabetes per medical research and my neighboorhood. Lastly, with continuous monitoring, proper food to eat like the one previously mentioned and daily exercise - diabetes can be treated - whatever it's type - DM type 1 or 2. Be well ravisivan.

This is the first time I am hearing that ginger is good for diabetes. I think there are lots of information we do not know about life. Thanks for sharing it. I think most people in Southindia uses ginger for various curries and use ginger curry with rice. I think it is good to eat ginger, garlic, etc.

So far I have been reading a lot of medical journal and I have not encountered anything that says that there is already a cure for diabetes. All they can recommend is to go on a diet and if it cannot be stopped then medication is necessary. I have read about many herbal solution but I do not think none of them have claimed their glucose problem was solved in any way. I think the only thing they could do is to prevent them from getting worse but eventually as your age matures diabetes will catch up with you. Diabetes is a very serious lifelong disease, once you have it, it will haunt you for the rest of your life and the only thing you can do is to prevent it from overcoming you. Proper diet, exercise and medication is the best solution for it to be slowed down.

rsa i agree with you fully.diabetes is a serious disease which cannot be eliminated or cured. it can be only kept under control with medication , diet and exercise. in that ginger also helps in lessening sugar in blood. good day.

Interesting! I technically do not have diabetes, but I do have to watch it. I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my second one . . . and although the condition goes away after the child is born, all of us who had gestational diabetes is considered to be pre-diabetic for the rest of our lives. We happen to like ginger, but I don't use it often enough. I'm going to look into this ginger treatment as I don't necessarily watch what I eat as well I should be. So thanks!

Ginger and Onions, yes? I've also heard that cinnamon is part of a diet that 'cures' diabetes, along with ... Red Delicious apples, or maybe that takes care of stomach-cancer or something else. Type II diabetes is one of those diseases that's mostly the victim's fault (oh, maybe the victim has a "genetic disposition" to it; but they still chose to eat too many sweet foods ... or not enough sweet foods, whichever it is ...) So a "cure" for Type II diabetes is really the chemical-exponent you add to your body's chemical-formula to make it "equal" to the way it was before

This is so true. Sometimes we didn't know that the alternative medicines for our illnesses can just be found in our kitchen. Aside from the fact that we could save a lot than buying synthetic medicines or undergoing expensive treatments, we could also extend our life span because of using the natural way. There's a lot more amazing facts to find out that was scientifically proven about the herbs that we have in our kitchen or in our gardens.

srikanth on account of age increasing sugar level also increases. some of us get it at 50 years and a few others get it in sixties and others get it after 70., somehow some part of body will be affected by disease . of course monitoring them carefully may help reducing ailments. take care of the health of mother.
