Hello Lotters, I remembered two different establishments in our neighborhood that was robbed and attacked by different people because they can't get through the door. the first one, they were able to get in but wasn't able to get anything and left because they were tight sealing inside the establishment. the second one, successfully robbed a 24/7 store at the height of a strong rains! I wonder how we can protect our roofs from burglars who can easily tear it up?

Yeah I heard and seen it on TV that there is a new tactic of burglars not being able to enter in the main door they instead choose the next thing roofs. Of course it is a bit hard since you have to slowly remove the roof carefully not being noticed by the residents but of course that is the next vulnerable entry point since this part of the house is the most neglected area since no one is expecting that they would do the hard way of entering a property.

Hello Rsa101, the noise of actually folding one can easily wake up a family member who are sensitive to hearing. even dogs will bark since they can't see what they hear. I know because my dog tends to bark when ever there's a movement on the roofs. maybe i should put some fences on the side of the roof to prevent myself from getting sleeping late worrying about movement at night.

Well that may be possible if the night is silent and no noise can be heard outside but then when rains come and some sort of noise outside they can sneak in those times. But I know it is really that hard and I guess they have done their assignments well that they were able to execute their deeds well.

Make it painful! Scatter broken glass all over your roof or line it with barbed wired. Here in the states the robber would sue the homeowner but I'm sure there is more common sense where you live. Another thing you can do is to set up alarms around the outside of you house using string and bells or electronic sirens.

Hello Dragon54u, WOW, that would have been really painful resistance to the crooks, better yet I should add thumb tax on it too? hehehe. that's absurd, a crook would dare sue teh home owner for trying to defend himself?! damN! oh no not here, if one crook experience something like that here, he'd never come back and his trace of blood tracks i doubt he would dare to do it again

here you can ask the police and they will tell you how to protect yourself, or your insurance company can do it as well.

Hello winterose, the problem is that even cops are vulnerable to being a crook and the advice coming from the cops are useless. most specially if the cop is obviously new compare to the other cops out there that are veterans but sadly corrupt. the recent cop that was apprehended was a high ranking officer

I hate burglars and crooks who feel that it is their right to just take away other people's possessions. Once caught, you will see that these crooks have big bodies that are fit to work. They just don't want to earn a decent living. One way to protect your home from these crooks is to make sure to invest on good locks. The locks on my doors have been sent to me by my brother who lives in the US. One has to destroy the lock in the unfortunate case that you have forgotten your keys inside the house. And mind you, destroying it isn't easy because my mom and I once forgot to bring our keys and our neighbor who used a hammer to break the lock had a tough time doing so. He managed to destroy the lock, and the door eventually too. Also, if you have a lot of valuables, invest in a safety deposit in a bank. This way even if burglars are able to get in, they will just get gadgets and appliances that are easy to replace.

Hello Anne25spenn, yeah it's a shame that they have built bodies but they prefer to steal and take advantage of that some one. they should have just tried joining the army, or police force or even traffic management team. sad though that most former cops that are fired from work are usually using their skills and training to ROB a bank

Indeed times are tough and more and more people are going for crimes. I just hope that they just take material stuff and not lives. As to how you could protect your roof, perhaps we should constantly check for old roofs and secure passageways leading to the roof as well. It's usually these times of rains where they usually attack, which is why, it's really good for establishments to put some guards, guard dogs, and cctv so that they could monitor the different parts of the store/house. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

Hello Laydee, I think there's already some tough times already since the era of this kind of economic times in our country. poor are getting poorer, am glad we are a bit back on track preventing from going through that poor stage. though i don't think we are rich either but we do our best to make sure we get to settle the bills right.

Well, I don't think housebreaker will use the roofs to rob a house unless they know that nobody is in the house. Crooks usually use this method on establishment because no one is around during the night. No one is really safe now a days, even banks are robbed today using underground tunnel. Thieves usually find their ways even to the toughest security around.

Hello romzee, Yeah UNLESS there's nobody inside the house, that is probably why my brother didn't want any one to leave the house.I think even those pawnshops are usually robbed from under ground. usually, if there's a sewage connecting to the ground of the establishment. but i guess not to ours, because it's pure cement and steel before getting in and i might even hear it

Letran, so far in my area here, most burglars are entering people's homes through either door or window. So far, i never heard they enter through the roof. Seems like, the burglars in your area are willing to take the risk, entering through the roof. Usually our area here, i saw many people installing the CCTV to protect their home. As for my home, we have a dog to protect ours.

We can't tell what to do and how to protect our homes from robbers. See, even with the most advanced technology establishment these bad people still can penetrate. Maybe electric shock will do - wrapped the whole building with shield protector.

it is really hard to protect our house from them especially if it is only made of wood. A friend of mine got robbed a few times so they made a gate.. all barb wires.. it was like a prison, but i guess it's okay as long as you're safe.

Hello Bhabycatch13, That won't happen in our renters pawnshop, we are always aware of everything that's happen here. if we year some ch*nk noise we would know some one is digging underground and we would know it. this pawnshop would surely be secured from here on end.

Let's place some traps on our roofs to prevent burglars from barging in.

Same thing has been happening here in Mexico. Funny where all these crimanals in different countries get these ideas from.

We should build sturdy roofs that cant be access by burglars. We should hire a good carpenter or go ask advice from architect.
