Why Must You "Believe that God Is" in Order to Receive What God Gives?

That's what St. Paul says in Hebrews 11:6---something like 'For in order to receive of God's gifts, one must first believe that he is ...' Is that to say that God is "All-Powerful and can do anything ... unless we bully him into inaction?" What's your take on it?

God doesn't write on his gifts "To Mythociate from God with love XXX", so unless you know who He is, you won't recognise that it is a gift from Him.

Because; if God is so great, why does it even matter whether we 'believe he is'?

Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." It says that one cannot please God if one does not have faith. That makes sense. If you don't believe God, how can you have a good relationship with Him? He rewards those who seek him (diligently= sincerely, thoroughly, consistently) with His presence and power. He is not obligated to "give" anything to anyone. Why should He? The only exception is that He obligated Himself to accept those who accept the sacrifice of Jesus.

How can we bully G-d? I can see Him just getting so pi$$ed off He walks away but bully G-d? Never will happen. I read this package this way. You must believe in this Being who will help you. If you don't, why would you believe He helped you?

I kinda see what you're saying---G-d (literally Y`shu'a in this case) can't reach you unless you reach-out to Him ... 'sin' or something removed us out of His reach. 'Praying to G-d' without 'believing in G-d' is like 'yelling for help' when 'you know that no one can hear you.'

Why must you believe? Simply because the Bible tells us that 'without faith it is impossible to please God that is the exact rendering of that verse. You can take it or leave it but you can't get an answer to the question of why faith pleases God. What I would like to ask you is why do you ask these questions? Are you a seeker? If so, this is not the way to find God by questioning things beyond your understanding.

During Jesus' ministry on earth, we could see that all the miracles happened because of the believing of the people. The Lord also said that "the righteous shall live my faith". We cannot please GOd wihtout faith. :D The only way that we could receive gifts from God that is, our salvation of our soul, forgiveness of our sins, health, prosperity, joy, restoration, peace etc is by believing that Jesus is the only Son of GOd, accpeting Him as our Lord and Saviour. Yes all things are possible with GOd. Have a great day to you!

But why go through 'believing he is'? Why not just believe the gifts are ours (no matter WHERE they come from)?
