If cat cross our way means not good and we should change our way

Hi surekharathi bhabhi. How are you doing? It is me shames... Well talking about superstitions, India has so many of them that sometimes it kind of becomes very irritating. Just because these superstitions are so lame that no one bothered to prove them wrong does not mean that you will follow them.. People pray for hours to their god to keep them safe. Yet they get scared that something bad will happen to them just because a cat crossed their path. Don't they believe their god. I can never understand superstitious people. hi surekharathi thats one superstition I had never heard bu t here in the US a lot of people will change their path ilf t hey see a black cat asd they think it is 'bad luck. Me I do not believe inb those silly superstitions but go happily on my wa y. the last cat we had when my husband was alive was a all black cat and we were not more u nlucky than usual either.

Hi surekha! I have heard about it that if a cat crosses your path, you should either wait or change your path. The superstition looks bizarre to me. How could a cat come to know that we are going to cross the path and she should stop and allow us to cross first. I do not believe in this kind of superstition and even if a cat has crossed my way, I do not change my route. Have a great day!

In our country, there is also a similar belief about black cats crossing the street, that it's just like an omen. I am not very sure about this, but I think a lot of accidents have happened without cats crossing.

Hi, Many people are very superstitious. I am not a superstitious person. Many people believe that if cat crosses the way it is not good and we should change the way or go some steps back and then come forward again. I don't believe on this. Many times cat crossed my way nothing bad happened to me and I completed my work effectively.

I think the superstition only involves black cats. We also have that superstition but I practically don't believe. I for one have already been in many encounters with a cat going across my way but no bad luck ever happens. Other countries in Europe even consider black cats as good luck pets.

Hi dear If a cat crossed your way, it means the cat is also in a hurry to reach some where(lol) The Cat has its own right to go here and there; it can't wait for human beings or people are going on the road. Many of our superstitions are based on some facts; here in this case I can’t find any such thing. If a cat cross my way definitely I remember about the superstition, no more thinking other than that. Let the cat go and find its prey.

Hello Surkeha, you select nice topic to start discussion superstition. Not be Indians but people of Westren countries also believe on superstition. I am from Rajasthan and my native place is in Churu district. People of this are is too much caring of these type of superstitions. These beliefs we get from our elders. So we also caring these.

We also have that superstition in the Philippines but not all cats only black cats crossing the street before us means bad luck. We have the choice to believe it or not. No one is preventing us to believe. Is there a reason for us to believe in superstition?

Hmm one more blind belief on our country. By seeing all these i think our country is full of blind beliefs. I don't believe in such things. Poor cat is blamed for nothing

I think most superstitious people are people with old minded, and as for me, it forbid for being superstitious in my religion, and i always thinking rationally and never believe superstitious things.

What I knew about this belief also is when a cat crosses the road and you have seen it, it is bad luck. Usually those are the black cats.It is more bad luck when it strikes in 13th day of a month and it is Friday also.

Yeah, I agree with that...My grandma believes in it so when a cat cross our way we go back home and didn't go to where we are going. I dunno if it's true but my grandma told me that it happened to her many times.

It's what most people believe that we must go back to our way when we say a black cat crossing the street, But I don't really believe this.This is a just a false belief from old times.Because you can have accident at any time if you will not drive carefully.

This is mere superstition. I had on many occasions cat crossed my way and is all good. There are many superstitions such breaking of mirrors, Friday 13th., etc..Do not let these superstitions control your life or they will come true. Do you know why it comes true? It is you make it happens. You are worry and keep on thinking that it will happens, so it happens. You mind control you. Remember the positive thinking expert, Napolean Hill says "Whatever the mind of man can think and believe it can achieve." While I've never heard of a superstition saying that you should change your path if a cat crosses in front of you, I have heard that you are destined to bad luck if a black cat does cross in front of you. However, I also have to say that I am not a superstitious person at all and I don't believe in this at all. It is a good thing that I don't believe in it as well because there are some cats that live up the street from me and it seems like they always decide to cross as soon as I am coming down the street. Most of this pack of cats are black as well.

All that is is just superstition. Nothing more. there is no bad luck from that. Cats cross the road all the time and nothing happens. I would not read anything into that. Son't worry about it. It is those old time superstitions.

Hi,people living in my neighbourhood also believe in this superstition.They think that it brings them 'unluck' when a black cat crosses their path.

me i don't believe in those things, if you are to get bad luck then you will so it all depends what you believe in. so it is better to pray before going out.
