Have you ever worked a one time gig?

I've been checking out Craigslist quite a bit lately looking for a new job.. and the other night I came across something interesting. It was an ad looking for help for an event.. just a one time thing. So, I replied to the ad, got an e-mail today to set up a phone call, and just got off the phone with the lady about it.
What it is is this company throws career fairs for local doctors. I've been hired to help work the registration desk. I will check in doctors as they arrive, give them name tags, that sort of thing. Nothing glamorous, but I'm going to earn some extra cash for it!
I'm actually kind of excited about it.
Have you ever done anything like this?

Amazing that you were wondering where extra money was going to come from for Christmas and it just knocked on your door so to speak! Good for you. I haven't done anything like that...well I did waitress a long time ago for an event..didn't like doing it as it was way too much! It was a big banquet and holy moly there was alot of work involved.

Well, it's a little bit of extra money.. they pay $75 for the night. I mean it's something and will definitely help! I'm looking forward to it and hope it will be fun!

Great news Kat! Absolutely wonderful that you will earn extra cash. You are always so creative and look for ways to earn extra cash. What a great thing to do and who knows= it may lead to another job in the furure doing this. Good luck

I'm not counting on that. This isn't a local company.. they do these things all across the country. My hubby's first reaction is maybe one of these doctor's coming to this event will want to hire me.. until I told him they're all unemployed doctors, and my job isn't to mingle.
But it sounds like fun anyways, and if I enjoy it I'll be on the look out for more events like this.

I have never done anything like that before but that is awesome that you got the "job". Hopefully they will keep your name and number for anything in the future if you are interested. Nothing is better than making a little bit of money and it sounds really stress free...a 2 for 1!

That is really good. This time of year everyone could use extra money right now. I have never seen this on my craigslist, not yet anyway. Now I will look for something like this so I can earn a little extra money. Lord knows I could use it.
