Took Tiger in yesterday again. He had thrown up dinner and didn't eat his breakfast the next morning. The vet kept him overnight, but today they called, said he was blocked again and crashing, and recommended he be euthanized. But then as she was saying that, he stopped breathing. So Tiger has gone where there are no more pills or pain. RIP Tiger.

A b*mmer isn't it? I am so sorry my dear friend as I know you and your family loved this great little tiger. we love them with all our heart and then they die leaving such a void in our lives. But wasn't it wonderful to have him when you did? Wish that I could make it better for you

He was a sweet kitty, but he's been through so much the last couple of years, in a way it's kind of a relief. He never was the same after Sunny disappeared...

I remember when I had to put to sleep my Misty. She was the best dog ever and I still miss her. So I know what it must be for you to lose Tiger. I have seen you post about his illness. Sorry, Dawn. As you say, he has gone where there are no more pills or pain.

I am sorry for your loss. I do know how you feel. I lost two dogs within 4 months of each other just last year. Just remember that it was time to let him go, and remember the life he had with you.

I would hope that it will be that quick when my Tiger goes. He is not sick, he has a great appetite, and he has rude toilet habits. He is not in pain, but he walks like an old man, and can no longer leap to great heights. I guess this is a resolution for you. He has been through a lot with you guys.

I'm sorry about your loss and I understand how you're feeling. I've lost a few pets myself. Sometimes it's a relief that there is just no more pills and pain for our pets..but we miss them anyway.

I'm so sorry to hear this but I am glad that he has no more pain. Sounds almost like what I went through with my kitty, Bean. He got a blood parasite (can't remember the name of it offhand) and was treated with a transfusion and massive doses of antibiotics but that wasn't enough to save him. I've been seriously thinking of going to the SPCA or humane society here to get a kitty or two because I miss my Bean so much since he went over the bridge. But, I keep thinking about the pain of losing them when their time comes and just don't know if I could go through that again. I'll be looking at that with my two dogs one of these days and have cried so many tears already for all my furry relatives who've gone to better things. Still, I'll probably do it. I've just got to get over this vertigo issue I've had since Nov. 1st before I take on any more responsibilities.

Don't I know what these moments are.I have had several of them. You were spared from the trauma from having to euthanise him. I have gone through that too. He is now at peace. Time will help you face this.

We all know that our cat won't last much longer, she is 17 years of age, going deaf and has failing eyesight, we are lucky to have her for so long, I remember to this day going to the animal rescue centre and picking her out, I was 25 then, I am 41 now but she keeps going. Trouble is you get soooo attached to them, we have all agreed that we are not going to replace her. It's too heartbreaking. RIP Tiger.

I hear you my friend, not sure if you remember my beloved Zeus, but I had to leave him behind when I left my ex, I have a picture of him up and even 5 years on I miss that beautiful cat, worse thing is I never knew what happened to him, whether my ex took him with them or they got rehomed. Because of the way I ended the relationship I never kept in touch with my ex, that was the purpose of escaping.

That's just so sad Dawn. I'm sorry for your loss. Are the kids handling it OK? I'll bet Dearra is just heartbroken. I lost one of mine recently and I can't even talk about it.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear Tiger. I know from my own experiences that it is always so hard to lose one of our pets and I've been through that too many times in my life. But, I do have to admit that I've always found a lot of comfort in the Rainbow Bridge poem. When I get to missing my first baby, my Michela, I will think about her waiting for me and it will make me miss her just a little bit less. What I can tell you is that when it is time for my pets to join me again, there is going to be an entire herd coming after me as I've lost a lot of pets in my lifetime.

Sorry, to hear you had to go through this but it's good he went on his own and suddenly. I know a lot of people's who's males cat end up having blockagees. Many fixed male cats later in life, have issues. They do have special food, but it must be a lifetime committment, and may even still have issues.
