Sleeping more

It is winter here, do you find you sleep more? I do, especially if it is cold and gray. For one thing my bed is warm and my room is cold, it take real will to get up from the warm bed. It's still dark outside, I can't even see the stars, why get up. The smell of coffee, that's enough to get me up. Thank goodness for coffee.

I do think that I spend more time sleeping during the late fall and winter season. The reason is similar to what you have said, the main reason that I sleep more is because of the fact that it is warm and cozy in my bed. Even more than just sleeping more because the bed envelopes me so warmly, it is also because I tend to get depressed during the winter because we don't get to see as much sun as we do during other parts of the year.

Oh..It does get harder to get up in the morning. Especially with my winter comforter that is literally holding me down.

Yep...I've found that I'm sleeping longer now days. I just got up from a 10 hr nap, or what I thought was going to be a nap. I've been wondering why I've been sleeping longer. I like to sleep in a cold room too. During the winter time, I just don't turn on the heat in the bedroom. I do have an electric blanket that I use if it's especially cold in the room. I seem to dream more lately too. Wonder what's with that?

The cold weather could be really inviting. And yes, although we do not experience winter in our country, but during this season, it is a bit colder than the usual days. It is really nice to have longer sleep everyday, but couldn't coz kids still need to go to school until the 21st.

Hi friend, winter season surely make us to sleep more. It is really hard to get up in the early morning during the winter season, the climate is very cool and we need a great bed sheet to cover our self to have a pleasant sleep

I love my sleep too much, and I am not a morning person, so I will cuddle underneath my duvet for as long as possible, I give myself two days a week where I don't set my alarm and I can sleep in, providing of course the cat doesn't wake me up, or the barking dogs. Even better when it is snowing outside and you are lovely and snug and cosy in bed.

I keep changing my work and leisure schedule, so I am not sure if I get enough sleep. I keep the house cold when we sleep as that is healthier, and it helps a lot to have slippers right there to put my feet into. I think I could nap every day if circumstances, the phone and the cats would allow it. Coffee is the biggest booster for me as well.

My first experience of winter was when i visited Australia during the winter months. It was a real shock to my body. I feel as though I came out from the hot oven and pushed into the fridge freezer. I was freezing cold and have to use the electric blanket to keep me warm. Though I stayed throughout the winter seasons I still couldn't adjust myself to the harsh winter. And yes I spend most of my time in bed as no amount of warm clothing could stop me from trembling. And that they say was a mild winter. I don't think I can survive in cold countries.

I definitely do as well. It's SO easy to feel super lazy and tired all the time. I just want to cozy up under the covers and not get any work done. That is how my past couple of weeks have been. Bust out the hot chocolate, the heating blanket, and a good book - and BAM! That makes for an awesome, relaxing weekend. Of course in the summer and spring it feels totally opposite - all I want to do is go, go, go - go out of town, go out ON the town, get things done, clean, etc. I don't know why that is. But when it's sunny and nice out, don't you just feel way more motivated and awake?

Something unusual is happening to me. I've been sleeping much more and all of the time I have some strange dreams. This is happening since last week. Usually I wake up at 8am every morning, but these days I sleep to 11am and I still feel tired and I want to sleep more. There've been a long time since I've remembered my dreams. But this week I was dreaming all of the nights and I remember (kind of) my dreams. Very strange ones, talking to friends. Standing somewhere in a known place, doing things that at this moment would never happen to me. I don't mind the dreams, they don't interfere that much. But I wish I would sleep to 8am and wake up normally, without feeling drowsy and sleepy. Thanks that there is coffee, it can make everything better.

Hi savypat. Well in winter it feels as if someone has put life inside the bed. It tries to talk to you and manipulates you into sleeping more. Luckily my term finished this friday and I had three days break before the start of new term. So I was able to sleep to my heart's content. Unfortunately I have my college tomorrow. I hope I will be able to wake up tomorrow early. Anyways have a nice day and enjoy the winter... ~SuperShames~
