What does your toddler like best?

Someone told me that a stage toddlers go through is where they fixate on one type of thing, so that they become a little expert on dinosaurs, or get really good at puzzles, or know all the characters of a tv series. My son, I think, is starting to fixate on Lego. He's always asking to play Lego or pretending to read Lego books.

My eldest son was into drawing. He used to draw different kind of cars. But when he ha gotten little older, he would be drawing these Anime that he sees on tv. And with that, he grew up really having a great skill in drawing.

That's a useful skill for a person to have!

When he was younger he dreamed of becoming an animator for Disney. But then he ended up taking Legal Management course. Weird!

My daughter is two and she is all over the place with different things. She loves play dough and painting a lot. They do go through stages. She likes different things like a new toys even when it's not new. I guess I could tell you that is just loves loves Tinkerbell to the point her room has Tinkerbell all over the place.

My grandson who is with me really likes Elmo and Mickey mouse show that he watches over Disney channel, that's why when he wanted to sleep I put my tablet beside him so he can watch in YouTube since I don't have cable channel here like what they got in the city with his parents' house. Even baby products that have pictures of them he really likes much. He only turns 2 years old this coming May.

Elmo is so popular, isn't he? My son likes him too. He has a few Mickey Mouse things but isn't as interested.

You know I can't really think of just one specific thing that either of my children fixated on when they were toddlers. They were both individuals that had very busy minds and they always liked to go from one activity to the other. I know that my daughter did spend a lot of time doing crafts from the time that she was very young and my son was a young child that really did like to play with Hot Wheels. However, those were definitely not ever the only thing that they were interested in.

I guess not all kids fixate. I hope my son likes crafts, too. I just pulled out the play dough yesterday and he had fun with that.

Power Rangers for my first born. And I don't think he completely outgrows it because I still see him fixated whenever it's showed on TV even though he is now 19. At least he does not have or play with those Power Rangers toys anymore...

My daughter is almost 2. She just loves all the Sesame Street characters and has all the little figurines and carries them all over the place talking to them... it's so cute! She also loves her dolls, puzzles, and books.

How fun! And it's neat to watch kids use their toys to act things out, isn't it?

I think a liking for lego can go on for years! When my youngest was a toddler, he was completely obsessed with anything to do with motorbikes. Our opposite neighbour had one, and my son would wake from his sleep when he heard it, tell me it was a bike, then fall straight back to sleep!

That's cute! One of my friends' kids has a thing about airplanes, so he is often pointing out airplanes.
