Connection...

There is someone here that I feel this connection to for unknown reasons to me. I cannot explain it, have no idea what it is but I feel connected to them somehow. I hope this makes sense to someone, anyone. Lol. Have you ever felt that way about someone? And didn't know why or understand why?

I have this sense of familiarity with some of the members here. It's like i have known them personally for such a long time.

I have had this happen in person as well. One time my current husband even guessed about it when I was trying to describe or discuss it. Not in a jealous way, but more in a way of saying "I see how you connect to that person". It was a man, but it was not a romantic connection, but more like we appreciated how each other's minds worked. We had connections with trying to help a certain child in different ways.

That's good that you have a connection too! I would love to meet my connection one day but I doubt that will happen...

It's truly wonderful having someone on the same wavelength as you, you feel a solid connection, you don't always have to meet, you can just get the same feeling whether you are online or offline. You can relate to them. With discussions you can learn so much more about the person, because sometimes it's easier to be open and honest online than it is offline. I know I can turn to my friends here on Mylot, because they know me, the support, advice and warmth I get is always unconditional. It doesn't matter where the person is residing either, you can still feel a connection with someone who is halfway across the world.

You've changed your avatar pic again!

Yeah it is nice. :) And it is even nicer when the person feels the same way about me! =) That is even cooler. I agree, it is easier to me for someone to get to know us online. I love MyLot for that reason as well, I have so many people here that truly care about my well being. :) Yeah, I get bored with the same avatar so I change it quite a bit. I might not be changing this one for a while though... :)

I can relate with you my dear. I also feel the same with other mylotters. There is something that words are not enough to explain. A feeling of closeness- a relation without a name :)

i understood everything you were trying to say i have done that...the falling for someone online. i had that uncontrollable feeling that had no explination or reason but it was there. i wanted to ask does this persn know who they are? i think it is normal and nothing wrong with this. many people meet online and make great connections!! i hope it all works out for the best for you!

Well I wouldn't say falling for them per se. I am happily married. I just feel personally connected to them but I have never met them in person... I feel like I have known them forever, that somehow we were together before or something. I don't know how to explain it correctly, I know it sounds crazy.

I have never told the person but I think once they read this they will know who I am talking about...

it doesnt sound crazy at all to me. i understamd what you mean. my husband has became really close to someone hes never met but had only online discussions with. i also have made a really really good riend here at mylot that i know more about than some people here that i tslk to face to face. ithink it is easier to make a connection with people online. its hard to explain..well i am sure if they do know they will be reallly happyto know this :)

It is a natural thing but if you think you are having that feeling, I believe its wise to split it out, perhaps there might be a coincedence of feelings. For me, I would rather say that which occupies my mind and you never can tell, it might end up working out for the better.

Well I shared it here. Since they didn't respond to this discussion I'm guessing they don't feel the same way... Which is okay because not everyone feels the same way.

Yes. I do it so often that it doesn't seem strange or unusual in the least. Some people are just on the same wavelength; some are not.

Lol, I am glad people understood what I was saying and feeling because I wasn't sure anyone would. =)

Have you ever heard of 'Deja Vu'? It is like you describe. Who is for or what? A connection to someone for unknown reasons? I would try some meditation and see what comes to you. Make take several times.

It is interesting to think about. In theory and all. Have heard some pretty amazing stories of past life regression and all done by hypnosis.

Yeah I have heard of deja vu and it does feel like that. I feel like I have known this person my whole life. I will try that and see what happens. =)

I think that when you've shared a lot of conversations here from different users, you soon realize that you are actually sifting through people. And then you find that the ones that you have the most in common, or the most 'connection' to are the ones you most like having more conversations and discussions. I think this is what makes the connection more prominent. Also, it's nice to know that somewhere out there, there is another soul who have almost have the same views as you.

Yeah, I guess it is mostly because we are on the same page with things. It is so nice having good friends here that we feel this connection with. :)

There are people who feel connected for many reasons. One main reason is point of view. And some connections are comfortable as well. I find it normal for you to be connected to someone here. It is not impossible. I have a few connections amongst a few sites I use. So it is normal. Thats why the internet is so powerful. We would have never known these people if it were not for the internet. Think of it as knowing them in real life and growing up with them. Its the same thing.

Thats why MyLot Rocks!!!! I have met some great people here as well. I do feel connected to some of them in the way you speak of. It is a good feeling also. I think some of us here actually bond as if we knew them all our life. Hey Now!!!!

I agree with you. We are usually on the same page with things, the person always says the right thing at the right time, they are a comfort to me, and I feel like I have known them forever. I am so glad I am here because I have gotten to know some amazing people through this site. =)

Generally speaking, I believe we are all interconnected somehow. Even with the environment, all our action will have some kind of consequences too to the environment. While if we restrict such connection to the one between people, yes I do felt that I am connected with someone I do not know of. I believe it may be that the person somehow has certain characteristics which someone I knew before had. This creates a feeling of familiarity between people.

Yeah it is strange sometimes to have such connections with people we have never met. But its a good feeling just the same. :)

I have read that sometimes we feel attacted or connected to people who have the similar face or features to us. Or maybe if he or she has the similar personality to us. Usually that is why, which can explain some of unexplainable attraction.

Yeah when you share the same views as others it is easy to talk to them and feel a connection to them...I most definitely have a connection here on MyLot, I feel blessed to have gotten to know this person.

I felt that way the very first time I met Elaine. It was like we'd been friend's since the beginning of time! It was a lot like that when I met my friend Maggiepie, except we were more like sisters. But not so much the first few times, just the first time we got to actually talk without anyone else around.

I think everyone feels this one at one time or another. From starting this I now realize its a lot more common than I thought. I wish I could meet this person face to face but I doubt that will ever happen...

We can never underestimate the power of words as words do have magical power to create special feelings that draw people together. We are in the fantasy world so no harm in enjoying that fantasy feelings for the sake of entertainment.

Words are a very powerful thing your right. I have connected with them most definitely but I think they would think I was crazy if they knew I was talking about them! Lol.

It happens. I have had similar feelings plenty of times. That feeling that you want to talk to them, meet them, and if it weren't for the fact you were pretty sure you've never met they just speak to you in ways that call to you. It is hard to understand why but at the same time it is usually because when you are down or even just being silly, the person tends to think along the same wavelength that you happen to be on. Someone who has experienced things in life similar to yours and it is easy to obtain that connection to them.

i can relate. as if i am affectionately involve with that person. maybe because simply i just like him or her like my younger sister or brother. and that there are really times that somehow you have connections and as if i know this person and have seen or met him/her already even the two of you just see each other in that moment. and not only that, i had this experience some experiences that seems already happening to me before or that kind of feeling; reminding you and made you think and said - hey, it happened to me before, just felt that. so thanks for this :)
• Valdosta, Georgia
15 Mar 13
Yeah, I don't feel like they are my brother or sister but I do feel like I have known them for a very long time. And they have always been there for me when I needed it. They always just say what I need to hear. I wish we could meet but I know that is not possible...

Yeah that happened when I met my husband also. I felt like I knew him already. My husband said he felt the same too and he said he had a dream about me before we met and he knew what I looked like already! That was pretty cool.
