I had a dream

Mt Adams I think

I had a dream last night of caves, and magic, of monsters and mayhem. And yes I am working on writing it. Maybe there is a book there, it feels like their might be, only time will tell. I have the gist of it down so that no matter what I can get what I want out of it, no forgetting this one. Oh it's already faded and I have lost details, but I think that's ok, the story is there. Hubby heard back on that one job, some kind of bs automated no email, no reason why, not even a decent responce. I begin to think he was blackballed in that field, there was no reason for that no. This is all he has done since highschool, so finding something that pays the same so we can survive here may be impossible. Sigh.

I got so many e-mails like that when I was looking for work for two years. I'm sorry he's going through that and hope something turns up soon. I doubt he's been blackballed, though you never know why a company won't go to the next step in the interview process. My prayers are with you.

well he decided he was going to get his references and then use them as his past job, and request they not talk to his company but his immediate management. see how that goes

It may be a great story - and great stories come from fantasies and dreams. But for the sake of translation I looked up caves and monsters in a dream dictionary my friend wrote. This what I got, ironically they are related. Cave - a place of hiding and comfort, primitive and basic; going back to Mother Earth for protection; hide away and meditate; pregnancy. What is caving in? Monster - Something feared; getting blown out of proportion; an overactive imagination; a picture of your fears; facing your inner demons; feeling threatened; leading a dull life; a person who is acting monstrous. What or who might not be as frightening as you imagined? Obviously your current situation comes to mind, doesn't it? (not the pregnancy part - unless of course you may be pregnant which would just exacerbate your current situation). You're going through a rough time. You want to seek comfort, hid away from it all; you want protection from the monster that is currently threatening your life. If you can make a story out of it, the more power to you. Authors writer in metaphors. A dream dictionary would come in hand for that. I have mine beside me because I am going to use it for a section in my novel pertaining to turtles.

no preggers, which while we have wanted to be and still do, this would NOT be a good time financially to be, but yeah current situation? Totally.

@Jessicalynnt Yeah at least you have a start on it and you can go from there. Have you got any of you work published? I've never thought to ask you before.

I've never dreamt of monsters. At least not as a grown-up.

Hope he finds something. The mountain photo is purdy. Reminds me of Rainier. Where is that?

@Jessicalynnt There are a lot of purdy mountains in Washington, but Rainier is quite distinctive.

That's too bad to hear about the job - I am assuming it was a job application? Hope something else turns up. I agree that we can have some crazy dreams. It would definitely be cool if you can remember most of it and put it into writing.

I am sure he will find something. Employers are weird, I have had interviews for things I've never done in my life. And then rejections for things I have done lots in my life. The selection criteria is never the same for the same job across an industry. Some time, the hiring manager might feel the role is 2 junior for you, and they don't want you to covet their jobs.

@Jessicalynnt I think the hiring criteria has a lot to do with the "company culture".. some companies value "rockstars", others just wants a good "soldier". and they consciously select for that.. just not much you can do.. I guess you can really "play up to the type" that gets the job.. question is, do you want to?

@Drosophila if you can figured it out, but then you have a point, if it doesnt fit, it prob would make you miserable, still having food on the table is also kinda imp
