As a kid setting off fireworks was special. Now so many communities use them so often, they just are not as special, although the displays are much more spectacular. I am out the door to have supper with my kids and go to a fireworks show. Tomorrow will be a day that I can spend more time here. Happy Independence Day to the USA!!

I did have fun. We had a cover band playing their renditions of lots of oldies. I was disappointed that there was no patriotic music.

Have fun at the fireworks. I'm staying home and watching them on TV. The local station puts on the live event from downtown.

Much more comfortable seating than we had, but it was nice to be with family.

I know exactly what you mean. They were a special treat when I was young, but now they are used much more often.

@GardenGerty I remember getting a small box of fireworks on Bonfire Night, which was something special.

I'm still waiting for that day that I can spend more time here....hopefully today after I wake up. The only place I should have to go is to clean the church.

Happy 4th to ya! I remember looking forward to fireworks after a bbq in the back yard - but they've been banned out here from years ago. My kids will never get to enjoy that - but on the flip side at least they will be safe from any accidents like we hear about on the news! We're making a picnic and going out to see a fireworks show too later tonight too!

This photo was from a display around a lake in a park. It is flooded this year so the display was near a sports complex. I like by the lake better. Beautiful reflected in the water.

The fireworks we had across the street from our house last night were amazing! It wasn't expected to have front row seats to the display but it was the perfect ending to our date night. =)

I always enjoy a good fireworks show. We live way away from civilization and don't see them now though.

Enjoy the spectaculars and outdoor activities. It's a pretty good day a bit humid but blessed to be here another day.

Next year we may not go out. It was fun, but also late for hubby who must work tomorrow.

I wish the little towns would get together here, and have one larger one, rather than tons of small ones

Sale of fireworks is illegal in Australia but we certainly have some spectacular displays from time to time in our big cities.

We went to a new spot last night to see fireworks. The display was really good. The traffic to leave wasn't so good... took us 30 minutes just to get out of the parking lot, and another 15 minutes before we went over 5mph.

Fire works are spectacular and good. But too many smoke is not good to health.
