So now she snores!

It is now ten days since Chicca's new bed arrived (the one that I bought with my myLot earnings as explained in an earlier post) and she loves it! Every evening when I turn off the computer, the television and the light in the lounge, she knows it is bed time and she runs to her new bed (which is in my bedroom) and purrs away, waiting for me to finish in the bathroom. I turn off the bedroom light and before I am asleep, she is. How do I know? Because she snores! I have had several cats throughout my life but never one that snored! Do your cats snore too? I sleep all night and she never disturbs me and when I stir in the morning she comes on my bed purring but never starts insisting about her breakfast until I am out of bed and out of the bathroom and on my way to the kitchen The quality of the pic is not too good as I took it with only the bedside light turned on

@sjvg1976 You don't need pets, you have your kids, enough to keep you busy.

@mysdianait for the small number of pets we have actually possessed, our store of pet stories is enormous.

I think animals do it but not all of them. But I never heard a snoring of cat.I admit I have no pets at home at present. But in my childhood we had all pets at home including cats.

Maybe they all do if they are sleeping soundly but this for me was the first time to hear a cat snoring, even though I have had cats almost all of my life.

It seems to be that Chicca loves her new bed. I have got 2 cats but none of them snores. And it's so good that she doesn't disturb you at night.

Depending on how he sleeps our Dog snores a little bit but not very much. He sounds funny. She looks lovely on that little bed which is really cute. I would not mind her snoring at all either.

Her bed is adorable! In fact, I think that her bed is nicer than mine! My dog snores horribly. In fact, there have been times when he has snored so loudly that he has startled himself awake!

Hahahahaha Hers is not very loud as she is tiny so I doubt that would happen. That bed came from Ikea ans they might have them bigger too. It was made for dolls but she fits there too

@mysdianait Oh that is such a smart idea! I think that bed works much better for Chicca than for a dumb doll. My current dog is a pug, which is really just a cat on steroids.

I thought she might not use it but instead she has been in it every night since it arrived! I don't think I would sleep if a dog was snoring as it must be so much louder than her she she snores.

@mysdianait I don't let the dog sleep with me.. He usually sleeps with the younger boys, at the foot of my youngest son's bed. When hubby sleeps on the sofa the dog might sleep in between his legs.

@rebelann She has no other signs of having a problem so I think it is just a deep sleep thing. If I notice anything that might make me suspect a problem then I will whip her off to the vet!

That's a pretty good shot for a cell phone @mysdianait I did want to mention that if your kitty snores she may have a nasal problem that makes it hard for her to breath.

@LadyDuck Yes I guess she is dreaming and sleeping deeply shen she snores though I wonder what she dreams about She doesn't go outside so she has no way of meeting other cats (or mice) and is only interested in her food and her toys.

I think she has no control over the snoring so we won't count that Her bed is in a position where she can see me, In fact I took the pic when I was already in bed. I think that if I had placed it anywhere else she would probably not have taken to it so well.

@mysdianait We went to a great deal of trouble to try to build steps for our son's cat so she could go in and out the bathroom window instead of waking him up every time she wanted to go out but she won't use them.

we don't have cats, but dogs and puppies. guess what? our dogs snore as well. a few minutes ago while i was watching TV, i heard a small and soft snore, somewhat quarreling with another, and when i turned my head, it was Paris, the puppy, sleeping under the table, supine, and snoring softly.

As he is a puppy, does he just fall asleep wherever he happens to be when he is tired? I had heard dogs snoring before but this is the first time that I hear a cat.

Paris dreaming and barking
@mysdianait oh, yes, Ma'am. when the 4 puppies follow me wherever i go, they also get tired. last night, my son called me softly, and pointed at one that was sleeping under my chair, and her position was--- unexplainable, and yes, she snored as if she was dreaming about running around.

Oh, but that just means she is ever so content . .. what a sweet pic! We don't have cats . . . but I've heard my friends' cats go in a deep purr - that's different though. We house sat once for a friend and they had a gigantic Doberman who snored real loud . . . one would swear it was a man!

Really? It means she is happy? Then I am wondering why my previous cats didn't snore as they were happy too - or so it seemed. She now purrs too, in the mornings after breakfast is her 'lap time' and she loves that and goes quite daft and purrs like mad Her snoring is totallu different though and I find it so funny Gosh I would not go a near a Doberman. I am scared stiff of them!
