updates on JJ, edited 5/21

Just stopped by to note that family of JJ on FB is noting that he is indeed in the hospital, and that he has gone into kidney failure and is on dialysis. This was posted an hour ago. I am assuming someone is keeping an eye on Scar, and such.
I figure as this was a public post there, I would stop by and share it here. I know he has MANY friends on here.

He is still in the hospital, has no cell reception in his room, so he cannot update (his brother did a few hours ago). There is a number to call if you want (if you have his facebook page you can find this post). Doctors are saying the kidneys just shut down a few days ago (no decline just on and then off) and his body is not producing urine at all. They haven't started dialysis yet, but his brother suspects that will be doon- 5/20 @ 11am CST

Scar is doing well, got some outside time, (FB even had some yard-patrol photos).
He was doing better yesterday afternoon, they are still holding up on dialysis, still sounds like they are trying to figure out whats up with the kidneys.- 5/21 @ 8am

He lives in his dad's house. Dad lives elsewhere but comes by daily and will feed scar and let him out for a bit. Michael is in Vincennes Hospital.

@JohnRoberts Maybe his dialysis is free , I hope for it is so costly in our country, per shot per week is more or less $ 150. My friend's mom is on a dialysis maintenance for almost 6 years now.

@cacay1 there are some things for dialysis being free over here too, but as he is in the hospital now, that part prob isnt, still they cannot turn you down for normal life saving stuff even if you cant pay

Poor Scar is not just scared @BarBaraPrz the poor guy is confused because now he's alone when before he always had his hoomin. I get the feeling JJ is just as concerned about him as he is for himself, I hope he'll be home likity split.

I had no idea he was ill. I haven't known him very long but I was looking forward to getting to know him better. He will be in my prayers, and thank you for updating us all!

@TheHorse so far, nothing, he is doing a bit better, but they dont know whats going on that caused the kidneys to stop, although I think maybe they are doing a bit of something now, he did pee finally

@Jessicalynnt Yah, it's not like the seasonal "flu" . . . it's going to be something he will have to take care of forever. I really hope he's ok and hangin' in there . . . I wouldn't be surprised if he were trying to myLot from the hospital!

well this is more, get back on your feet and figure out maintenance, once those kidneys go, you are stuck with dialysis and stuff, but yeah

As someone else said his dad will be taking care of Scar for him. I am praying for him. I hope he will be okay. =(

the sad thing is, that makes your life expectancy drop to 5-10 years, some ppl have managed 20 but it's not common. once the kidneys stop, you only have a week or 2 without it, and the damage can be bad if you dont get it soon enough, so I think that's why everyone sounded so concerned atm

That's really sad. I hope they are able to do something at the hospital. The first priority for him needs to be taking care of himself. i know he was stressed about medicine and the possibility of him not being able to afford it, but this is much worse than i assumed it would be.

well dialysis I THINK is still free, the hospital stay not so much, but he can send them like a fiver a month and they can't do anything to him, as long as he pays something
