Breakfast? January 13th.

While we usually hear about what wonderful meals we all have at dinnertime I don`t see many breakfast posts, so, that got me to thinking what people eat for the first meal of each day. I skip breakfast a lot, or maybe that is not true, maybe I just have a later breakfast, ya know like after I have been up and going 2 or 3 hours. I been thinking about what to eat. I really shouldnt do carbs to jack my morning blood sugar because I will feel slow and blah all day, that means no cereal, oats or grits. No muffins or bagels, no toast and jam. No biscuits and gravy. Protein filled breakfast? Eggs and bacon seems to be popular, sausage or steak, oh and the pork chop! One question, What does a diabetic vegetarian eat for breakfast?
This song by "The Newbeats" was released in 1964 and reached to number 2 in the U.S, and also number 15 in the UK charts...

That is a good question, I wouldn't know though! I usually have my first meal around noon, and today I did have bacon and an egg.

Me too but I cant remember the last time I had real bacon, at one time I was addicted to bacon and my cholesterol was 330 and that was the wake up call for me, the doc put me on a no meat diet.

Try to find something that works well for you. I do best by not eating breakfast, at least for now.

I have to get most of my sugary food eaten in the morning (because there's a risk of sleep apnea if I eat it in the afternoon or evening). That, and I'm mostly on a 2-meal-a-day plan (some guy at 'a church I went to' said 2-meals-a-day is healthier, plus I'm not a very active person so I don't need as many 'calories per day')

@andriaperry I don't either; but I probably SHOULD, because I'm often tempted to eat too LITTLE.
It is possible to eat too little fat, since humans have to have some fat to maintain vital body functions. When a person eats too...

They say they need breakfast, half an hour after waking up. The breakfast should be strong and then it can be eaten and something unhealthy, because the metabolism is accelerated and it is believed that the calories we have taken for breakfast will be spent.

High blood sugar can kill me so I don`t care about calories, diabetes are not supposed to eat many carbs.

Maybe a diabetic vegetarian would have cornbread and beans. Of course the cornbread would still be too high in carbs. Veggies of all kinds, maybe? I do not omit carbs, but try to balance with protein. I had a breakfast casserole that had O'brien potatoes, sausage and gravy and cheese. Two eggs on the side. 4 oz. of juice.

I could never eat much in the mornings, I just never have. I do eat more veggies and fruits on the morning. Bananas are one that I should not eat much but I do.

I don't really have a proper breakfast regiment. I drink water with apple cider vinegar first thing. Later I might have water with chia seeds but for sure I will have my green tea. I will eat a handful of dandelion leaves, or one date. But all this is because I am on the go in the mornings . . . if I am home I might pig out and eat fridge leftovers .

During the week I usually enjoy a really small dish of granola and a coffee. On Sundays I go all out and make a big brunch, since we only eat 2 meals on Sundays, it is later, which is good because it takes me about an hour to prepare it. Today I will fry up bacon, and 3 sausages for my husband. I will make him toast and eggs-sunny side up, while I'll have a waffle with some fresh (warmed) fruit with my bacon. I don't know if I enjoy preparing Sunday morning brunches more or if I enjoy eating them more. Its the clean up which is never high on my list of happy moments.
