Yes, I can't say I am with you but one can somewhat visualise your protective feeling for the kids. My concern is how those who have undergone this trauma, manage to stop others from exploiting their condition...

I think the answer is to switch to the "survivor" stage as early and quick as possible or the mental trauma just doesn't go.

How long can you be around the kids - you have to let them grow on their own. I have visualised and counselled cases where the mental trauma was due to the exploitation of trust between colleagues/ friends.

Yes, it is the mind that sometimes causes the trouble, but as "ravenladyj" explained it - the sooner you turned from the victim to the survivor stage - the better. And as you said it - it affects us in a variety of ways............
