Fresh Peach Cobbler

Fresh Peaches are finally becoming available. We just love fresh peach cobbler. Fresh Peaches just make the best cobbler and it is so easy to make. It is so frugal to make homemade cobbler instead of purchasing one and it is so much better tasting also. This recipe is just a wonderful change from any cobbler you may have had as the crust is not really a pie crust, but more like a cake. I love making my cobblers like this and have many different recipes using this kind of crust. The batter rises around the peaches and is golden brown when done. To test for doneness, you can use the toothpick test. When inserted in the crust it will come out clean if done. I usually just take it out of the oven when it is browned nicely. Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do and don’t forget to add that scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream on the top. Yummy Buttermilk Peach Cobbler 1 cup flour 1 cup buttermilk 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup melted butter 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder Mix until smooth. Pour into the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Set aside. About 3 cups of fresh sliced peaches or more if desired or you can use 2 large cans peaches without juice 1 cup sugar 2 tsp. cinnamon ( I mix this into the sugar) Mix together. Put peaches into the batter. Do not stir. Top evenly with the sugar cinnamon mixture. Put into preheated 350 degree oven and bake until golden brown, about 30 to 45 minutes. I served this with ice cream or Whipped topping on top

I haven't had breakfast yet, and I love peach cobbler. It looks to be pretty simple. I have both peaches and nectarines on hand, but maybe not enough. I will look into getting some at the store, as they have tasted exceptionally good this year. There is also a peach orchard less than an hour away, I may have to make a trip there soon, but only when I have other errands in that direction, so I do not waste the trip. Maybe I will just cut the recipe in half this morning, and surprise hubby when he comes home from a job interview. I love your frugal recipes. Are you considering writing a cook book? You could, you know.

I love it when I can find recipes for thinkgs my family will eat that wont make me run to the store. Ths is great because it is mostly stuff we have in our pantry and we can make up in a quick minute. My parents have a peach tree that is just beginning to get some giant peaches. They are the big and juicy. I cant wait to try this out.

The recipes that I post have been tried and tested and ultered by myself to meet our families needs. Most of the recipes that I publish are easy to make from things that are already in the pantry. I love cooking the country style and from scratch. Hope you enjoy this cobbler

wooo~~~! the recipe looks so good! Man, I really missed those days where I can just go to the kitchen, whip out my mixing bowl and bake something really nice to eat. Will have to save extra hard to get that oven in my new kitchen! Can't wait to try out the recipe above. Canned peaches will do just as well right?

This sounds delicious. Unfortunately, we are in winter here, so no fresh peaches. Have you made it with canned peaches? Was wondering if it turned out the same. I will have to give it a go. It also sounds like something that i could do in my cafe, that will hopefully be opened in about a month. Best wishes to you, anne

Yes, in winter I have used canned peaches. Just make sure you drain the peaches well and add only about half the sugar.

Oooh this sounds sooo yummy. It makes me hungry just thinking about this. I will definately write this one down, and make it for a church get together. I am the only one in my family of 2 that likes peaches so I guess I will have to make it for get togethers etc. thank you for the recipe and have a great day.

Now this is right up my alley- I love peaches! They are probably my favorite fruit- Nice fresh- juicy peaches- when the fruit juice drips down your chin! YUM! I have never made cobbler – I printed this off and will give it a whirl this weekend when the heat breaks a little- It’s 90’s today- and high humidity! My whole family loves peaches- I’m sure this will be a big hit- Thanks for the recipe!

Oh, villageanne, why did you have to mention my favorite dessert just when I'm trying to diet? I love peach cobbler. It has always been my favorite. Since I quit baking so much, I will occasionally ask one of my daughters to make one for me.

Cobbler is one of my favorite desserts and is so easy to make. I haven't had peach cobbler in an age. Peaches will be in season very soon and I can't wait to try out your recipe. Hubby will enjoy this too. He is a big fan of fresh peaches. I would try to cut the recipe in half because it seems like a large amount using the full recipe.
