The Smell of Blueberry Muffins Fill the Air

I came home to an empty house today. Not that I minded having some peace and quiet to myself! My comfy rocking chair called my name and I was rewarded with a nice little nap. When hubby and our friend returned home they had a 6-lb bag of blueberries with them. To thank them I made a double batch of blueberry muffins. The aroma is wafting through the house. I am surprised they aren't both in the kitchen ready to wolf one or two down before they cool. What are your favorite ways to use fresh blueberries. Muffins, pies, coffee cake and just eating them one by one are a few of my favorites.

I have to sneak blueberries into the house and sneak them into freezer bags and freeze them and they have to last until the blueberry season comes again. My husband will not let me buy them. Even though they are the most healthiest fruit on this planet that grows on this continent, to my husband, they are too expensive. The rest of the time, I have to get them in yogurt mixed with blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries along with splenda or the other sweetener, although there is one with honey on it. So I do not want to put them with anything, except to take a handful and mix them with yogurt. But next year, I may be able to plant a blueberry bush.

I have wanted to get a couple of bushes to plant in our backyard. Hubby has promised that he would get me them, but never has. I guess I will have to do it myself.

I had planted a couple of blueberry bushes a few years ago but they didn't live. They didn't look very healthy when I planted them but I thought that I would give them a try anyway. I guess I'll need to get me a few more to plant next year. Hopefully I can get some of them to grow, and if I can get to them before the kids do, maybe I can even get a few of the fresh berries for myself.

I usually will put blueberries in my cereal or I will put them on my ice cream when I am eating dessert. I will also just eat them one by one. My parents always make blueberry pancakes for breakfast on the weekends. Blueberries are awesome. I also like the Blueberry Misto Shakes at Rita's Water Ice near me. LOL

I like to mix them with blackberries and make blueberry/blackberry squares. Or mix them with blackberries, heat them both, and have them with ice cream. I also like to make smoothies.

Ohh, can you send some over - could use some for comfort =) I like to have blueberrys with my icecream. Icecream, is very sweet and the blueberries makes it less so. I am not very fond of really sweet things =)

Did you hear that? That was my stomach growling as I read the title, LOL. Man I can so smell them! I love, excuse me in case you didn't hear that, LOVE blue berry muffins! I hate fruit, but blue berries aren't fruit are they? hmmmm I reckon they are, well they are the exception then. Fresh still warm from the oven blue berry muffins is one treat for me, let me tell ya. I could eat my weight in them, and that's a lot of eating, LOL.

I dearly love blueberries..! I normally eat them one at a time and on cereal when I get them; they're so expensive. You were so lucky to get 6 lbs. of them. I would love to have your recipe if you could PM me when you get the chance. I'ts almost midnite right now but I can imagine the smell of them as they baked and would eat one right now if it were in front of me...Yummy.

Yummy! I think my favorite is blueberrry pancakes, so yummy, but I love blueberry muffins as well. How about making a blueberry cake? You could make a regular cake batter and then add the blueberries! That just sounds so yummy, right?

To be honest, Elusive, I have not had too much experience with blueberries. Until my mother gave me a blueberry pie about 12 years ago, I can't remember having tasted them. I did really like the blueberry pie. After that she would bake blueberry muffins and I grew to love them. I can't explain why I've never bought any, but after I moved and was not too near her, I have not had them since. There are many things that I used to like and just don't buy anymore since I live alone. Thanks for reminding me how good they are. I will have to put them on my next shopping list.:D

I would want to just eat the berries, maybe make them frosty cold. Put them with creamy vanilla ice cream. Blend them up with vanilla yogurt for a smoothie. They are such a healthy treat. Yum.

Wow, I would love to have some fresh blueberries right now. If I had a good amount of them I would have to probably have a little of all of those things you mentioned. If not, I guess it would be a toss up. I really love blueberry pie and blueberry pancakes, and the coffee cake would be great too, but I guess I would probably end up making the blueberry muffins if I only had enough to make one. Of course I would have to eat a few of them plain while I was making the muffins.

Mmmmm... I Love the smell muffins baking :):):) ALthough I would eat a blueberry muffin here and there and sometimes eat fresh blueberries, I am afraid that blueberries are not exactly my favorite fruit - I do love raspberries or blackberries. As for how I use them I prefer them fresh with a sprinkle of sugar , or as a topping for ice cream or yogurt. I don't really like fruit inside cakes and other than apple pie I don't really like fruit pies.

I love the smell of our home when I bake. Also when I make baked ham or certain soups. It just makes the whole place seem comfy. AT PEACE WITHIN

I love fresh blueberries. I love to make blueberry pancakes with them or just eat them by themselves. I just made banana muffins and the house smells great.
