my hubby likes to fish so i go with him fishing everywhere he wants to go fishing and most of the time i don't catch anything even if i try really hard. i guess im not good with it. anyway, just yesterday when we went out to go fishing in the stream i caught my first trout! it bit so hard that i don't know what to do, but my husband said to play with it for a while until it gets tired, i didn't really expect i would catch a trout that day. its my first trout actually, i did catch some different fish b4 but not rainbow trout. it's pretty and i was so happy, the feeling is just great to catch a fish. my husband helped me reeled it in. it's a 1foot trout with nice pinkish color. i will never forget that day because it's our anniversary. hehehe. if you want to see my 1st trout that i caught just view the pic here. Who else likes to go out fishing here?

Congratulations Claire!!
Did you find it to be a good feeling? I think its exciting when you catch a fish. My dad used to take us fishing all the time when we were kids. I sure do miss that. My husband hates fishing, but loves to eat the fish! Lol
My dad is retired, and stays in the Colorado Rockies, he catches rainbow trout daily and he always sounds so excited when I talk to him and hes telling me how many he caught. You can really tell from his voice that he is enjoying life and retirement. Makes me feel good even! That give me a thought to call and talk to him! hehe

How exciting for you! Congratulations on your anniversary, too.
I remember the first rainbow trout I caught - I was very excited, until my uncle told me I had to clean it. But I did it, and I cooked it for dinner that night.

Congratulations on your first fish!
I wish my wife was happy to come fishing with me! My first ever catch was also a rainbow trout. It was really by chance that I caught it. I went for a picnic and day on the lake with my brother and our wives. While my brother was messing around with another rod, I stuck a worm on a hook and gave it a little try. The feeling when the fish took it and started pulling was amazing.
My brother came to help me unhook it and the fool dropped it in the water and it swam away. It was a good size too, about 2lb and 20 inches or so long. It wasn't just the fish that got hooked that day, I got hooked on fishing and have loved it ever since. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't have the patience to try it and wouldn't like to be away from the shops for a whole day!
I go fishing with friends instead and it gives me a little time-out for myself too.
Congratulations again.

Thats cool its a great feeling when you catch a fish. I love fishing I started a few weeks ago I go right on the beach in maine but I dont get to go every weekend because it depends on the tide like the best time to go is high tide and usally around 5 or 6 pm when no one is there and if its not high tide then then I cant go because I will not go out at 6am lol the water is way to cold.

LOL congratulations :):)
I don't go fishing much, we're not really big fans, but sometimes we go fishing with some friends and it's fun.
I never really catch much fish ( or any sometimes LOL ) but it's usually a good time. Hubby doesn't enjoy it much but he can catch fish even when sleeping - he feels asleep once and woke up because the fishing rod fell on top of him - there was a fish at the other end LOL

i have friends who have a passion for sport fishing. i personally cannot understand the thrill or catching something alive. take for example, would anyone enjoy running in the backyard after a chicken and be happy when they caught it. minus the tiredness from the running, maybe not. so the next best thing is to sit quietly, and fish. after an hour or so, walla! a poor fishing being drag out of its environment and struggling to keep itself alive! ahhhh joy!
this is like people who cannot understand why a group of men, stands int he hot sun, hit a small ball as far as they can and follow the ball and repeat the same thing over and over again. golf. stupid to some people but its a heck of a game to me!
so congratulations on your first catch, and for the many more to come!
*everyone has their own joy button.

I dont like fishing at all. I can stand and wait for so long it drives me mad I need to jump and walk around and fast action. I have said it so many times I could lay down and watch the grass grow but I cant fish. Part of it was my father used to take me fishing with him and I wasnt allowed to go in the water and I was bored out of my brain. Now that I am married we do go fishing but I make the food, play with my son, go for walks or read.

I've only been fishing a handful of times in my life, but i liked it. my husband and i have often talked about getting our fishing licenses and going, but we just never seemed to find the time. and now we have 3 young kids and it would be challenging to take them all along. plus i think its pretty expensive for your license and we might only get to go one time which wouldn't be worth it.
