We used to get squirrels in out attic. I know a lot of people think squirrels are cute, but really it was just gross - like have big rats in the ceiling. The only thing we could do to get rid of them was cut down all the trees with branches touching our roof.

Ah, falling branches from trees reaching over your house can make thumps.

Acorns dropping from an oak tree can also make a surprising noise.

But this morning I heard something that was obviously squirrels hopping across our roof. I have no idea what they were doing, but they seemed to be playing with each other. Maybe they were looking for acorns they stashed up there earlier in the year. I dunno.

Aw those squirrels they can be little rasclas sometimes. It is funny to watch them eat out of birdfeeders becasue they will hang upside down on them and every which way to get to the food.

We don't have many squirrels to get on our roof but I see them on top of the kids swingset outside a lot of times.

They took over my parents attic last year. In every room almost we could hear them, and they chewed a hole so you could see one pop its head through a hole while you stood in front of the house. Moth balls got rid of them, but the damage was done. If only it had been Alvin, Simon, and Theodre.

Dont you just hate those noises on the roof.
We get a lot of birds on our roof,and honestly sometimes they sound like a person in a pair of hobnail boots up there.
Fancy them eating your bird seed cheeky little monkeys.
Hubby used to feed possums when he was a kid, and was always being told not to do it.
Well they went out for the day and when they got home the possums have demolished the food in the kitchen.

I think squirrels or any other animal looks for easy food in the winter time, it doesn't surpise me, so now that you took their food away I have to ay they are probably very dipleaed with you and the fact you took their food away and are letting you know....

I wish i had some easy answers for you on how to make squirrels happy,

Guess they are a bit greedy this time of the year. Stealing bird food from those innocent, little birds. The nerve of those squirrels. I can hear them on our roof once in awhile but all that is up there are shingles. Doubt that fits into their diet!
