Have you ever played tennis? |
|
I took playing tennis up when i was younger, I used to set a court up in my parents back yard and played my brother. sometimes an older kid from next door would come around and it was fun playing him because he was 17ish and around the time I was 13 or so and he could never beat me. (even though he had won contests and I hadn't)
Have you ever played tennis? I'm much better at badminton myself. ~Joey

joey_matthews (5037) | 2 years ago | I second that.
My friend once bragged during senior school that the game was easy, while I was at the top end of the gym he was stuck at the bottom and couldn't beat anyone to move up. <-- he was better at badminton and that was a contest between us in our group.
Hehe.. I think we all are, the slow pace of the shuttle was it alot easier even when it with pace. the tennis ball can go past without seeing it lol ~Joey

stephcjh (22600) | 2 years ago | LOL. I hate it when the ball comes and you go to hit it and miss. It makes ya feel like some kind of fool with no eyes LOL. You end up hitting nothing but air and have to go hunt that ball down when it finally lands and stops rolling LOL. I always made sure we had plenty of balls so we didn't have to go get that same ball over and over again when we miss or knock it way off course LOL. It is still very fun to try to play. I always loved volleyball the most in school and I played that along with basketball when I was younger.

joey_matthews (5037) | 2 years ago | Hehe.
I personally hate when you hit it, but it flies away funnily. During my younger years I had the habit of hitting the person I was playing, more than I was actually getting inside the zones.
That's awesome, I love basketball but I wasn't all that good from long distance. I could make the basket easily, just bounced and fell the wrong side and not in! ~Joey

stephcjh (22600) | 2 years ago | LOL. I didn't have much problem with hitting other people wit the ball. I was lucky to hit the ball or keep it on the court LOL. I liked basketball and played on a team in elementary but my all time favorite was volleyball. I won alot of games with that sport and alot of games I was the only person serving the ball over the net. I used to be very good at it, but it has been a very long time since I played but I still like to watch it on television also.

2. OreoCookie3 (18478) | 2 years ago | I tried playing tennis but wasn't any good at it.. but I did play badminton. I loved it. I wish I still had the net, rackets and little birdies...I'd play again. I finally gave my tennis balls and rackets away to my friend's kids to play with.

joey_matthews (5037) | 2 years ago | That was nice of you to give them away!
My first racket was given to me from a friend of my mums, I wasn't much into tennis in the early days but me and my brother had a fierce riveraly at playing sports. I had to beat him too lol
It's nice to see another one who like badminton! I've made the wrong discussion wink.
take care! ~Joey

3. wolfie34 (13865) | 2 years ago | The last time I played was probably back at school when I was fourteen/fifteen, I hated it but it was either a choice of that or cricket, I choose tennis the less boring of the two, I was useless at it, and we used to muck around and I don't think we played proper tennis, just used the tennis racquets as weopens or pretend light sabres (yes I was a Star Wars fan! still am!) I am not a sports person full stop.

joey_matthews (5037) | 2 years ago | Lol...
I once saw someone through a racket when a bully got beaten, he decided to know it at the other lad. I hated when that sort of thing happened, even though it wasn't uncommon I was just thankful I was always near the top!
I'm not a star wars fan, I don't recall watching it fully. I hated LOTR until I watched all three! ~Joey

4. Transdisc (18489) | 2 years ago | It sounds like you had a lot of fun when you were younger, joey. I have not so much played tennis as played at tennis. I did enjoy it when I played and I wish I put more time into because it seems like a lot of fun and great exercise.

I hate watching it but I do love and wish I could play more often. It keeps you on your toes and is easier than other sports, while still remaining challenging.
Kudos! ~Joey

5. Lydia1901 (15711) | 2 years ago | I played once or twice but not so much anymore since I graduated from high school. It is a very fun sport and I will pick it up again someday when I do find time.

joey_matthews (5037) | 2 years ago | It is great fun.
One of the reasons why I love sport is that most are addictive and fun to play. I know many who'd disagree but that's because they either don't open themselves to play or aren't very good. I think it's great for anyone:)
I hope you do pick it up someday too ~Joey

10. SuzyPuppyChese (567) | 2 years ago | I played a lot of tennis in my teen years, but not competitively -- just for fun. I loved it! We lived right across the parking lot from our high school. So we got a lot of use out of the tennis and basketball courts.
It's a fun game and you get a lot of exercise even if you're not good at it. Maybe more if you're not good at it haha. . .running after the ball! One fun memory is that we carried our tennis balls in my dad's purple Crown Royal bags his booze came in, lol.
