What if Jesus really does come back? | | | | -This is a very touchy subject for many people so here is my disclaimer. When I talk about "Christ Religions" and the like, I mean -most-... not all christians/catholics or thier many offshoots. I have met many delughtfull christians and catholics, but I am sorry to say that in my experience, most have been very judgmental and condescending. This does not go for EVERYONE of course.- Ok here goes. Many sects of the Christ Religions believe that one day Jesus will return to Earth from a platform of clouds to collect all those faithfull and take them to paradise. Depending on who you talk to, that time is coming soon, but thats a whole different discussion. I was pondering this idea, and as a gay man who considers himself neo-pagan... I got really scarred. What if the bible was right, and Jesus comes back and sees inside my heart and soul? He will know that I rally against the corruption of his church and the tides of brainwashed followers. (I do not mean to offend... it is only my opinion that the church has turned the beatiful message of Jesus into a tool for domination and control ever since the bible was written). I know I would be one of those left behind because I have not accepted Jesus as my personal savior, and I never will. I follow a path much older and more personal, and its MY true beliefe. The path my heart tells me to follow. I am a good person, I am kind, I am generous, and my life is full of love that I recieve as well as send out in infinite directions. It dosent seem fair that everyone else gets to experience paradise just because they claim to have let Jesus into thier heart. So.... perhaps I should change. Perhaps I should go against everything I have ever stood for all my life and convert. Who would want to miss out on a chance for eternal life in paradise?? ........ then I though about the kind of people I would be spending that eternity with. Jerry Falwell. Ann Coulter. George Bush. Pope Benedict. My boyfriends Mother. *shudder* Suddenly the idea of Jesus coming back and taking all these people away sounds like exactly what I have been waiting for. Ever since the first time someone waved a Bible in my face and told me I am abomonation and going to Hell. Every person who judged me not by the content of my heart, but by the content of my bed. Every person who told me I am gay because the Devil is in me, and every person who told me I will burn in hell with all the witches who came before me... druids, wise women and gypsies. Suddenly the idea of eternity with these people sounds more like Hell than anything I can think of. I'm sorry Jesus, I think your a great guy. If it was just you I was running away with, I would SOO ditch this popsickle stand. But the people you will be taking with you leave much to be desired... I'll stay behind with all the other Pagans, Scientists, witches and free thinkers. What about you? If Hesus came back would you want to go with him, or stay? | | | | | | | | | | Religious School Affordable, Online Religion Training. Request Free Info Today! EarnMyDegree.com/Religion

| | Your thoughts are much like mine! When I was younger and being told I was going to hell, I would say "Will you be there?" to which the person asking would of course reply no, and then I would say "That's okay then." Because honestly I have no desire to spend eternity with a bunch of people who hate me for no reason than that I follow a different path, or fall in love with people of either gender, or just don't fit in with their idea of what's proper. As far as I'm concerned, Jesus could come and stand right in front of me and ask me to follow him, and I would say "I have a prior commitment" because... I do. It's not anything against Jesus, he said some really cool stuff. But he hasn't been the one who has been with me through all my problems, and he hasn't been the one who gave me strength when no human had yet been kind to me. So he has no claim on me. *shrugs* | | | | | | | II2aTee (845)

| | I wish I could say I have paganism in my roots, but all I have is suspicions. When my Great Aunt died my father and I were cleaning out her attic and found some very... interesting antiques. I will maintain to this day she was a closet witch. She had an outlawed copy of Albertus Magnus: Egyption Secretes of Light and Dark Arts.. or something like that. I still have the book and keep it for nostalgic reasons. My fathers side is Native American, and all growing up I had no idea how accepting of homosexuality the Native Americans were. In fact, they used to believe that homosexuals were blessed... calling them "double spirited". Most of the wisemen or medicine women were chosen because of this quality. So I was shocked when my Grandmother smiled and hugged me when I told her about my boyfriend. I was not expecting it... but she told me what it means in our heritage and that was when I started to not be ashamed of myself anymore and started to take pride. Ahh well, I have gone off topic. Wait no I havent... I would want to be with all those Native AMerican heathens than the bible thumpers any day of the week. | | | | | | | Religious School Affordable, Online Religion Training. | | Hi 112aTee, Thank you for this post, I need a good laugh once in a while, and you sure know how to provide it. I agree, there are a lot of Christians, I wouldn't want to spend eternity with either. The teachings of Jesus Christ, and I doubt if we have anywhere near all of them, are good except where they have been distorted. Many Christians pay little attention to his teachings but change things to suit themselves. I must hasten to add that there are many good Christians out there, and I have the pleasure of knowing a few. They do not judge others, nor do they condemn. I'm sure if they spend eternity in Hell, they will make it into a heaven. Blessings. | | | | | | | II2aTee (845)

| | Your most welcome Pose, and yes... I know many Christians, and even a FEW Catholics (haha) who are just wonderfull and accepting and open minded... Thats why I put the disclaimer. They are unfortunatly in the minority, though, it seems. Or at least they are the least vocal. If you really want a chuckle this whole question formed when I read a bumper sticker the other day that said "Jesus is coming! Quick - everybody look busy!" Then it just snowballed from there..... | | | | flowerchilde (8074)

| | ..yes it's too bad that so many christians have attitudes which have caused a whole new bias or prejudism (not you! since you put in your disclaimer, and also the above poster) - Christianity is the life of Jesus and the words he spoke. Of course christianity has been around for 2000 years, has been passed through many human hands, and is made up of humans, therefore (it's my strong belief) that it has lost some of its "good news" - AND - has picked up some baggage along the way. -- If I may, please consider this, and I'll try to be brief - The reason life is as it is, is because thinking ability was endowed (to angel and man) which of course sooner or later includes choice. So that all would take this unavoidable journey and lesson all together, once for all time and eternity, the deity waited a very long (long!) time for the bound-to-occur first rebel thought, to not only occur, but to ripen into outright rebellion, trickery and sedition before he created human beings.. hence the trickery in 'tiny' Eden.. which caused the first parents/humans to choose something other than the deity (who is both Life (itself), and Perfection/Excellence). But as soon as one chooses anything other than what Perfection/Life chooses, they begin the journey away from Perfection/Life. Once one becomes imperfect they cannot reverse their journey and become Perfect, for they are now imperfect. And thus Life's opposite, death, 'came to be'. [Also, as soon as the deity endowed thinking ability a whole new world, or tree, of possibilities 'came to be', thus there was that odd tree out in the garden of Eden, as of course the deity being Perfect, can only be true/honest.] -- This is why one of the things the bible says is that the Son's coming and overcoming death (for all of us! His checking this journey away from Life) was built right into everything and was decided upon before thinking/'free-will' was even ever endowed. See it's all done. Death has been overcome. Period. (For all of us imperfect humans and angels. 1 Tim 4:10 and Colossians 1:19,20) -- The point I'm making is, having read the back of the book, the phrase christians put a lot of stock on "those not believing will go to the second death" is only spoken, and heard by the people, only AFTER, they have [1] experienced having been "resurrected" and [2] after a very (very) long day of the examination of all things, and all human history, as to just what happened and just what went wrong.. By my studied calculation, this day of "judgement" will last 500 years.. -- If only those "not believing" will go to the second death, who, after experiencing being resurrected, and witnessing and living through 500 years of the examination of all things, who by then will not "believe"? -- oh, and "hell" is a grievous mistranslation from the original language, and it should read simply, "the grave"!! -- A misunderstanding of these things is what makes many christians very persistant, etc as they are taught unless someone/you/whomever does not believe before they die, they will perish, or worse! -- IF there is a God/deity, he can only be Perfect/Excellent.. else he too would fall apart/die and cease to be.. Seeing as God is Perfect, the 'end' result (of all this and human history, etc) can ONLY BE the best-possible-'end' result! Nothing else is possible. (His 'losing' anyone, is not Perfect, therefor it is not possible.) | | | | flowerchilde (8074)

| | P.S. To explain, I say the day of judgment lasts 500 years because the ancient hebrew SPRING holy days perfectly prophesied the first coming of Jesus, therefore (surely) the ancient FALL holy days of Israel perfectly prophecy his second coming and LONG second advent of 1000 years. In the fall holydays, you have trumpets, then 10 days later the day of atonement and 5 days later the celebration of tabernacles.. Now trumpets prophesies his coming (and the "first resurrection") "on the 'LAST' day" (and not before) and is followed by the 1000 year "kingdom" of Jesus where paradise and all things are "made new", then after the 1000 years is the resurrection of "ALL" nonbelievers - so if here the 10-days prophesies the 1000years, then the 5-days between the "day of atonement" and "tabernacles" refers to 500years between the "day of judgment"/examination/(surprise! "atonement") and the coming of God to the earth to "tabernacle"/live with man upon the earth in a now UNbreakable paradise, will be 500years (prophesied by the 5days between holy day 2 and 3, as 10days between holydays 1 and 2 prophesies the 1000years between the "last trump"-et and the "day of atonement/judgement" :) | | | | | | | Career Training Programs Train for a new career at home with Penn Foster Career School. www.PennFoster.edu | add comment | | | |

| | The entire 'family of man' has access to the 'Christ Consciousness' right now in this moment, no matter your race, creed, color, or sexual orientation. You are already experiencing eternal life in paradise, and if you don't see it that way it's not because you haven't let 'Jesus' into your heart, it is because of your belief system. But, to answer your specific question, would I go with the Christians to the infinitely boring heaven that they all seem to have their sights on, and that in fact is a fictional place, or would I remain here with the Pagans, the Scientists, witches and free thinkers.... hehehe, I'll stay here thanks, no contest! And speaking of questions, you never answered mine... are you familiar with Lee Harris or Storey Waters? | | | | | | | II2aTee (845)

| | I agree. As human beings, we all have an instant and constant connection with the divine power of the universe simply by virtue of being living organisms. Thats the core of the problem I have with the church. They place all these blocks between us and the divine power, claiming they are the only means by wich to reach it, when all we have to do is look inside and outside of ourselves - and lo and behold... there it is. Its all about power, control, and domination... and I hope one day Jesus really does come back and rid this planet of it. And I am sorry about not answering your question... I did a quick google search for Lee Harris and Stoney Waters... are they musical? I couldnt do too much digging as it was late and my brain was shutting off... maybe I'll go check again while I have a free moment... Thanks again, friend. Tee | | | | zigzagbuddha (1845)

| | Well spoke 2aTee! But if you're waiting for someone to take all the stupid people away you'll be waiting for a mighty long time because this is a polar universe... everything has it's opposite, which is necessary for balance. The trick is to be able to focus your attention on what you would prefer in your life, rather than on things you don't want. It's the proverbial garden analogy; you water the seeds you want to grow and you don't water the ones you don't want growing. In my garden I rarely even pull any weeds out. I lay down a thick layer of mulch, which provides nutrients for the plant and helps keep the soil moist and rich, while at the same it time doesn't allow the weeds to break through. Sorry to go on so much about gardening if you're not a gardener, but hey, this is the Garden of Eden we are all living in, and there is something of everything in it (and always will be), you choose what grows in your own corner of the garden with your thoughts, attention and focus. Ok. Fine. I'll shut up now. Here's a few links for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ECTUDkprMk YouTube - Lee Harris channelling Zachary - The Magician Inside You http://www.youtube.com/wa... | | Hi II2, Yes, Jesus Christ will come again. He said He would and He has kept every Promise He has ever made. No one knows the day or the hour of His coming, but the Bible says that He will come like a theif in the night. It will be a glorious Day for those who know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior! Heaven is a perfect place..a place where all pain, sorrow and death will be destroyed forever. We will be with our Lord for all eternity! I look forward to the Day when I see Jesus Christ face to face. I know I don't deserve Heaven, but I believe and I accept Him. I have repented of my sins and live my life for the Lord. It is not because of anything I have done, but what He has done for me. God bless:) | | | | | | | II2aTee (845)

| | Do you plan on Jesus coming back while your still here and breathing? How will all this work? What if he comes back and your gone, then what. Does this mean you will have to come back also, what if you can't make connections and you miss his return, will all be lost. Since you seem to know you don't deserve Heaven where will you go. If you should meet Jesus faced to face and he doesn't recognize you and tells you to push off, where will you turn. How will you get back to where you came from or will you just go somewhere else. These are things you need to work out. Perhaps you should apply for a round trip ticket. If all your plans go awry I will let you come stay with me, all I will be able to guarantee is that you won't have to worry about getting cold. | | | | Springlady (2044)

I'm sure Jesus will have a lot to say to me too, Cyntrow! I eagerly await the Day I see Him face to face! How glorious that Day will be! | | I really do not see what you are worrying about. Remember, Jesus did not write the Bible. If you live a good and moral life, chances are you are more likely to have a ticket to Heaven should such a place exist, than many so called Christians or practitioners of other Judae-Christian religions. Jesus surely would not condone the one-upmanship practiced by competing religious idealists. He would not even I suggest, approve of locks on Churches. That you have faith, and a good heart is far more revealing than what you call yourself. They say he is all seeing! | | | | | | | II2aTee (845)

| | I truely hope you are right, friend, and thank you for your kind words. It's so easy to get confussed and conflicted in this world. I respect the fact that religious people can cling to thier ideals as a way of being guided through the storm. I plan on coming to the same end as they, albeit by a different path. My own. Thank you so much, Tee | | | | dickushickus (370)

| | Watch it Tee, she slipped in good and moral life. This can be dangerous territory, I have a feeling that her idea of a good life and your idea of s good life would have a good chance of conflicting. If he is really all seeing, I am doomed, what about you? | | | | schilds (286)
|
| | Remember that he is forgiving as well as all seeing. I believe in Jesus, but I tend to believe it's more of a fable - based in reality and grown through the centuries. Personally I don't think the God that I believe in is any different than the God of the Christians, or the Buddists, or any other. We all believe in a higher being - why cant it be the same one with different names? And as far as churches and organized religion goes - as one point Jesus says somehing along the lines of - You will not find me in any church. I believe it is enough that I believe in Jesus - and I try to live a good life. I don't place my salvation in Jesus - I take that resposibility on myself. And I cannot reconcile a God that would sacrifice his son for the sins of all mankind with a God that would damn a person for not following a religion that was created hundreds or thousands of years after the death of Jesus. | | | | cyntrow (2702)

| | Schilds, I soooo agree. I do consider myself a christian woman. I follow jesus' teachings. But I will not believe that an athiest who does great works for human kind will go to hell and a Christian who does nothing will go to heaven just because of his beliefs. If I believed that i would hurt in my heart. | | | | | | | Local Coupons Ridiculously huge deals every day. Like doing your city at 90% off! www.Groupon.com | add comment | | | |

| | When we get to spend time in Heaven I think that God's judgement and compassion will create a place where there is no room for the kind of things you get from those people. I think also it would be important to know that there would be no need for any of that type of behavior in heaven. I think you are using others bad behavior to give you an excuse for not following Christ. I will pray for you as I pray for them and it is my fervent hope we all meet in Heaven as devoted members of God's family. | | | | | | | II2aTee (845)

| | I want to go with Jesus. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life. (John 3:16). I believe the Bible is true. I am a sinner, saved by grace. I'm grateful to have Jesus as my higher power. You asked. I've responded. I hope you find a way to believe in Jesus. If you don't, it's your choice. Did you ever read the book More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell? He was a non-believer who tried refuting the Bible and its teachings, and got turned around. I fight with him in my heart. I honestly dont know how homoesxuality could be wrong. I was born with this quality inside me... like I was born with red hair and brown eyes. Whether it was God, Jesus, or whatever... its a part of who I am, and it took a long time for me to accept it. But when I finally did, I finally knew peace.
