| potterfire (96) | 2 years ago |  If the prices are too high for you, you can buy some of the Harry Potter books in second hand. It doesn't really matter if you have a new one, the story's all the same anyway. besides, some second hand books are as good as new...

I've listened to full versions of all the books on audiobooks (I made sure they were full versions rather then condensed.)
I don't think it's a score but just some great entertainment.
There are only a couple of stories that I've both read and watched, Harry Potter of course, the Lord of the Rings, and some of Michael Chricton's books made into movies like Timeling and Jurassic Park. I enjoy both immensely as different mediums so have no problem with watching the movie after the book.

4.  aseretdd (6864) | 2 years ago |  I have read all 7 books countless times and watched all 5 movies... i have the dvd's for the first 4 and still waiting for my friend to send me the fifth... right now i am waiting for the 6th movie... and desperately hoping that J.K. Rowling would write an 8th book... even if the story will no longer revolve on Harry Potter... i am also waiting for the promised Harry Potter Encyclopedia... which would come out after 10 years or so...

| 5. potterfire (96) | 2 years ago | I've read all 7 books, watched the 5 movies, and right now I'm listening to the audiobook of the Deathly Hallows...Its quite a change from reading because then storytellers give a lot of feeling and make the Harry Potter experience nice and very much fascinating. | |

I surely hope the last two movies are better than the books because the last two books almost seemed like JK Rowling wrote them just to get the septology (my made-up word for 7-book series) done. The ending of the whole saga just made me roll my eyes.

| zeloguy (2230) | 2 years ago | What she said is that she had a problem with Harry growing up and dating and all that and the books were originally intended for a much younger audience and it was hard for her to write because of that.
I think that she just became incredibly wealthy from the first five books... knew that she didn't have to write anymore... she's not a writer... I don't doubt if we never see another book from her.
I think she had an obligation to her publisher and that is why the last two were done. There was no heart or soul in it at all. | |
