As an adult, do you still keep toys as a memory of your childhood?

A few weeks ago I was looking through some stuff that was packed away and found some old toys from my childhood. Well after a quick dust down i decided to put a few on display and they look good. I now have dolls around the house again. Anyone else still keep toys from childhood?

I think the only thing I really have left from my childhood is the stuffed teddy that my foster mother had bought me for my first Xmas not realizing I wasnt going to be with her any more...

Truth be told though, there really isnt anything else from my childhood that I'd want..I mean I dont need the reminders ya know...but that damn bear, I've had it in my possesion now for probably close to 20 yrs and even with all the moving, traveling etc I've done I've NEVER lost it LOL Next thing I want to get my hands on is the outfit my foster mother sent me in to my new home and the letter she sent with me....

Yes, you know not only toys but also the notebooks, books, stationeries, journals, even wrappers of candy or receipts, concert tickets, vcd dvd many stuffs. You know i can build a museum with my stuff from the past that is how i made importance with it. For me all that i have in the past are part of my future and without them there is no me now. Also those stuff brings out the memories and by looking by them you begin smiling.

No unfortunately I haven't a thing, but I have my happy memories and my best toy was a teddy called BooBoo who I loved lots, don't know whatever happened to him but I did write this poem when I was eight years old, still have all those that I'd like to share with you now.
TEDDY BEAR
soft and cuddly, comforting,
someone to turn to when the weather is rain,
a shoulder to cry on, to shout at, to love,
seeming sometimes greater than people you love.
Always there, never strays, you go way but he stays,
you love him so deeply, hate him at times,
but that poor little teddy bear he never minds

I don't think I have any toys from my childhood. But I do have books....all my books I ever got. The reason for this could be that I was always a book person more than a toy person. I preferred books and even as a very young child would spend time with my books (even before I could really read) than play with toys. When I wasn't reading, I preferred to entertain my parents and their friends with my made up stories (I would enact them out) or sing songs.

I don't have any toys left from my childhood but a couple of years ago, I was telling my husband I used to have a viewmaster and it had Charlie Brown slides to look at through it. I bought me one for Christmas this last year and it brought back alot of good memories.

WHen I came here I couldn't bring all that much. So many of the things that I still held on stayed behind. There are about 2 or 3 things that I brought with me and ketp, and I know that my mom still has many things back home, but I don't think I will ever bring them here.

Nah...
We usually pass the toys "down" or give them away.
Otherwise, we dump them to make space - usually parents will "forcefully" dump them for the kids.:P

I have a few toys from my childhood. I'm 35 now, so they aren't really THAT old (or so I keep telling myself lol).
I had most of my "barbie" things packed away, but made the mistake of taking them out and letting some kids play with them (my sons included). Now most of the items are destroyed. I don't think it's that the kids were overly rough with the things, just that the plastics became brittle over the years.
I also have 2 "fisher price" toys from when I was an infant. One, a wooden musical box, that when wound, plays the song "all around the mulberry bush, the monkey chased the weasel.."... only the words on the back are "all around the cobbler's bench, the monkey chased the weasel..". It still works well. The other toy is a plastic record player that plays plastic records. I have all 5 of the coloured records too. Just wind up the player, put on the record, and the bumps on the disks hit metal things in the "stylus", and tada! music! The best part about those toys, NO BATTERIES REQUIRED! (they really ought to make them like that again.. talk about environmentally friendly!).

I just found a Poppel and a glow worm in my attic over the weekend. I didn't even remember taking them when I left home at 17 and here they are in my attic 12 years later.
It brought back memories but I have left them in the attic.
