Well, I tend to respond to discussions more than start my own. But i would guess that you could start by reviewing blogs or news articles until something strikes your fancy.

I don't try to start discussions all the time. I might start 2 to 3 new discussions a day, sometimes none. The only time I will start a discussions is if I have thought of something that I would like to talk to others about. There have been times I have gone more than a week without starting a new discussion. It doesn't bother me at all if I don't have something to start a discussion about. I just then focus on responding to other peoples discussions.

Hello dear ersmommy. It has been always ok for me not to post new discussions as I am not the type of person to post a lot of new discussions every so often. But I am very happy that I have all of you, my dear and active friends to offer me new discussions one after another, which makes me very happy. There is no worry for me at all about posting new discussions of my own. lol

I have discovered that this happens to me fairly often. I do not always post new discussions every day. When I can't think of any new posts to start I just respond to other peoples discussions. I sometimes get ideas from them.

I was here for a month and that was happen to me a lot of time. Running out of discussion is not the issue for me but running out of interest in the topic. I don't easily log out but i instead, i upload photos and take time to it. After wards read other post, feed what i've learn and apply to myself if i needed. Over here, there are so many post that are already answered by other user so i don't add mine if it was exactly the same with other user, what i do is read and read and consume time until i found under the same post and answer the post of user who reply to the main discussion.I know i won't earn from reading but i find it a good way to see a quality post so i can reply with quality too.

I don't start a lot of discussions, but I really like to respond to discussions. But, sometimes I run out of discussions to respond to, so I go back to old discussions and see if I can answer those. Some of those discussions are really old and are kinda funny. Did you know that there have been about 1.5 million discussions started on this site so far? That's a lot of discussions to sift through!

I just go and answer my friends discussions. I hardly ever start a new discussion lately. I am so far behind on my friends so I am just working on those right now.

I don't start many discussions. Every now and then I see a news article that really strikes me and I'll start on discussion on that. More often, I see a good news article, then forget what I wanted to discuss - I really do need to start writing these things down. I also have these odd little discussions where a myLot topic comes to me in the middle of the day from some random thought process and I'll start a discussion on that. As far as responding, I do my emails notifications first and then go cruising around the site. I do like the newbie discussions and those with no responses, but I'll tell you, sometimes I can't think of a thing to say to some discussions.

Well, I just don't log to mylot for a few days. I simply start reading newspaper or magazines to get some ideas. Then if I have some, I'll come back to mylot and start posting again.

I don't worry about it. I figure that sooner or later something will pop into my head and I'll think, "Hey! That might be a good myLot topic." And I go from there.

I usually wait until I think of another one. In my own humble opinion, there's no sense in forcing yourself to put out a topic that you don't really care much about just because you want to post a discussion. But I'm a newbie. So I'm sure sometime soon I'll get to that point where I'll try to find a remedy for the idea drought.
