Now I need a Name...lol  

Actually he isn't my dog =P hehe. Sorry I know I was misleading in this discussion. This dog is actually going to be in another story I'm considering writing. I'm writing the beginning of each story-then I'm going to pick which one to keep writing =P hehe. And I just need a name for a dog in my story =D But the dog has a big role in the story, he isn't just a family pet. He's an actual character (this is a pretty different story-I think lol).

Thank you very much for the link! The names you listed are defeniatly good names; Legion is defeniatly a strong name. But I'm not sure they are the name I'm looking for. I looked at all the names on the link you provided, and although I saw some good ones, I don't think I read the right one. None of them jumped out at me and felt right...you know what I'm saying or am I just being a control freak spaz? =P lol.

I don't necessarily need a name that was made for a dog. I want any name, whether it sounds like a person or animals name.

I can see what you are saying, Lily, it happens that sometimes something just doesn't 'strike'. And, it happens in more way and in more things than I may like to believe at first and it happens with me too, so no worries!:-)

Yes, I pronounce it that way, Lily, or perhaps 'shru der'. And, I don't know if it means anything. It's German, phonetically, and last German chancelor was Gerhard schroeder, so I just changed the letters to have same sound yet not disrespect him in anyway!

But I just thought of something that goes along with this. You know The Chronicles of Narnia? The lion? Aslan! lol. That right there is a powerful name =P A name that everyone remembers. That's what I'm lookig for, for my dog lol. I want my dog to be the next Aslan =P

I went and looked up names, I found a couple I might like. They are both Arabic names. The first one is Kadar, it means "powerful." The second one is Mamdouh, which means the namesake is "glorified, praised." A couple of ordinary names I've always been a fan of are James and Daniel.

But I'm gonna keep looking, I might find a real gem! =P You like any of the ones I mentioned above? Any faves?

Sher : Lion

Bubber (B' ber): Male lion

Sultan (Sul taan): King

Shehzor (sh eh zor): Powerful, mighty

lol i think i do like the name because of the character! Aslan's awesome =P Who doesn't love him! lol.

I think me and you are just going to be going back and forth with names and translations! lol. Of course Sultan is a cool name, but I can't picture this dog being named Sultan. Maybe if he was a great dane =P lol.

I think I would like 'conall' more among the selection here, It is firm, short and sounds like 'colonel' in phonetics. Others are good too, except, perhaps, for the last one, not in its meaning but I don't find its sound impressive, but that's just me!

I noticed you picked names that mean wolf, but the dog in the pic doesn't look like a wolf.
I have an Alaskan Malamute, now that's a dog that looks (and acts) like a wolf.
I think the name should fit the dog's look, just an opinion.
I write too. My current novel is about a wolf, I used Native American language meaning Black Male Wolf, and my wolf is black and male.

Well I know he doesn't really look like a wolf :) But dogs and wolves are related, so I figured if I used a name that meant wolf it would be okay. They are basically in the same family.

I really like the name Majesty too. But I'm not sure I want to use a name that really sounds like a dog. And I think it just tells you (as in the reader of the story) too forwardly that the dog is great and strong. I don't want a name that tells you he is strong (and all the rest =P), I want a name that just sounds like he is. Does this make sense? lol

But I really love how you made a name out of all his attributes!! I'm gonna pick like 5 or 6 words I would really want to use to describe him, and do what you just did!

Arthur defeniatly is a strong name! Makes me think of King Arthur :) Defeniatly a respectable guy! =P I think this is a name to keep in mind! :) (I'm making a list of names then gonna see which name(s) people like best =P)

The dog in my story isn't actually going to be treated like a dog =P hehe. Not like that =P No one is going to tell him to sit or jump! lol.

Thank you :) He isn't actually my dog though hehe. That's a great pyrenees dog (but I defeniatly get where you see Samoyed in it). But the dog I am looking for a name for is fictional =P

I defeniatly like the name Samuel, makes me think of the strong silent type. And you know what...at first I was going to say that I'm not sure it is right for him but now...now that I think of it, it might actually be a good one. One defeniatly to keep in mind!!!

I looked at the other choices and I like Majesty the best so far. That is the best looking Great Pyranees I've ever seen. Really strong looking. When I see them, they're shaggy, in need of a bath and I think they're one of the drooling breeds. I could be wrong, not sure why a lot of big, really big dogs drool. Yeah that is a really good looking pyrenees! lol. I wouldn't mind having him =P I'm not sure if they drool a lot, but yeah I work with dogs and the really big ones do tend to drool! lol. But there was a great pyrenees Mix and he didn't drool! =P Awesome, sweet dog though!
