what will you do when you receive chain message/letters? |
|
Did you receive chain letters or messages in your email or cellphone, telling you to sent it to a certain number of people so that nothing bad happens to you or your family?Did you find it annoying also and for a few minutes you'll fear that if you didn't comply something bad happens just like the message said? What did you do about it? Well, the first time I received it, I am so scared esp. if it is about my family. I always received it on my cellphone, and more often than not, I have no load in my cellphone whenever I got one. Maybe you'll find me very silly but I was too scared that time, I really think that I'll be cursed if I didn't send it. But over the years,I gradually find it not that threatening than the first time, although I'm still slightly scared till now. So sometimes I send it, other times I didn't. And to be safe, I always prayed and wished nothing too bad will happen to us. How about you? what are your experiences with this?Do you also believe it?Or you just read and ignore it?

From seeing videos about how people to charms or voodoo i do no think they need letters or email or to do anything to you. If you get paranoid of this chain letters, it just means that you are overreacting. Just stay cool and calm ignore them.

There is nothing bad happened to me for failing to do what the sender asked me to do. Personally, I don't believe in these chain letters.

But now, when I hear your opinions, I realized that there's nothing to scared about:D hehe,Thank you for your response, I really happy to know your experience with this:D

3. bjcyrix (1020) | 3 months ago | Hi. Well, I was a bit like you at first but I already doubted if they were true or not. I dont recieve them in text messages only the chain letters that are a bit like surveys like 'what word describes the sender', 'you think the sender is' things like that and I only forward and answer them when I have load. If I dont have load well sorry for them, maybe next time. With the chain letters with curses or blessings I usually get them in my yahoo messenger. Before I used to read them and decide if the story is worht the time to forward. It doesnt cost a thing anyway, just time and effort and if I have time to spare then why not. Otherwise I will jsut delete it. Nowadays, I dont have time to chat and instant message anymore and I dont have time to do extra things, I dont even read them anymore. If I so much suspect that it is a chain mail then I delete it at once. This sentiment goes out on Spam mails too. Before I would take the time to read them and see if they are worth checking out then I will visit the site. Then I became lax that I just take the time to look for 'unsubscribe' link and unsubscribe to a newsletter taht I didnt sign up for in the first place. Then these days they are so much not worth the effort that I dont open the spam folder anymore. I just click 'empty' on the side. Thats just me, well, goodluck with those chain mails, have a nice day.^_^

I didn't know that there are also survey type of a chain letter. well, perhaps because I check on my emails all the possible spam messages. And I always emptied my spam letters without reading it.:D And try to be nonchalant like you about this. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me, I really appreciate it. 4. andreleroux (108) | 3 months ago | Chain letters are boring and the person who inventd he idea should be shot. These days if I only start reading it I wipe it immidiately. If it's from an unknown person I block their adress. This also comes to those letters you receive from Nigerians who cliam you could be x million dollars richer if you provide certian information! It sucks and the people are just toying with your insecurities

| 6. Rueca08 (95) | 3 months ago | Like you, I am scared about receiving chain mails/letters especially if its about my family. At first, I only recieve them in my emails, I was scared when i first receive one so I send it to some of my friends. Then if another one come, i send it again. Then when I was so scared of one specific chain mail (i didn't really received it in my mail or cellphone, a friend told me the story) a classmate of mine told me not to believe it and just to believe in God...and that's when I stop sending chain mails...and start to ignore it..and in the end, i'm not scared anymore

7. asereht1970 (248) | 3 months ago | Before i was a bit afraid receiving chain letters because they always say that if you didn't pass it to a certain number of people, bad things will happen to you and your family. I was too young then to understand that the my fate does not depend on a silly chain letter. Now that i now better, i just ignore it and delete it immediately.

8. kalav56 (700) | 3 months ago | Today, with email this is going on. Right from my childhood I have heard parents talk about such post cards and that these should be ignored. I have also received such emails and I find it extremely irritating.I delete them immediately.

9. meiteoh (327) | 3 months ago | It depends on the content - if they are inspirational, I read them and then I delete them. If they are just hoaxes or spam, I trash them even without reading. A lot of chain messages/letters are based on urban legends and hoaxes. If you google some of them, you can actually find heaps, things like MSN closing and so forth. There are people, however, who will prey on the kind nature of others out there and send out help messages regarding kidnapped children and what-not.=.=

kylie_quistis (331) | 3 months ago | hello, yes, you're right, I also received some letters about urban legends and kidnapped children or even murdered people who are vengeful, It's really annoying actually to received those right now. Thanks for responding to my discussion.:D
