Yes I only woke up once last night but I took a pain pill and went right back to sleep. I also took some sominex over the counter sleeping pill. It made me sleep alot longer. Its so good to get a good nite sleep. I hope soon I wont be waking up at all. Thanks for your suggestions. Do you take something to sleep?

Becareful Terry, sominex may not coinside with your other medications. It'll be wise to consult with your doctor first before doing it again. I'd hate to see you in worse shape later on down the road.

Whew! Glad you didn't take me the wrong way. I certainly am not trying to treat you like a child. My hubby does that to me quite often and it aggravates the day lights outta me! LOL

Well I don't know if this would work in your situation, but reading makes me very sleepy. It has been a year since my surgery, but I think I did some reading because usually whenever you go to the hospital, they give you many things to read..

I only mentioned it because the last few days I have had this cold and been taking nyquil at night..Then when I try to read, I am struggling trying to finish a chapter.. Usually I read about 3-5 chapters before getting tired...

I know Sweetie and I am glad that you did but I am not able to take sleeping Tablets now anyway because they found out 2 Years ago that I now and again stop breathing in my sleep and that is what wakes me so they can not risk me being in a strong sleep I am just glad that you have got some sleep and I really hope the Pain goes away soon Sweet

Well I'm happy that you were able to finally rest. It's hard to work on getting all better when we can't sleep properly. I am very lucky that usually it doesn't matter if I wake up during the night, because I go straight back to sleep, but then again if I was in pain then it would be another story, of course:) SO anyways, enjoy your good night's sleep. Big hug

Hi Terry, I'm so happy that you're finally getting some sleep, and I trust this trend will continue. Did your doctor put you on different pain medication? You've received some really good sleep tips, so hope some of them have been helpful. As for myself, I've never taken any type of sleep aid, as I only suffer from insomnia very occasionally. Take care.

It's good to hear that your doctor was understanding, and hopefully the additional meds will help. Hugs to you too.

In the height of my depression I was finding that I was lying awake at nights with everything on my mind, worries, fretting and living with my ex didn't help, I was living on my nerves and sleep evaded me so I went to a herbal clinic who suggested I take valerian which helps and aids sleeps, it did help and I felt better knowing it was a herbal remedy as I hate taking tablets and it's the last resort, now I have a bottle of kalms by my bedside and if I can't sleep I will take a couple which help but now I am out of that particular relationship and a certain person is out of my life sleep comes much easier for me now thankfully, sweet dreams, sweet friend of mine xxx

Terry its wonderful you got some sleep. Benadryl normally does it for me. I think the somminex you refer to is basically the same thing just an antihistamine that makes you sleepy. I have very restless nights sometimes. It does not hurt to take something when we need it.

I don't very often as over the counter remedies don't work and I can only have a few sleeping tablets or sedatives every now and then as I don't want to risk becoming addicted or dependant on them! I am so glad that you had such a better sleep and hope that tonight is at least as good if not better! xxx

I'm glad to hear you finally got some sleep Terry..just wondering though...did the doc say it was all right to mix the pain killers with the sleeping stuff? Or do you space the doses far apart...just wondering cause I hope you don't have a bad reaction from the two combined

He was the one who told me to take it. I didnt have to space them apart either. But if it was not a over the counter sleeping pill then I would.

No, but I have 5 kids, and if I took something to help me sleep, I would not be able to deal with all the sleepwalkers! LOL I can just see it now, my kids all walking in their sleep through the neighborhood while I'm snoring away! Glad you got some better sleep last night!

I have never taken sleeping pills before I was offered some valium to take when my dad passes away but I had never taken it before and dindt' want to sleep for days. I usually take a nice hot bath to get relaxed enough to sleep. I don't know what I would do if I had surgery though that might make me try a sleeping pill to get some sleep. Glad to hear you got a good nites sleep.
