This morning I was minding my own business getting ready for work and suddenly I heard this noise.....like something hitting the ceiling....at first I thought it was a beetle....or one of the aphids....but I looked up at the light and there beating it little body up against the light fixture was a WASP!!! How the little bugger got in is beyond me....so I quickly ran into my bedroom and closed the door so I could saftely get ready for work. Well once ready I was going to open the door and quickly hike down the stairs so he wouldn't notice me as I didn't have a broom or anything handy to smash him with....well instead this time I heard his banging his body into my bedroom door! LOL...so I had to wait for a few minutes until the noise stopped and I quickly escaped downstairs where I armed myself with a broom.....I didn't find him when I came back up so somewhere he is lurking around ready to chase me or even worse! Have you ever been trapped by a monster..no matter how small he be? LOL

ewwww! there is nothing worse than a hornet or wasp in your house! i remember that there was one trapped in our bathroom (we only have one) and the girls were terrified of it! (it happened when they were younger) and usually my older daughter (who is fearless around bugs) didnt even want to kill it! (i waited til my hubby got home!) lol!

First I would have wet my pants and then ran...lol I am afraid of wasps so they always win. I have had this happen but it's been several years and I finally got the little devil and smashed him. Would have preferred to put this annoying creature outside but had no way to get it out there without running the risk of being stung. Did you ever get the pest?

You are going to laugh at me, but when i was pregnant with my first baby, i came home from work one day and there was a HUGE BEE in the house, i ran into the bathroom and stayed in there for and hour and forty five minutes untill hubby got home from work to smash it for me. lol. I am not usually that bad with bugs, but i was a big wimp when i was pregnant the first time.

You sound like my brother when it comes to wasp. He is so scared of them.
A few years ago I had a clothes line and would hang clothes out to dry on pretty days and one morning my husband was sitting on the side of the bed putting his socks and shoes on and he jerked them off really fast, there was a bee in his sock. I have never seen anyone get a boot and sock off that fast.
I have been trapped by my nightmare of a monster before, my monster's are lizards, I can't stand them, they scare me so bad.

Oh such a cute story about your hubby! I still haven't found the little varment...when I was in Hawaii visiting my daughter when she lived there..they have gecko's and they keep them in the house to eat the very large cockroaches they have.....well I had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and when I turned on the light the gecko started screaming....since you can't see them I turned off the light and waited for the sun to come up before I went to the bathroom, as I didn't want to step on it! I just about drowned! I am sure my eyeballs were yellow by the time I got to go to the bathroom! LOL

Several years ago Jill I was in Nepal. The place that I was staying in had private rooms with a verandah that ran the length of the building at the end of which was the bathroom. In the middle of the night I decided that I needed the toilet in a bit of a hurry. I scurried down the verandah, into the bathroom, turned on the light and sat down on the toilet. Suddenly I heard a buzzing noise and looking up I saw the largest hornet that I have ever seen in my life buzzing around the light. I shan't go into the effect that hornets have on the bowels, but let's just say the impact is significant. I was in a "do I stay, or do I go" situation. I stayed, but the whole time I watched that blooming insect. Trapped with your pants around your ankles, your body straining and mind working overtime is not a position that I'd like to be in again in a hurry!

I can't say as I have ever been trapped by one, but I have been ran out by one. When I was a teen, we lived in an old house,and old houses have holes in them. One morning when my feet hit the ground, they also hit something that felt slimy and smooth, well maybe not exactly smooth as there were scales down its body length. First thing in the morning is not the best time to realize you just stepped barefoot onto a snake. That wast the day I learned how to fly. I think that I not only made it to the door, but opened it and passed it without my feet touching the floor. looking back it was funny, but at the time it was anything but funny.

that little wasp might have been weirded out by your behavior! worse, it must be laughing at you for being scared of it! ^__^;;
i can't remember any incident similar to that of yours but i can remember instances that i am prevented to walk ahead because of an earthworm or a cockroach.
i just find them so disgusting! if i see one, i would stop and plan how i would walk ahead without being near to it. ^__^;; i would usually jump over it very quickly.

Thanks for such a laugh. Your description of your "monster" banging against your bedroom door, makes it sound like it was making such a loud noise..lol
But I have to say, I was once trapped, not by a monster, but by a bat. I am petrified of bats...especially ones that are in my house and flying above my head...ugh. This happened to me once when I was in 3rd grade and I have been freaked out by them ever since. Just a few years ago, one was able to get into the house we were living in at the time and I woke up to this unbearable, eerie high pitched noise that bats make. I was freaked out, I had to kick my husband to make him wake up, I was totally under the covers trying to stay away from the bat, it was flying over our bed....aaaaahhhh. So once my husband woke up and figured out what was going on, he jumped up and ran out of the room...AND HE SHUT THE DOOR, WITH ME IN THERE!!!! I was really freaking out then, so I ended up, litarally rolling myself off of the bed (making sure not to lift up at all, staying as far away from the bat as possible). I then did an army crawl to the door. Once in the hall way I felt safe, but then I looked up and across the hall and the bat was flying over my daughter's bed, while she slept. Once we got all the kids downstairs, I had to call a friend and her husband came over and killed the bat for me, I couldn't sleep, everyone else in my house was sleeping and I couldn't sleep knowing that bat was still in my house upstairs..lol

I find this very amusing. I have been trapped by a monster mostly in my dreams but in reality I have never came across a monster.

i have already killed 3 wasps upstairs in my loft area which is where my home office is since early spring. i make sure i kill them because i do not want them lurking around. my son has never been stung by one and i do not want to find out the hard way that he could be allergic as he has many allergies to other things already.
