how do you come up with your pet's names?

Since I foster pets and have to come up with several names, I have quite a few techniques for this. I either flip through a baby book and land my finger on a name (if I hate it, I'll try again). Or sometimes I'll go online and look for names that go together if I have a group to name. And other times I name them after TV shows too.

I pick either something that is dear to me, or an unusual but pretty name. I love my pets like family.. so i put alot of thought into choosing a name. There are so many out there, and sometimes its hard to think of a good one. you just have to work at it.

My dog's called Diefer. I was stuck for ideas, and a friend had a cat called Ceefer.

I just thought Miss Kitty was a good name for a cat. My grand ma used to watch "Gunsmoke" there was a Miss Kitty on there, but that is not why i pick that name. Her kittens that i kept are Bubba= brother and Missy Sissy or just Sister= sister.

The name of my pet dog is Poonchu,which means a cute traditional baby frock. I like this name,as because he was very cute,when I saw him for the first time.

Hello, My first dog Rachel already had her name when I got her from a shelter . She was named after Rachel from the show friends . She had 2 other sisters named Monica and Phoebe My Pugs name is Rosiao and we call her Rosie for short . She looks like the maid from will and grace and the robot from the jetssons. Some of my cats already came with names when I got them . But I named one of my favs Princeton. It started out as Prince , Because he was my little Price , and he would cry out and sound like the singer Prince. I added Princeton later on , because I thought it sounded cool.

the same way i named my stuffed animals and dolls when i was a kid...i just stare at their faces like i am meditating...and see what the first name that comes to my mind or based on their personality...

Our current cats are Josie, named for her coat of many colors -- the feminine of Joseph -- she's a calico. Our other calico is Paisley. Arthur came with the name R-2; Arthur was close to that. Peaches came with that name; she is from Georgia, so it fit. She has so many issues that we kept the name. She knows it and comes to it, so it would have been a shame to change it.

I like to give my pets names same as human names!! Ive also given my pets daft names like : Pudding Pipsqueak Honey Mazy
