Electric bills  

My electric bill usually runs abbout $80 it does run a little closer to $100 in the summer when we are running the central air.
I make sure that lights are shut off and tv's are shut off when no one is in the room it really helps alot.

Bills are just zapping the energy of the average householder. I have had bills up to my neck and I do not know how it happened. My wife takes care of paying the bills and they are just piling up. I have just paid the equivalent of $800 for electric bills alone. Something has got to be done about it.

Mine usually runs about $60 - $100.
I try to keep things that are being used turned off.
But husband will put the TV on mute, (can't hear it) with his back to it because he is his computer (can't see it) and it drives me crazy.
He can just turn it off, until he has finished whatever he is doing on the computer. By him being home all day, the TV is just going, no one watching it.

It is normal,maybe this is the bad side of electric bill!Contral yourself!

But we try to save electric
I always unplug my computer and TV and stuff at nite when I'm Sleeping.
and we bought those type of light bulbs (lol... I forgot what there called)
But Yeah they help some..

Last summer my average bill was around $200.00 but I live in Arizona where it the temperature can reach over 115 degrees easy. This summer I'm using an evaporative cooler along with the A/C. The cooler has made a big difference already, as my electric bill in May of 2007 was $140.00 but this year it was only $66.00. I don't know where you live but if it's a dry climate try getting an evaporative cooler. They use less power but they don't work as well in humid climate. Good luck.

Our entire home is Electric,no gas. We bought a "Pellet Stove" to heat the home. We get our Electric bill every 2 months. The coldest part of winter our Elect Bill is around $200.00 (thats every 2 months)and we buy about $50.00 of Pellets every month. Our winters go to about 35 degrees on average, sometimes colder and sometimes a tad warmer. So I try to budget $300.00 every 2 months for the electric bill. We live in the Northwest.

My electric company is a co-op, so my rates are cheaper than the average. My bill has run from $80 to $200. It's more likely to go up in the summer when it's so hot. In the winter (when we have one), I rarely turn the heat on. In the summer, I have to have air conditioning!

I got a new heat pump last year and I have noticed a difference in the cost...it's cheaper. My old heat pump was just worn out and not very efficient anymore. I don't leave lights on, don't leave water running, and turn everything off when I'm not using it. But really, most electric companies can charge whatever they want. What you do doesn't really help most of the time.

Our bills were around $75, though with summer I'm sure they will go up! I recently switched to those flourescent bubls so I will be interested in seeing if that has saved us any money or not. I pretty much sit in the dark all day and keep as little lights on as possible.

Our electric bill is seldom below 250.00 and often over 300.00 i am sorry to say. It has been years since our lights were cut off thankfully!
