This is for a moulded piece of plastic that lifts on to a dustcart for rubbish removal at present we have to put bags out by 7am on a Thursday but sometimes they won't arrive until 2pm which means that the seagulls have attacked them and strewn rubbish all over the road by the time they get here. I thought I would buy a bin to see if this would lessen the litter factor and of me having to go out into the street and clear but at that price I will litter pick I think. What item have you ever gone to buy only to discover that they were ridiciously expensive for what they were? Ellie :D

Actually I just got back from going to the store to buy pajamma's for my little granddaughter! She is only four but stays here alot and sometimes at the spur of the moment so it's nice to have a pair here....well I couldn't believe how much they wanted for them.....as high as $27.00!!!! I found some on sale but I would have never bought them at the origional price! There's hardly any material in them!!!!

Hi Jill $27.00 dollars is ridiculous to pay for a four year olds PJs. I only ever pay about £5 for my sons. Oh I hope she likes the ones you got for her on sale, special ones for when she is at nanys eh! How sweet of you. Ellie :D

They are so cute....they have little pink and white stripped leggings and the top has....little princess on it! When she gets to my house she usually wants to put on her pj's right away....I think it's to insure she really gets to stay! LOL

I find that everything is ridiculously expensive. I really cannot afford to live anymore, it is really that bad. I don't really know what a wheelie bin is but I believe you when you say it is too expensive.

Hi Winterose, A wheelie bin is a trash can on wheels that the garbage men wheel to their truck but it is just a moulded plastic bin with a lid really which I think to pay that amount for is just crazy. I am sorry to hear that it is such a struggle for you at the moment, prices are going up but nothing else is eh! Ellie :D

That's quite a price for a bin! Can't you make one yourself? I mean, it need not be that perfect but can you not make it out of some drum with a lid... I usually do not buy my household stuffs, my mother does. And recently when I had gone to buy some door mats I was surprised at the price. I agree that they were of high , qualities and brands are expensive but I had no idea !!

Hi mimpi, no I will just continue to bag up and put out until I can mange to get one from somewhere. Every thing is so expensive these days but a plastic bins on wheels £52.99 excessive I feel. Ellie :D

In the states, they are very affordable. But I guess prices are different all over. For us, rent and mortgage rates are really high. Maybe they are lower in your area. For us, trash day is Monday morning and Thursday morning and they come by on Wednesday morning to pick up heavy stuff like furniture and mattresses.

Hi Beautyqueen, that is so great that they do that and that the costs are reasonable too. Rent and mortgages are high here too in the UK, everything seems to be going up in price though doesn't it. Ellie :D

When I lived in South Devon the bins were provided for us but here in East Devon we have to buy if we want a bin or else just put bags out on bin day. I thought it would be neater having one but not at the price the highest I would be willing to pay would be £30 and I still think that is a bit steep. Ellie :D

I agree with you-if we are meant to be going green why should we have to pay out so much plus for a bin for your rubbish that is ridiculous-bb littleowl

That's a bit rich, ellie! Where I live, our Council provides us with a wheelie bin, as part of our rates. We actually have two - one for food scraps, and another one for recycling (cardboard, tins, bottles). I think razor blades are really expensive. When my husband's razor runs out of blades, it's cheaper to buy another razor (with blades) than to buy a pack of replacement blades. Printers are the same - it's cheaper to buy a new printer (with two ink cartridges) than to buy a new cartridge!

I used to live in an area that provided all this too which is why I was so shocked at the price to buy. I will be picking up after the seagulls instead at that price eh! I agree the replacement blades are a ridiculous price. Try savers or a local market if you can as they can work out a cople of pounds cheaper there. Ellie :D

We have been car shopping for my daughter a used car. We all know that used cars are as is with no warranty. We looked at several of them and they were priced really high for the year and the number of miles on them. We looked at several and did not purchase any because they wanted too much for them with the condition they were in. We finally found a good deal on one the other day though and we got it for her. It pays to shop around for bargains.

This actually happened to me last year. I had come into a little extra money to burn and decided to treat myself to a GOOD pair of running shoes, or what USED to be called plain old sneakers. So I thought of going to Footlocker where they sell all the name brands, like Nike, Adidas and so forth. so I'm looking around and my jaw dropped as I had no idea that such name brands were SO expensive...like way over a $100 for one pair...for "sneakers" are they NUTS? So walked out and went to the Payless shoe store instead..for the same amount of money I would have spent for only ONE pair of sneakers I got two pairs of sneakers and two pairs of sandals. It amuses me in a way that I look at what sneakers people are wearing and almost all have Nikes...gee, you mean so many people have over a hundred dollars to burn on one pair of shoes?

Garbage is really a big problem and in my case it was so ridiculous because I bought an empty drum which was cut in half and I placed it outside my gate so the garbage man can just pick up the garbage with no problem. I placed a heavy lid on it so the dogs and cats don't go spreading litter around. The thing that happened was that the entire thing was stolen a couple of days after I deployed it.

That is another reason I didn't want to spend this amount of money on it as even though I live in a fairly crime free area at this price the bins are getting stolen. I would have had to chain it somehow and remembere to unpadlock every Thursday and redo up when the bin men had gone. Crazy eh! Your idea was great though a shame it was stolen. Ellie :D

That is outrageous for a trash can. Here they cost about $10 for a cheap one. I am always coming home empty handed because I refuse to pay over a certain amount for an item. Too many things have gotten too high in prices it's ridiculous. I don't like paying more than $10 for a pair of shoes, but often they cost $30 or more. Nuts!!

$10 really that is reasonable but over $100 ridiculous. The prices of things are rising I know but this price no way. I will pay £30 or more for my work shoes as they need to be really comfortable as well as safe to wear but other shoes £10 tops. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D

Ellie The only example I can think of is what happened this last week. I found A product I want to sell here in Mexico, small books. After investigating I found the only place they are made is in Brasil. I agreed to buy $1500.00 USA from a manufaturer in Brasil. They informed that shipping was $120.00 I was ready to and went to the bank to do the deposit. The bank was unable to do the transfer bcause the manuf. didnt give me the correct account number and state. I thought If they cant do this correctly will I ever recieve my books. I found another manufacturer they agreed on a better price for the books. I was happy to save money. When they sent me the invoiice the shipping alone was $900.00 dollars. I decided I dont need to sell these books that bad. For nine hundred dollars I can go to Brasil and vacation and bring the books back myself. In the long run I have less work to do and wait till they figure out their business and learn that they are not going to retire off of me alone. Youd think I was trying to buy a rocket. In regards to the wheel bin...Is it made from plastic? Plastic made from oil, might be why its so pricey. Back to conventional less luxury ways. Take care. David

Hi Yes a holiday in Brazil to bring the books back does sound like a cheper option I agree. I don't mind convential it was just the fact that I wanted to stop the mess. They are moulded plastic so the price of oil could be a factor in the price indeed. Ellie :D

Hello ellie, I haven't done that yet, but wouldn't the council supply you with new wheelie bin? they should, the price of council tax we pay. Hi Tamarafireheart, no here the council don't provide you have to supply your own if you want them. Where I lived before though I had two, one for normal refuse and another for recycling items and these were provided for me. I suppose every council is different eh. I will do without for now at that price. I may phone the council though to see if I can get cheaper through them. Ellie :D
