I guess it is very possible as long as one knows how to do it and will start doing it...As what they have said, we can set aside even $10 per pay day and thinking how it will sum up after 10-15 years! Thanks for the link!

yes but think about 10 a day or a week or two weeks or a month, ten dollars a month is 120 a year, set aside for anything you want, I had a friend that put away 25 cents minimun a day from her lose change, and by the end of the year she had over 300 to buy herself as she put it a christmas present.

Holy moly thanks ever for that link! I'm an avid Oprah fan and watch the rebroadcast of the show (around one in the morning...LOL)... I just downloaded that book. I've seen Orman quite a lot on her show and always have loved her advice about finances. Now...it Oprah would have some more free downloads of books...LOL. Wish she had the one from that Weiss guy who talk about past regressions

Thanks for the link I will check it out. It is hard to gain financial freedom when you are starting at the bottom of the barrel like me they are never enough moeny as it is and sure enough not enough to invest or do bonds and such things. I would like to gain finanical freedom but wished it didn't take so much or so much time to do so.

I watched this program when it was originally broadcast. It was full of good advise. I did down load the book then and put it on a cd for myself and granddaughter. I just wish I had been aware of the advise along time ago. I really felt sorry for the woman that had all that stuff and yet no money for very real expenses. All that money on jeans and she never really needing them.

I think I have heard of her or seen her on another talk show too. she does have some useful tips for us to use. I already use alot of what she mentions. I do not use some of the other tips that she says to stay away from also. I think women can be financially secure if they have the funds ro the means to do so. There is a possibilty that we can be financially secure and save ourselves but it is very hard to come by for alot of people. Sometimes we have to do for our children first and put ourselves last.

that is her point though, of course kids should not be neglected, but the extras according to her is not necessary, for example how many mothers where 10 shoes will their kids where 200 dollar shoes, things like that.

Thanks for that information. I think yes women can be financially secure if they work harder. I wouldn't stop giving anything to my children and to others though. Giving to others makes me more feel secure.

I think that I better download right now. Somebody told me off on the other board and I was so ticked that I wrote more than I had planned to say about the topic. I'm going to have to work on several things in July including my temper and being sweet. Thanks for posting it. I'll certainly enjoy reading it. I'm off to go download it.

Its because of the 3000. I have been complaining because some people have their friends rate all their work and then never help in return. A few are whining that I'm not helping them enough, but they seem to think I should do all of the work.

I am not sure if we can now.. We used to be able to help our kids and family if they needed it, but it is every man for himself nowadays.. I am not sure if all the advice in the world will be able to help much now..

of course not everything in the book will, but sometimes you might find a gem, just a little piece of advise that saves you a few dollars here or there.

Hi Winterose, thank you so much...I caught the very end of the show...I get off work at 4pm and it takes me about 10-15 minutes to get home...then I must walk the dog and care for my 4 cats, cause of course I didn't record it, duh :-( But thanks to you I now have the book, did you know that it is 274 pages long? It is, and thank God for my boss who is the greatest boss in the world, I was able to print it!! Thank you Winterose...will share my thoughts on it once I read it. Stay cool, stay well, and never, never stress! ~G~

Hi Rose, while I am not a particular fan of Oprah, I did catch that program, and have not ever really watched Suze Orman's programs as I never have any money to play around with, but today I did watch and concur with Ms Orman, because I stayed in a marriage for years and years because I never had the money to get away. When I finally did I made it my business to learn all about money and how to look after it, my ex handled all the money in the house and I was the only person working, and the word should be mishandled as we were always one step away from eviction and the repossessions were on going. So I agree Suze Orman's book is a great idea and is down loadable free. Any one who doesn't have the power over their money needs to read her book or watch the program, Great topic.

thanks hon, I always handled my own money but we never had very much even when I was married, everything went to bills and childcare, we both had to work just to pay our rent, after I divorced it got worse, I had to do everything on my own and now I am disabled and have nothing.
