Hair cut like a celebrity  |

 There is a show called Shear Genius[/i] (hair stylists compete for a big prize) that airs on the Bravo network. Last year a woman asked the contestant to cut and style her hair like Gwen Stefani's. Well the contestant (the hair stylist) tried, but it just isn't likely that a person can give a woman platinum blonde hair in two hours when the original color of the woman's hair was black. So it didn't go well.
My mom brought my sister and I into a salon when we were very young, I think 5 and 7. She asked the woman to cut me and my sister's hair like Dorothy Hamill, the famous ice skater. Dorothy Hamill was still quite popular back then. Well when the hair cuts were finished, we did not look like Dorothy Hamill. We looked like Dorothy Hamill's brother!
Have you ever asked your stylist or barber to cut your hair like a celebrity? If so, did it work out OK? Is there someone you want to have you hair styled after? I know the Rachel cut was popular when Jennifer Aniston was on Friends.

My hair is curly and its really hard to get to look like most of the celebrities so I don't ask for a particular hairstyle...just something that will look good on me.

I think subconsciouly they thought the hair would make their face look like the celebrity. | |

A couple of months back, I had it all shaved off to support a girl who was shaving hers off to raise money for a local cancer group. I wanted to sponsor her so badly, as she was only 8 at the time and oh so brave about it, but I needed a credit card. I did the next best thing, and had mine all hacked off too, back to about 5mm in length. It is growing back rather funny, and got me thinking maybe time for a trip to the salon to see if they can tame it for me! lol.

It barely was long enough, so I just made it. It sounds like a charity you would enjoy, plus you wouldn't be bald, just have shorter hair.: ) | |

We have the Shave for a Cure run by the local cancer council, which raises money to support families with children who are undergoing cancer treatment. The event is run about 3 times a year now I believe, and quite popular. Hat sales got through the roof too, so good for the economy as well! | |

| 26. nerdytina (2037) | 1 year ago |  I haven't ever done that. I think I'd probably just be disappointed that the haircut itself didn't totally transform me into a celebrity babe.
I usually bring in a picture that I found on the internet (not of a celebrity, but from one of those haircut galleries). I just ask that the results are sort of in the same style range. It's never exactly the same, and the results are usually better since the stylist understands my hair and what would work on me better.
