The yeast, which raises the bread,is a living organism & needs warmth to make it grow.Yeast likes moist heat,so when the dough is put to rise the bowl can be set on a stove rack with a pan of gently steaming water underneath. For the long rising a damp cloth may be put over the top of the bowl and the bowl itself stood in a warm, drought free corner or in airing cupboard.

bread making can be very simple or very complicated. With some warm water to melt yeast, sugar to feed it ,and salt to flavor it, all combined with flour and you have all the ingredients for a wonderful loaf of bread.

I love to bake fresh bread. It really is not that difficult to do and the fresh baked bread tastes so great. I made a few loaves a couple of weeks ago. I am going to make my son the banana bread that he has requested either today or tomorrow.
