Are you a good judge of character? Can you spot a fake friend?

well i used to be quite good at this and very rarely was wrong about anyone but then it turned out that i had gotten one of my friends all wrong, a friend of mine and my hubbys turned out to be not very nice at all and was actually allowing his child to be abused by a relative, how did i not spot the evil in this person

I'm like you. In my younger years I had some not so good friends, because I really just needed someone to hang out with. Now I'm better and surround myself with better people. However I was recently hurt by some people I thought were my friends. I've learned that regardless of character, and how good of a friend a person may seem, they will always show their true colors when the going gets tough.

No, I can not. I thought that I had friends that were very nice and really out and loving me, but in all honesty, I didn't. My friends changed as soon as I did, and they really made those colors shine. I thought I was a great judge of character but indefinitely I was not.

Very nice topic. I dont have a lot of friends because I dont want a lot of friends. However a good friend is someone who will be with you through good and bad times. Someone who doest trust you. Someone who will always be honest with you. My best friend is great, heck there are times we dont talk for 6 months but we both know that we would always be there. It really is easy to spot a fake friend. They are the people who are about themselves, the ones who quiver and run at the first thought of tension.

I do have to say in this world though my ultimate best friend is my wife. This August we will be married 20 years and we still have fun just like day one. I couldnt have aske for a better relationship. I do consider myself very lucky

I think I am pretty good at judging character, what I mean is that I don't befriend people in my real life right away. I wait and watch and listen to people before I really open up to them. I make it a rule never to give my heart away to my friends until I know them really well. I have some friends that I would like to believe I would die for if I was called upon to do it... but that takes time and trust. None of my friends have bad behaviors because they wouldn't be friends... meaning if one of my new friends started telling me he/she was shoplifting, that person wouldn't be my friend. I like to think I know my friends inside and out and they do me.

I am pretty good at juding a charater of a person and of a friends . I have met too many people who were fake in my life, and I can now spot them out . Its sad that you gotta get hurt sometimes to get smart .

I used to be very trusting and believed in everyone but I got hurt or taken advantage of too many times and so I wised up. I will do anything within reason for a friend but when a new*friend* turns out to be a bottomless pit of need, I have to back away. If a friend talks about me or my family behind my back and I hear about it, that person is not a true friend. Last but not least, if a friend is a liar or a drug user, that person is not someone I want around me. I met a very nice young woman when we first moved here and I was informed that she had suffered a terrible brain injury in a car accident so I tried to be nice to her whenever I saw her. She had had a drug problem and she claimed to be clean and sober. I loaned her money a few times because she had a convincing sob story each time and, finally, I heard through the grapevine in this small town that she was using again. I asked her about it the next time I ran into her and she denied it but everyone in town knows that she's using. She calls me her Angel but I do my best to avoid her now.

My jusgement of character has blown my husband away o numerous occasions. I'm able to spot a phony from twenty-five hundred miles away. I did once, when I heard the guy's voice in the background. I was later proved right when the person turned out to be a complete loser. Now when I say that I can tell someone's a certain way because of their oice (I hae eer bee wrong) my husand listen to me.

Hi Beauty..I always thought i was pretty good at knowing who was real and phoney until recently when a so called friend of 20 yrs pulled some bad stuff on me and took advantage..so if you would have asked me a couple of months ago i would have said yes..but now i'm going to ask them 20 questions..friends or not and if anything is amiss then BOOTED out the door..no more friend..LOL

You see this world is full of people with all kinds of different characteristics. Some are smart some are smarter, some are dumb and some dumber! The very starting or beginning of friendship is how we recognize characters and how well and instantly we decide whom to talk and whom not to. It is that inner feeling, that aura around a person which sends the vibes of the personality.
I've travelled a lot in my country and I've known a lot of people, a lot of people. Made new friends every now and then. And I think I'm pretty good now in Reading peoples minds, their gestures, their body language, their speech tone, etc. It all seemed to real for me at once but then slowly when things started to prove itself I was happy that my judgements in some cases were accurate and in other cases were near to perfect.
It is so amazing getting to know what people think and anticipating, being in their shoes.
