Let's undress |
|
I paid my first visit this year to the beach today. About a thousand other people thought they would do likewise. Imagine if you will. A war sunny day with a slight breeze. The water was warm (for the UK) and welcoming and many fancied a dip. All around me were men, woman and children in various stages of undress. Each desperately trying to hold a sandy towel around them to protect their modesty as they grappled with their undergarments. One or two though, just threw caution to the wind. Stripped and put on their swimming costumes. I have no problem with nakedness, although at time it was difficult to know where to look. I either got a good look at someone's foundation garments coming off, or the real thing in all its unclothed glory. Are you a stripper or a cover up person on the beach? I'm a cover up merchant myself. I get changed at home or in the car.

1. cinderella2007 (1140) | 4 weeks ago | Im a cover up person, I would either just like you get ready at home or somewhere where I cant be spied on!!! whereas coming home I would allow myself enough time to dry off so that I can wear my costume home and not have to try and get dressed on the beach!! Thats one thing I miss about Butlins, we walked out of the gates and you were on the beach!! Fab!!

p1kef1sh (2851) | 4 weeks ago | I suppose that holiday camps do have that advantage Cinders. I have to say that the sand does get everywhere. But I'd have to be pretty desperate to strip completely. That said, the older that I get, the less reserved I am about such things.

cinderella2007 (1140) | 4 weeks ago | I hate it when sand gets between your toes and you have to wait for your feet to dry off so that you can rub it off. It can be quite painful too!! The one thing that never made sense to me was when we were younger and living in Cornwall, we used to visit beaches regularly and my parents used to tell us to go and wash the sand off our feet in the sea but then we would have to walk on the beach to get to the car so we would end up with sandy feet!! Parents, aye never make sense!!!

p1kef1sh (2851) | 4 weeks ago | We never make sense Cinders But we're always right! Actually I still have some sand between my toes and it's scratching like mad. I must wash them before I go to bed.

cinderella2007 (1140) | 4 weeks ago | Yes soak your feet and make sure you get between those toes!! It makes me laugh how weeks later you still find sand in your clothes!! haha

2. Goodie123 (6880) | 4 weeks ago | OMG, people actually just strip off on the beach, To change into their swimmers. Bleeding heck if when I still had a figure I would not do that. I used to wear my swimmers to the beach, With a T-shirt over them. No way could I just strip off and change in front of everyone. Psssst did you get any photos to share.

p1kef1sh (2851) | 4 weeks ago | I thought that taking photos might not quite be the done thing. I'm not pretty, but I'd be uglier still with a fist in my face! I do have a pic of me paddling today up on here somewhere. It's in my road straightening discussion under Ruby's response I think.

3. jillhill (6052) | 4 weeks ago | Oh I am definately a cover up kind of person. I wouldn't want to inflict anything that might be to devastating on anyone and ruin their enjoyment of the beach. Being older, nature does have a way of redefining the sculpting the body and it's not such a pleasant sight as when I was younger..firmer and more uplifted! LOL

p1kef1sh (2851) | 4 weeks ago | It was the older ones (I don't count the very little children) who seemed to be the least reserved Jill. I am sure that you are exaggerating. I bet that you are gorgeous.

4. Hatley (10731) | 4 weeks ago | ho pikey me I am also a cover up person as I have a lot to coverup so I change at home or in the car. I do have some modesty and a feeling of kindness for strangers as i do not want to shock them with my less than size twelve figure. I am not going to say what size I wear but I would be looking for a swim suit in the plus sizes. I havent been down to Newport Beach in ages but in the summer we have so many tourists at times its just no fun asits horizon to horizon with people. I love to stroll on the beach when there are just a few people there so I can a ctually see the sand and the water and everything inbetween.

5. danishcanadian (13735) | 4 weeks ago | I always get canged at home, or in the cheange rooms at the beach. I wear my wet swimming stuff home, and just sit on a towel in the car, or bring a robe with me to keep warm under. I've never heard of people just changig on the beach. I don't think it's legal to do hat here in North Ameria. There are always changing rooms provided.

| |
|
|
p1kef1sh (2851) | 4 weeks ago | I don't think that it's legal, but on the beach people seem to move into another world. We don't routinely have changing facilities at all beaches. The one that we went to today has a naturist element too. But that was quite a way further up.

p1kef1sh (2851) | 4 weeks ago | I suspect that people don't notice that much anyway LnP. All that I can remember now is an old man's white bottom. His wife was holding the towel over his front, but he was bare behind!

7. maddysmommy (10111) | 4 weeks ago | Ok, they aren't shy are they. I am a cover up person and change at home first before we head out to the beach. If I don't have time then I use the bathrooms to change.

|
|
p1kef1sh (2851) | 4 weeks ago | There are no changing facilities but there are showers and bathrooms. I imagine that lots of people get dressed and undressed there.

10. rjscott (1968) | 4 weeks ago | P1ke, my chum from across the puddle, I am most definitely one who uncovers at home or in the changing room at the beach down the street from my home. Since I live in an area that people from across the pond visit in droves, I've had occasion to be at the beach, on the beach, tipping a Natural Light only to see Europeans in front of me stripping to the nothingness to switch from their street clothing to swim trunks. (Men only ... seems European ladies are ladies.) I always get a chuckle when I see this happen. I'm a private sort of person, especially when it comes to MY privates. Also, I get a second chuckle from watching the reaction of non-European ladies who are also seeing these "quick-change artists" displaying their wares in public. Memo to self: RJ, you must learn to be more tolerant of those European visitors. No big thing. Yeah. I discovered that. REALLY no big thing! (C) 2008 RJScott

p1kef1sh (2851) | 4 weeks ago | You are quite correct RJ. The men are much less shy than the women. That's not always a bad thing!! One poor chap stood about ten yards in front of me and changed. His wife held a towel in front of him, but his rear end was exposed to all. Fortunately my daughter and her friend chose that moment to go for their swim so missed the spectacle!
