Do You Have Any Scars |
I had my gall bladder out when I was in my thirties because I have a big stomach the doctor said the scar is much bigger than usual.
The scar looks like a butcher came after me, even a different doctor once asked "who was the butcher that did that?" It is all the way across my stomach, like the mark of zorro but only one diagonal line from top to bottom. It looks hideous, and it is over 20 years old, but I bleached it and it is much lighter than it was before thank god for that.
My friend just had a moll removed from her face. It was cancerous. The face is the worst place to have a scar, you can't hid it. It looks awful, but hopefully in time it will be less apparent as well. And the hurt well who can judge when that will go away, it was an operation and cutting into the skin hurts, there is no doubt about that.
But she is so right when she says "it still beats having cancer."
Do you have any scars from surgery, accidents, fights?

1. mobilecubie (504) | 1 year ago | I have some on my knees, elbows, hands and chest. I was a small kid who loved to go to adventures when I was still young. I fell off a tree and that is why I have scars on my chest, I had a bad reaction when they were removing a mole on my hand and it spread and when they were able to remove all of it I have a couple of scars now, and finally my most beloved story was the scar on my elbow and knees. We were racing down on a paved mountain side when someone tripped me (still don't know if it was accidental).I got so many wounds because I rolled down the side of the mountain but what was strange was I didn't get any broken bones nor did I have any wounds on my face. LOL I almost have any part of my body with a scar, but given the chance I'd still do all those things I did even if some were painful because the way I see it any pain you can walk away from makes you stronger (plus you can make cool stories with your scars LOL).

tyc415 (4493) | 1 year ago | Oh my goodness neelygal, that is horrible. I'm sure the inner scar is much worse than the outside scar. I feel you are lucky to be alive and I sure hope he is paying his dues for doing that to you.

neelygal (813) | 1 year ago | He actually is a very nice man,a good father and a good husband. At the time we were going through some issues and he was letting other people influence his actions. He was lucky that I didnt have him thrown in jail and he has never hit me again. It happened on our 8th anniversary. That was 3 years ago so I have forgiven him but I will never forget it.

saivenkaat802003 (3082) | 1 year ago | Hi neelygal.. don't take him for granted the animal in him is sleeping..
Sorry.. i make look somewhat harsh, on your hubby..but that is a real fact.

chingbeem (408) | 1 year ago | oh my gosh neelygal, please be on the watch always...a bat on your face is no joke.my husband wont even think of pinching me...be careful and i do hope that was the first and the last bat breaking thing

Annie2 (417) | 1 year ago | neelygal, he could have killed you. I agree with the other poster who said the monster in him is sleeping. Once someone gets by with that, they will do it again. There will be other issues in your lives. How will he handle it then? Kill you next time? What if issues cause him to hurt your children? Abusers are always nice when they aren't abusing. Been there. Done that. Good luck.

4. galadr1el (619) | 1 year ago | I have all kinds of scars. Two on my head; one from a run in with a deer and one from jumping on my bed when I was a kid and falling and hitting my head on the wall.
I have scars all over my legs from various falls, but quite a few from being a really bad shaver, too. LOL
I also have one on my wrist from an accident in a lake as a teenager. I was climbing out of the water up a metal ladder, and I lost my grip and slid back down. As I slid, the edge of the ladder sliced open my wrist.

7. OreoCookie3 (18790) | 1 year ago | I have a scar down my midline from the gastric bypass surgery. I have a scar down the middle of both knees where they did total knee replacements.. now that is some pain that I don't ever want again... that is for sure. I guess that is it for body scars for me... Oh yes, I had a cancer removed from my face and a cyst off my back..forgot about that. My face scar isn't even a real scar.. it is more like a natural line I have in my face, so you can't see that I have had surgery there.. the one on my back was deep.. so there is a big hole in my back...just more like a big dip where that sebaceous gland was taken out... it had turned into a huge cyst about the size of a golf ball.
| |
| |
winterose (17884) | 1 year ago | wow that is a big cyst to come out for sure.
| |
OreoCookie3 (18790) | 1 year ago | Yeah, it is what is called a sebaceous cyst. Normally the sebaceous gland is filled with a fluid..it's a sweat gland. Well in my case the gland blew up like a balloon with this solid stuff and my body could not get rid of it because it was solid. I had this thing for years and one doc called it a carbuncle... and treated it with antibiotics.. but it never really got better and just got bigger and bigger... until finally when they took it out it was the size of a golf ball.

9. underkcat (134) | 1 year ago | i got a couple of scars from surgery and 1 from accident..
I'll start with my head.. I have a 2 scar on the back of my head.. one was frpm my open brain sugery.. the other is from vp shunting because of hydrocephalus.. i have scar on mu forehead due to neurofibroma excision.. then my chin was stitched due to rollerblading accident.. I recently had a scar at the back of my ear & head due to cochlear implant.. It's not yet done.. Hehe. My left ring finger, my left arm, and my back had stitches due to neurofibroma (cysts/tumors) and I think I might undergo another surgery in the coming days.. weeks.. months.. years.. I'm not sure.. Whoa I'm like a human crossed stitch.. Haha!

10. Grandmaof2 (4372) | 1 year ago | I'm probably heavier than you and I had my galbladder out in 1980. I had an excellent doctor at that time. He was an older man and a cancer specialist/surgeon. I do have a scar but it's really not all that bad. He did a very good job. Perhaps your doctor was a butcher at one time, I mean these days with all we hear about doctors anything at all is possible. I hope your friends cancer doesn't return and hopefully the scar will heal well. The Best!!!
| |
| |
winterose (17884) | 1 year ago | yes he was a butcher, at the time I was not that big at all, but what can you do once he does a job like that? You know what I mean, I could tell him to reverse I want to go to somebody else.
| |
Grandmaof2 (4372) | 1 year ago | I kind of thought so. I was 180 pounds when I had my operation, wish I still was but NOT, anyway like I say I do have a scar but it's really not bad. My husband weighs about 160 pounds, I have no idea what he weighed when he had his appendix out but he was only 12 years old and you need to see that mess, it looks like the surgeon was a woodsman and used a chain saw on him. Literally it's awful.
