Ours has...in the last week it has went down almost 40 cents a gallon. Now that the kids are back in school or close to being back in school and summer vacations are nearing the end....they have finally dropped it. Which is too bad as some had to put their vacations on hold because of it! So has the priced dropped in your area too?

Illinois suburbs dropped theirs just below the 4.00 mark. However, the other day I went to get gas and before the air even started to push and gas out the pump began at .49 cents. What a scam. I wonder how many people blindly pump gas here and never notice.
This is just a way to excuse the gouging that will occur for Labor Day weekend.

Gas has finally dropped in our area too but not by much. It's dropped 20 cents or so. In the bigger towns not too far from us, it's dropped 50 cents or more. Sadly the town in which I go to college gas is only the same price as it is where I live. I wish it would drop a bit more since I'm going to be living there more often.

Yes, gas was $3.61 last evening when I was on my way home from work. I couldn't believe that. It was no more than a few weeks ago that it was over $4.00 per gallon. It's nice to get a little relief. But did you ever think you'd think $3.61 a gallon for gas was cheap????

Yep, gas prices are lower now although still too high. I don't have to fill up my suv very often but when I do it runs about $40 to $45. I can get by on a tank for 2 to 3 weeks since I work very close to home and don't do alot of running around in the evening.

Gas around here has gone from $4.12 to what is now $3.65. it was $3.59 for a few days last week, I waited to late and had to pay $3.69. At least it has gone down, you don't get much for 20 bucks in a big pick up and believe me when i say if I could trade it in on something smaller them I would. Yes I'm sure lots of people didn't go visit relatives or go on vacation because of the gas prices. But it should go down a lot more I believe, I think the day President Bush said let look into drilling here at home they started dropping the price. We need some relief people on fixed incomes can't even afford to make their doctor's appointments.

Hi Jill, Yes I am happy as here in the UK it does seem to have dropped too. I was paying £1.35 per litre of diesel and this week filled up for £1.25 per litre which is a big difference. I have been visiting my brother and in his area of the UK I saw it for as low as £1.19 per litre. Ellie :D @nova1945 (1612)

Ours has gone down this past week. We are around $3.59 per gallon now and hope it keeps going down. May the grocery prices will start dropping too since fuel is down. And corn crops are expected to be at the highest yield in recorded history. So maybe there is hope yet.

in the uk petrol(gas) prices have risen so much that people are roadblocking to protest about it.I also found out that the government takes over 75% of the profit,so the gas stations in the uk make about 5p a litre!

A few weeks ago it dropped drastically, and I heard we had the lowest priced gas in the country. Then it went back up, but two days ago I noticed it went back down. I hope it goes down even further. It is so funny that we get excited about prices that just two years ago we would have thrown fits about paying. I guess that is just the sign of the times, huh.

By like...ten cents, not enough to really help -- even though we didn't have the highest prices in the country to begin with, my state's a farming one. Going up over 3.50 was bad enough to begin with. Going down to 3.76 or so isn't that awesome.
