I know that to some people this will be old news. I hope that it will be old news for a lot of folks, but it is still running around in my head so I will share it.
There was some info in the Wall Street Journal of interest about Ms. McCain that made me want to vote for her more than anyone currently running for office! She is a Grad from Southern California and is a Special needs teacher. She is the Chairwoman of her Dad's firm, and business has doubled since her becoming Chair.
Her assets and John's are seperate as per a prenup agreement.
She is involve in mine clearing called "Halo Trust" in various countries and serves with the demolition team and is on the board! They also provide food and water to war torn countries.
She has a son in Iraq. McCain has a 21 year old getting ready to graduate from the Naval academy which could put another child in harms way. Another son was a Navy pilot(go Navy).
With Mother Teresa's request, Ms. McCain adopted a little girl with a sever cleft palate, with out even telling her husband. The child has since had dozens of operations to repair her palate and other problems. No questions asked, just pure giving!!! When she had back surgery and became addicted to pain killers, she admitted to it and did something about it.
If this woman were to run in 2012, not only would I vote for her, I would actively campaign for her!!

That is very admirable, but I think Cindy McCain may ahve had an affair with John while he was still married to his first wife. His first wife had been disabled in
an accident of some sort. I dont know for sure about the affair part but the rest of it is fact. I think everybody is capable of good and bad.

McCain and his first wife were supposedly separated and their marriage had been on shaky ground for a very long time. They had grown apart as many marriages do. As I have understood it she (Carol McCain) holds no ill will toward either of them. If she can forgive them then I sure can.

This was sent to me some weeks ago. She is some one that I would vote for in a second if she were to run for any office. She will be a great asset to John McCain if he is elected. As for the affair why do people want to pick at something that happened well over 20 years ago?

Because hate comes first and the reason comes second especially if they are for the other guy. I never even said I was voting for McCain yet the assumption was immediately made that that was the case. I do not care what the political party is anymore. I just care about the least horrible person. The one reason that I could never vote for Obama is that he is for partial birth abortions. Sorry, I lost too many almost full term children to ever go along with that. The very thought sickens me. If you have to have an abortion, you have a lot of early months to do it in before the child is compeletly aware. Even then, I find it abhorrant, but maybe a little less so.

She's definitely an impressive person and I wish people would quit talking about McCain's divorce from his first wife that happened over 20 years ago. My rule is typically to leave family out of the election unless they choose to put themselves in the spotlight the way Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton did.

Good to see some praise sent her way. She has often been refered to as his "trophy wife" and it was said as an insult to both her and john. Well, she truly is a trophy isn't she. We should all be so lucky as to find such a trophy. It has been said behind every great man there is a great woman. I guess this is still true today.

I don't know much about Cindy McCain. I don't know much about Michelle Obama either. Discussing candidate's wives to me ranks only lower in unimportance than discussing the candidate's VPs (though I accept the VP might get to be president).
For me, the debate should focus on the candidates themselves and their policies. Discussion re their wives, their families, etc is of little importance to me.

I really like Cindy McCain.
I had checked all of this information on snopes.com a while back. While researching it I also found another bit of info. In 2004 Cindy McCain had a stroke because she didn't keep taking her blood pressure medications. She not only made a full recovery but ran a marathon eight months later.
She is quite a woman.
