At the end of every year I buy Christmas wrapping paper on major discount. When I buy it I normally buy 5 different wrapping papers. 1. For my son 2. For my daughter 3. For my daughter 4. For my husband 5. For the adults I buy each kid a different paper and the adults all get the same. My one daughter loves snowmen so I get her paper with snow men on it. My son likes some thing different every year last year it was spongebob so I got that. My husband loves nascar so I get him that kind. I do this so that I don't have to use tags on the kids presents. I wrap them and only I know whos is whos and they don't till its time to open. I am a pretty wrapper when it comes to adult presents using a lot of ribbion and bows. I love to make each present special for people to open. So what about you?? Do you use all the same - different for each person - or what ever you grab???

I buy a bunch of different wrapping paper after Christmas too. I do buy tags too. I like to make it more of a surprise whose gifts are whose. My mother in law has done it your way before. It worked. I will put some gifts under without tags, so my kids wonder who it is for~ especially if it is something big! I also use some bags, but usually just a few. I would rather take the time to wrap the gifts because I love the way they the look all wrapped under the tree.

I wrap each and every present. Once every thing is wrapped I put it in gift bags that way for the people that are opening at my house and the going home - they have a bag to keep it all in. Easier to transport that way. Or if I don't put them in bags I have large gift bags avaliable for every one to take home there things. I normally buy them after Christmas really cheap and keep them for the next year. I already have 8 bags in my attic of Christmas presnets. I buy all year long. Each person has a bag in the attic and as I buy things I put the items in the bag. By October I should be completely done Christmas shopping and wrapping. Only leaving a few odds and ends for the week before Christmas. Those are the presents that can't be bought early like cookies and candy for the stockings.

That is such a great idea to wrap and then put in the bag! I know when we go to my inlaws, we always bring bags and laundry baskets to bring the kids gifts home in. I have a box of things for Christmas already bought, but am not on top of things like you. I look for things on clearance and buy all year too. I have bought candy after christmas and froze it. I tried it one year as an experiment and my husband and I ate it the following year and it was fine, so I will sometimes pick up candy for stockings after Christmas and freeze it too. Sounds like you wrap as you buy. I love getting everything out before Christmas to see what I have bought and then start wrapping. I love to wrap:)

I do wrap along the way. I do it for a few reasons first being that I love to enjoy Christmas time and laugh at every one running around like crazy becuase they waited till the last minute. Second because I have a few family members that wait till the last minute then call me to help them wrap. It makes me nuts, but I do it because I love them!

I try to wrap the gifts from Santa in paper that I don't wrap any other gifts in. However, both girls are about too old for that. I usually just use a variety of paper for the gifts except for the girls. I try to get whatever they are into that year for some of their special gifts. I don't use ribbons or bows on any of my gifts. To me,that is such a waste of money.

Like I said I do all the same for each kid and then all the same for the adults. Every once in a while there is an odd one just because its too big to fit the paper I have. I use ribbons and bows on the adult paper. I am the "pretty wrapper" of the family. I buy it all after Christmas for the next year. Last year I spent about 20 bucks and got enough paper, bows, ribbon, tissue paper, boxes to last me like 3 years!

I love your idea of using the paper instead of a tag, wish I had thought of that when my daughters were still young lol. I didn't use tags when they were little, I would put the name in a small place on the back of the package, where they couldn't find it lol. I normally choose paper with a theme, for all packages, such as snowmen, santas, or color theme, reds, whites, etc. I use the same papers for everyone, but I do love making tags, with bows, embellishments, etc. (from scrapbooking supplies LOL)

Don't get me wrong I use all that pretty stuff on the adult paper. Its the kid paper I just use a pattern per child - saves tags. For other kids not my own I write right on the paper to: timmy love: us ... For the adults they get ribbon tags bows you name it!!!

My son has always gotten a special wrapping paper and this past Christmas on my daughters first Christmas she got special paper too. Adults just get what ever paper I pick out other than the kid stuff. MY daughter had Disney Princess last year and my son had Spongebob.

I like having special paper for each person in my house - it makes things more personal.

I buy paper specific to children for the kids and foil or scenic for the adults. I always use tags, sometimes use bows, and never use ribbon! And now I have to do it myself because all my teenagers grew up!

I'll be back and we can do it together!!! Hopefully I'm back for good before Christmas this year. If things aren't going as planned I think we are coming down the first week of Dec for Lu's birthday and do an early Christmas.

I usually buy some sort of kid wrapping paper for our kids. This past year it was carebears. I usually try to give them all the same, but your idea is really good. I'll have to try that this year. I usually just buy the cheapest stuff I can find, but if I have more than one present for someone I try to wrap all their stuff in the same pattern.

Thats why I buy after Christmas for the next year. Like last year after Christmas I got a HUGE roll for only 2 bucks and it will last a few christmas' because of how big it is. I was able to find that same size in 3 different patters (one for each kid)

That's a neat idea. I usually just get paper I like and wrap the gifts accordingly. I think this year though, I will wrap the kids presents with one kind of paper and the adults presents with another. I think this might be the best way to keep track of things. Every year i seem to misplace some presents or something. It is annoying.

I am pretty good about keeping all the presents together. I have gift bags in my attic and once I buy some thing for some one it gets put in the bag. I do wrap every thing but put it all back in the bag so when people open presents they can take it with them easier. My mother in law for instance - I bought her a Christmas present for 08 the day after Christmas 07!! So her bag got started!

I get different wraps and I take turns using them. No science to it at all, I just pick patterns that I think are pretty.

Well, I must say you're very organised with your wrapping paper! To be honest, I just tend to buy it as and when I need it. And as my daughter doesn't (yet) have tons of birthday parties to go to, I don't need it very often. My husband and I don't wrap presents for eachother and the rest of the family aren't really bothered about whether a present's wrapped or just in a bag! I mainly wrap presents for my daughter or for her friends when she does go to a party, as I find it's the kids who really like to rip it apart, lol!

Well for birthdays I'm totally out of the organized loop! I never have birthday paper. I am always looking for it. But Christmas is very organized - probably because I have to buy for so many people.
