When do you start Christmas shopping?

Shopping for Christmas is not a big deal for me and my family. I consider Christmas season as one of the regular days where I only buy those things we need. We don't actually save when we shop because we actually spend. Therefore, it is advisable to buy what we need before indulging on spending for other things. Christmas season is one of the good days where we can buy at cheaper prices depending on the situation.

I will usually buy all year, just stashing stuff away in the closet. This year has been different, though for two reasons, the economy and the age of my children. It is harder to know for sure what they will want in Jan, the older they get. I have started in August this year, getting a gift every pay check. It is the easiest way not to have to use credit cards.

Every year I convince myself I will start early in October so that I don't have to join the millions of last minutes shoppers cramming themselves through the shop doors just to grab last minute presents for their friends and family. But do I stick to my annual promise to myself? do I heck!!! No doubt this year will be the same i'll intend to start early perhaps do some of it online this year might work out a little cheaper as well. But I know deep down that being the unorganised person that I am I won't stick to it and it'll be a dash to the shops a day or two before the main event.

It's worse I find when you've bought all your stuff and what with all the panic buying and trying to get things sorted you completely forget to pick up some wrapping paper or cellotape.

About a month ago, I realized that I needed to start gathering things, especially when there are outrageous sales. A couple of wonderful stores have gone out of business, and that's horrible, but it did allow me to get things I wouldn't have been able to afford. It feels odd, because I've alween a last-minute shopper. It's nice, though, so maybe I'll try to make it a habit.

I usually start shopping a few months in advance. I'm not one of those people that buy gifts at least 6 months in advance and hold onto them. I start mine around November or earlier if I have the money and can do it. Sometimes I start looking early and keeping an eye on what I'd like to buy people for Christmas and go from there.

I was thinking about starting as soon as I can. That way I.ll have most
of the shopping done.It should be done by the end of November if I am lucky??

I have officially finished my Christmas shopping this week. I have bought for everyone that I need to buy for. As I am talking about the big gifts. However I will go a little closer to Christmas time and start picking up the Christmas stocking stuffers. But otherwise the small and big stuff is already done. I for one am not a fan of Christmas shopping. With having a back injury and not liking huge crowds I tend to stay away so what better time to buy gifts before those huge crowds begin to develop. And this year I am really early on getting it down. Gotta love online shopping.

It's actually a good habit to start buying things now for your christmas presents. To avoid rush when the peak season comes right?. Good thing for this too is that, you get to remember all the people you intend to give because you've planned ahead. I like this idea though but I personally cannot follow this habit. I wish I can but there are actually things need to be settle first. Aside from that, I usually wait for the Christmas Bonus to buy my presents. hehhehee..;)

I usually start in November as well and have the same worries! This year, I may start earlier buying a little at a time. Unfortunately I will not be buying as much as I usually do for everyone, but I'm sure they understand. I know it isn't supposed to be about the gifts or the money, but I enjoy seeing everyones faces light up as they unwrap their gifts. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year, more for spending time with family and eating good for days!!:)

i have actually already started my Christmas shopping, and have done about half of it. i usually start at the end of the summer when they have a ton of clearance sales. i have 2 children, my sister has 2, my brother has 6, and my husband's sister has 4, so there are way too many kids in our family to buy everything at full price. i actually ended up getting some great toys and board games this year that were so dirt cheap, mostly at kmart and marshalls. plus i love getting good bargains like that- it makes me feel like such a smart shopper.:)
